I have a tripod, and just use my regular DSLR (Canon 550D). Works great, it films in HD but I find that a pain to upload to youtube so I film in lower quality. I have a 16gb class 10 SD card, have yet to fill it up! I regularly shift pictures and videos to my computer though :)

Agility Nationals 2014

Yes so pleased :D NZ dogs are doing really well, looks like a few have been knocking the spread jump though, something we don't use here very often! Might have to use it a bit more :D Hope some Aussies are planning trips to NZ nationals, we have one every year :) Been seeing photos and videos of some interesting breeds that we don't see doing agility here either which is fun! -

Is there anywhere posting live commentary from the event at all? Results as the classes finish? -
I have given my 13kg terrier mix half pigs heads before, she just eats and gnaws until she is content and then I put it in a plastic bag and into the freezer so she can have the rest a week or two later.

Good luck everyone! Will be on the edge of my seat all weekend following the NZ team through their facebook group! They are so good, posting videos all day for those of us left at home -
Had our first go back at weightpull since this time last year - Elsie has certainly not forgotten how it all works! We train at the same place that we do sledding, so the surface is a gravel road... Elsie pulled 200kg today including the cart - a new personal best!

Have You Already Picked Out Breed/name For Your Next One?
Podengo replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have names in my head for specific dogs, but who knows :) I really like "E" names, so mostly have E names on my list! And a few breeds/gender, though who knows if the names will stick when/if the puppy arrives! It took me a few weeks to name Elsie, I had wanted an "L" name as my family dogs are Lottie and Libby, but decided Elsie, sounding like LC was close enough! I had picked Lola out for her, until people kept singing this song at the mention of it :laugh:Boy Malinois - Ender or Ethan Girl Doberman - Ethyl Boy Doberman - Eros Boy Italian Greyhound - Eli or Elin Girl Portuguese Podengo - Etoile Also like Erol and Edith, but don't have a specific dog in mind :D Most likely the Iggy will be the next dog, as my partner wants one and I already have a dog.... -
Quite a few of the dog parks in CHCH have "agility" gear - I wouldn't use any of it though, it's all dangerous looking!
-
I want an iggy just like her! She sounds perfect :D

Lots of them bred as pig dogs here, usually mixed with other breeds though. Three listed on the big pet rehoming website here, a Catahoula x Bull dog, a Catahoula x Lab x Heading dog litter and a Catahoula x Collie.

I love puppies - they are so much fun, I love puppy training. The only thing I don't like is when you leave the room to have a shower or something and leave someone else in charge of the puppy for 10 minutes, and come back to a puddle on the floor!

It's an interesting and common discussion on the Doberman forum I am on, looking at the difference between European show line and North American show line dogs, vs working line dogs. I enjoy following the discussion, though don't have a lot to add! These are all impressive dogs who have done very well in the area they compete in, though are all quite different. Good luck to everyone at Nationals! Give team Kiwi (The Paw Blacks!) a big cheer from me! Elsie Jumpers run from today, bad handler giving late signals at the end... otherwise a lovely run!

There is a great dane breeder that raw feeds on the "Raw Feeding NZ" facebook group - could be worth joining up and asking her?

I just follow the 80/10/10 meat/organ/bone (of which half of organ is liver). Then look at weight, either feeding 2-3% of ideal adult bodyweight or 10% of current puppy weight then adjust as needed. So for a puppy that will mature to 60kg.... Dogs Weight = 60 Percentage to feed = 3% Grams To Feed Per Day = 1800.00 Grams Per Day Made up of: 1440 Meaty Meat 180 Edible Bones 90 Liver 90 Other Organs Spread over an appropriate number of meals for your dog.
