Actually I just saw I can get it from here: https://www.allbarks.com.au/shop/dog-food/k9-natural/dog-food-k9-natural Looks interesting. For my Lab x it says for $122 I can get 107 feeds so that is just $1.14 per day. Can you tell me more about it? Is it easy enough to prepare? Do the dogs like it?

I have heard of them before and saw their site but I didn't realise they were in Sydney. I don't know if they are but they have stockists around. I am getting mine from bargo. Hopefully they'll have some closer to you. Yep, found a stockist, thanks!

I'm looking at switching my whole crew back over to RAW but not looking at doing it myself as I remember how time consuming it was! What Commercial Raw Food Diets are there that are available in Sydney? I know of Dr Billinghurst, Canine Country (Delivery was an issue). We only have one permanent Dane plus a couple of x-breeds but with Dane fosters I need to look at affordablity as well.

We just use an ottoman. I was going to go smaller but the small dog we have can jump as high as he needs to to get on the bed, I just didn't want him doing it.

We have a 5.5 month old foster Dane pup here that plays very rudly and grabs my lab x by his back - all in play but not nice, Lab x put up with it for a bit but now understandably isn't happy but won't repremand the puppy so I have them seperated unless I am able to supervise 100% and provide guidence which usually occurs with 20 second time outs which he understands due to repetition.

I think that's a good point, but I also think not enough un-biased research has been done to see if does or does not do any harm. It actually has. Royal Canin had their own line and did plenty of research into it hense why I used their product. It wasn't popular enough and is no longer available.

My dog who has now passed who was severely allergic had to go on a vegan diet at one stage as we'd run out of novel meat proteins to try. My research brought me to the fact that a protein is a protein regardless of if it comes from an animal or a plant and as long as it was a commercial balanced diet there was no issue with it. Personaly I'd only feed a vegan diet if there was an issue with the dog meaning it could eat meat. But if it does no harm then who are we to judge?

My allergic dog reacted to it but have heard plenty of healthy dogs that do well on it like any other commercial premimum diet.

Very cute, does he have a Blue nose?

Lovely to see a dog doing a job they were bred to do :)

We use personaly and for our Rescue Pennant Hills Vet Clinic, we think they're wonderful :) UTI Supplement = Cranberry

Then feed them 40% less. There is no excuse really is there.

We're with RSPCA insurance and I think that's around $40 a month. What a Dane eats is a very individual thing. Anything from say a couple of cups of kibble to 9 cups of kibble. A growing Dane will eat alot where-as an older not so active Dane won't consume as much. A 20 kg bag would probably last 2-3 weeks for an adult.

I would have a long, hard think if these two breeds are really a good match. Just a swipe of the paw from a Dane could badly injure a Chi. I'm not saying it can't work but it is a lot of work and separating. I have a giant dog (60kgs+) and a Pug (6kgs) who is small for his size, I am lucky that the large dog is very docile and spends most of his time sleeping. If he was hyper and zoomed around it would be fraught with danger IMO. Ditto. We have a Shihtzu x Pommy foster here and a 12 year old Dane and there's no issues - most likely as both are old. If I had a younger Dane here that was playful or not as tolerant then there definately could be issues. There is a Dane Breeder overseas who owns Chi's and recently had an accidental death in play, very sad.

I have thought about adopting, i have been looking at the Great Dane Rescue and Rehoming website. If I could have one now I'd adpot "Blue" in a heartbeat as he's exactly what I want! Although people will always have their colour preferences, we ask people to look at the dog as a whole as the right dog for them and their family may come in another colour :) Blacks & Merles are currently the most common in Rescue. We don't see Blues very often.

Did I Do Something Wrong In This Situation?
sas replied to Leelaa17's topic in General Dog Discussion
My personal take on it is you should just walk one dog at a time if that's what you can effectively control if shit hits the fan. Also, you wrapping leads around your hands and making them tight is sending a clear signal to your dogs that you're not confident and that can cause them to becoem on edge and reactive. -
Thanks for the info :)

Oh I hope that's not the same in QLD. I'm already pretty sure which breeder im going with, they're listed on the DOL page so i figure they must be good! I'm loving reading up on GD's, I wish i could get one right this second but i have to wait a bit longer until it's practical No that doesnt mean they're good unfortunately. Download the Guide and there is a section on buying a puppy with a checklist and all kinds of information.
