  1. Seriously mate? I think you live in a world of rainbows and lollipops if that's what you really think.
  2. I'm not sure which agency is going out i.e. AWL or RSPCA - if it's RSPCA then well we know how useless they are.
  3. RSPCA and AWL have contacts with us. What worries me more is the dog won't be taken.
  4. Danes need to be reared in a very specific manner to grow well, they also need alot of controlled positive socialisation and I doubt any of that will happen.
  5. I just offered this woman a $1,000 of my personal money to take the puppy and she refused.
  6. I've been informed that authorities have had reports submitted to go an investigate, I wish I could have helped the Dane puppy before she was taken by authorities.
  7. Worked with a number of dogs with Atopy. I can confidently say a Raw diet and holistic natural life has not changed their Atopy in the cases I worked with using a number of different products including VAN. If your dog has serious allergery issues get a referral to a dermatologist > the folk that are trained to deal with skin issues....not just folk who have opinions.
  8. I believe you should do what's right for the situation / the dog. I would never make someone feel bad for desexing their dog if that's what they needed to do to enjoy their dog more. Some dogs simply can't handle their hormones and some guardians simply can't handle dogs with hormones. I would never make someone feel bad for wanting to keep their dog entire if they were responsible and would be able to ensure the dog could not be mated unless it was intentional under a responsible and ethical breeding program. As a Rescuer things are Black and White when it comes to Rescue dogs, there are no ifs and butts but for people's personal dogs that choice is up to them. To tell a responsible dog owner they must de-sex their dog or put pressure on them due to brain washing campaigns is insulting to responsible pet ownership. Ask the person WHY a dog should be desexed who harps on about desexing and they only thing they can usually tell you is to stop dogs ending up in pounds....well what about my entire male dog that isn't adding to that problem? They may tell you for health reasons > that's a fair call in 'some' situations however a responsible pet owner can feel for lumps and bumps. There are probably literally thousands upon thousands of entire dogs and bitches making it to old age without adding to the pound population or ending up with reproductive organ cancers. As a Rescuer and a Pedigree entire dog owner I am Pro Choice for responsible pet owners, I am also a supporter of early de-sexing if that's what people feel is the right thing to do. Each situation is different and no-one can tell you what is the right thing to do for your dog. If you're a responsible pet owner then I support you de-sexing you dog, hell I've even paid for some of those to occur. If you have a dog who can't handle its hormones and they are not enjoyable to live with then I support you desexing your dog. But in the end who the hell cares what I support, who am I to tell you what to do with your dogs bits.
  9. I had it done there - found out it wasn't scientific....it was someone placing their hands over the hair and getting energetic feelings from it. Ended up getting it tested in a lab and it actually came back as opposite to what they had said (for the things they could test that were the same). I got no change using Coburg's herbs etc, and very out of pocket. Was more annoyed than anything about the whole thing.
  10. Hi, I'm looking for a start time for Wednesday night Show Training at Castle Hill and price if known. I tried to search but it looks like there's 2 groups that do show training out there and I'm not sure which is which.
  11. Compare the first 4 ingredients....it's all there on the label :)
  12. Looking at the photos that Ectropion is pretty mild imo, although in my breed it is a big problem and what is shown in the photo wouldn't even be looked at twice. I'd be looking at an irritant source more so. Good luck at the Specialists.
  13. Leadership is no more than human Mum & Dads. Media has turned a 'theory' into fact.

  15. That's because its (VIP) labeling makes you think it's a quality food, it is not, it just is worded well on the ingredients panel.
  16. People told us we would know when the time was right.....that didn't happen. There was no moment that made us go "Now is the time", no defining moment at all, just an ongoing and slow progression of her condition. We simply made a decision to end it before we saw those defining signs...some may say we waited too long.
  17. Dosage is 4 drops x 4 times per day.
  18. It's not just the RSPCA though, it's not uncommon for some all-breeds rescues to charge a-lot of money for a Great Dane when we charge no more than $350....ever...
  19. I think they're actually very inexpensive given what they are.
  20. I've only just heard about Canidae, we currently feed our boxer and chi Blackhawk but I am interested to find a local supplier and check it out or get a sample or something Canidae have the highest quality ingredients for any Dane puppy kibble you will find (suitable phos:calc ratios).
  21. And we have his brother te he he We also feed Canidae All Life Stages. My recommendations, check out this if you haven't already: http://www.greatdanerescue.com.au/Docs/Love%20is%20a%20Great%20Dane.pdf Not all breeders are created the same regardless of if they are registered or not - it takes time and patience and open eyes to find a good breeder. In Rescue and also just viewing the online Dane Groups we can see that the breed is suffering in temperament mostly from nervy dogs that become fear aggressive so avoid Backyard breeders and make no excuses for the temperaments of Mum/Dad/Siblings.
  22. For the first time we're also having problems with fleas even on flea treated dogs, we're about to do flea bombs.
  23. I just do my own from meat I get from the butcher.
