I was thinking that too, but how will they know if this thread is deleted? Rather SAS could have suggested anyone wanting to discuss their situation and try to have it resolved could PM her, and ask for the thread to be closed for further discussion, but still be available for those who need assistance. This situation has been wide spread on FB as well as the thread here. I'm not sure there are many rescuers who have an online presence who haven't heard about it. Because a resolution has been achieved there is no need to carry on - there is another PR's thread I believe where people can vent there. I'm more than happy to speak to anyone who would like advice but in reality it was our Lawyer who decided to take it further - I simply put it out there given the content was so extreme it wasn't just a petty email exchange. Although I am an assertive blunt person I don't feel the need to keep tormenting this particular person as the outcome has as I said been appropriate and I highly doubt they will ever communicate in that manner again - in brief...punishment has been given and there is no need to keep punishing them. I cannot speak for PR's themselves but perhaps this has been a lesson for them as well about how their people communicate.

I wasn't being curious and "looking for the blood on the ground". It was simply because, as you said, there are apparently huge issues with Pound Rounds, and not all of the people who deal with them have your strength and initiative. In the past when I was helping rescue groups, I've had to deal with crackpots, too, I've been threatened with legal action, screamed down the phone at, etc etc. It is never pleasant, but some people are able to deal with more easily and/or effectively than others. I was merely trying to be a voice for those people who maybe don't have the support or experience to, as you have suggested, to take a stand. I wasn't suggesting you were looking for blood - I'm just explaining to anyone interested where I stand personally.

The resolution for the individual was appropriate in our opinon. I'm not going to outline any more, I understand people are curious, I would be too if I were you. However you'll just have to trust me when I say it was appropriate. This after all was between GDRR NSW and one person (representing PR) - it wasn't rescue in general against PR's - although since posting have come to realise how much PR is in the headlines. If other people have issues with Pound Rounds I suggest they take a stand where possible and go after their own resolutions. I understand this can be difficult sometimes and impossible sometimes as well, our situation was individual to us - between us and one individual - the circumstance was unique as such and that is why a resolution via our Lawyer was possible.

Super easy....inside in a crate in your room :) If you're going to use an e-collar I'd recommend one that is an 'e' version that has multiple limits and a vibrate warner and that will not trigger off the other dog. www.k9pro.com.au can recommend you one and they're not that expensive.

There has been an outcome I believe is fitting with the actions of the person so will now ask for the thread to be deleted. I hope that Pound Rounds as an organisation will think twice before sending bullying and harassing emails from any of their staff or volunteers in the future.

LOL I'm sure we all have a stray one.

Whether she is a lawyer or not isn't really the issue perse' - just very silly behaviour from a Lawyer. I mean, in all seriousness who tells someone to go kill themselves. All in the hands of all Lawyer now.
-
That's ok, they can deal with our lawyer :)
-
Our Lawyer will be dealing with it now and she will take it further.
-
Our Rescue's Lawyer has said "if she stated in her email that she is a lawyer then can I recommend that you forward to the Law Society in whatever state she is based. It is a criminal offence to state you are a lawyer if you are not and the Law Society takes these things seriously. Additionally if she is a lawyer, then her email breaches the rules on legal behaviour and the Law society will take action formally against any lawyer who tells someone to kill themselves. Its actually possible to be struck off the legal register for an email like that. No lawyer I know would dare state something like that. You can lose you ability to practice for writing something like that".
-
I will be taking it further and I have told her this.
-
She sent me an apology....someone got tipped off huh. Although I'm not really sure an apology justifies everything she said and her rationale for her behaviour is because "There is only so much abuse and false allegations a person can listen to".....now that's from me saying that I don't support PR as they are unethical/unmoral etc. mmmm pretty sure that's factual as part of public record of those who have had direct relationships with them!

They are Australia wide. Sas a friend that was in greyhound rescue has some absolute pearler emails saved from ages ago and very similar to yours. Not only was she a warty hairy chinned twat but apparantly contributing to the death of greyhounds all over Australia! Damn, I'm not special!
-
Correcto.
-
She's a Lawyer she tells me..... sorry....my tummy hurts from laughter.
-
Not upset by them...amused by how they behave!
-
Pot, meet kettle. LOL, well I'm 58 kilos, work full time and am also studying. I haven't yet had a hairy chin but I'm sure in about 20 years it will happen.
-
Yep! Krystal Bellamy  Was that from a pound rounds employee? Cyber bullying is a criminal offence ya know :)
-
Ah I see! Well I should go kill myself now apparently anyway.... "You can go kill yourself. You are probably an overweight ugly hairy chinned lonely twat who is unemployed and has time to write this shit. Seriously go and die"

I keep hearing pretty poor things about this group however was most amused when I (NSW Great Dane Rescue) was sent a request to save a Dane/Dane x in a QLD Pound. Well to start with QLD is not my area and the photo I was sent wasn't a Dane or even Dane like, it was most likely your typical Bull Arab type breed which I notified the Pound Rounds Representative of which as well as other things stated... "Yes you are the height of morality and ethics - prepared to see a dog die because he does not look enough like a Great Dane. We bow down to you oh merciful one lol" "You discriminate against a dog who is a cross breed (furthermore you are not an expert) and you resent others who try to help where you would otherwise turn a blind eye because they're not pure blood". "I'd probably cringe at your adoption fees. The difference is we're not on it for profit. Now if you'll excuse me I'm at work so I will not liaise with you further". *** Seriously, I mean seriously?! LOL We do actually have a program for Dane x's and any other cross breed, it's called our 'And Friends Program', we're also a registered Not for Profit Group, and we have low adoption fees, charge less when vet work is already done and sometimes don't charge at all. I have to say, there is one thing that highly irritates me and that is 'some' all breeds rescue groups attack breed specific groups for not saving breed crosses or something someone believes is a specific breed x. Anyway, more a vent than anything.

How Often Do You Have To Cut Your Dogs Nails?
sas replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
Every weekend for both dogs and they always need it as well. -
Only stopped pro biotic last week cause I ran out, didn't think that would affect the skin issue.... Tried some dermaid cream on the spots today seems to have eased it off a bit and taken out some of the redness. Any recommendations on anti fungal cream? Skin issues are largely an immune problem....70% of the dogs immune system is intestine/digestion related. I'd recommend you use a product like: http://www.greenpet.com.au/products/DR-GOODPET-DIGESTIVE-POWDER-CANINE.html and a referral to a Dermatologist :)
-
From how I see it you both did not have your dogs under effective control i.e. you could not recall them and therefore you are both at fault.
-
It's an assumption they're being 'dumped' because they are old. In reality unless they are surrendered with the real reason we don't know why they need new homes. Never had a problem rehoming seniors.

Minimise food and increase exercise - same in humans :) I used a Royal Canin weight loss kibble on my Lab x and his overall condition went down hill, his coat was terrible. I prepared a Roo BARF myself and really did minimise his intake and up his exercise and he lost weight and his condition improved. Reducing food has to be done correctly, so often we're over feeding them anyway - well if they're overweight we definitely are so it's not like you're doing anything negative - you will actually be feeding what they SHOULD be getting. My Lab x only needs 50 grams morning and evening to maintain his weight - all dogs are different, the label is only a guide. If you're concerned about loss in mineral and vitamins then use a supplement - there are plenty around: For example: http://store.augusti...uperboost-220g/ http://www.greenpet....SSENTIALS-.html http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/VPORGT#.UXuEmJZ-_mI Also consider a digestive aid so you know your dog is getting the most out of its food: http://www.greenpet....DER-CANINE.html
