  1. I think it's more of processed vs unprocessed in my books.
  2. Yes, we have used it in the past, it's fine, it's really for 'core' cooling. I don't find any better or worse than any others out there and we have tried many. I do like the chest piece.
  3. Sorry to hear what happened. Sadly some rescues have a save all mentality. I do not, I only re-home dogs safe with the general public and dogs, I make no apologies for enthanising dogs who don't meet the grade. Admittedly sometimes dogs are perfectly fine in care and then when they go to a new environment they can change, had a couple in 10 years but thankfully don't see it often, our dogs get assessed by a Behaviourist before they go.
  4. I'm so over their emotional BS.....GOING TO BE KILLED!!! PR are scum, disgraceful and should not be involved in the rescue community.
  5. That's crazy, don't let people use your 16D! I think many involved in Dog Rescue are mentally unsound people with hoarding tendencies, there's very view I would personally deal with especially with the we have to save everything mentality. Keep your reputation and your ethics strong and keep your 16D to yourself, if someone wants to use it they can do they hard work and get their own!
  6. We have a foster pup with it now, just carry on with the injections the Vet is giving and support the body with a good quality diet :)
  7. My 13 year old Dane had this and over the course of 6 months it really accelerated. We tried a special harness but it didn't work very well for her, may have been the design. Laser and massage as well as exercises can offer short term help. Long term there isn't much. sadly
  8. Green Tripe was the only thing that helped us obtain decent poos, we have now 100% transitioned over the raw including the Raw tripe as well and have amazing poos. We did a $200 stool test and came back negative for everything except Giardia, we treated for this and still had issues.
  9. If you walk around with your hand on your hip after the exercises then that's natural. But yeah come on, we know it's not a natural position.
  10. I love this the best. Because he's just walking, there is no unnatural hand on hip.
  11. Hunting is not coursing tho'. Danes were used to hunt a variety of species, and only one that I can think of is a coursed species as well (deer). Is Lure coursing not the act of chasing prey and catching it on speed and sight i.e. what a sightound does? I may have the completely wrong end of the stick...
  12. Very disappointing about the breed restriction. The Great Dane was bred as an independent working hunting dog, we will just have to enjoy it as a fun activity. This is a photo of a past Dane when she was mature Lure Coursing, she was fit and healthy and enjoyed it.
  13. Green Tripe, affordable at $7 a kilo and has done its job well.
  14. No paranoia in this thread, just your unnecessary negativity.
  15. Well that's something completely different...2nd opinion and/or specialist time.
  16. Aircon is definitely on if it's going to be hotter than 25 with no cool breeze (If I'm uncomfortably warm them you can bet my dogs are), my house heats up terribly and my Dane doesn't handle heat well. As for the bill, I don't think about it because the comfort of the dogs is a higher priority than the bill, I just put money into the power bill every week to avoid bill shock.
  17. xrays will be next if your Vet believe the Patella is fine although it sounds very Patella.
  18. Are her rear end muscles atrophied? Has the Vet done a Neurological exam on her to see if the messages are getting to her rear legs ok? Bowen imo is a 'partial' treatment, there are other types of muscle therapies which encompass the whole body. Signed Previous owner of ancient dog & Myofunctional Therapy Student
  19. They may not actually be registered breeders. May just be a Dogs NSW member. Find it, report it :)
  20. Hi Guys, A Journalist from the Sydney Morning Herald is in the early stages of putting together a story on DNA testing for breed identification, if you've had it done can you please contact me at [email protected] and I'll forward you on her email :)
  21. From my experience with Dane breeders who feed cheap foods they do so because it's affordable and also because they don't believe they have had issues growing their pups on it, I may not always agree from watching those pups grow but what breeders choose to feed their dog is none of my business unless I am buying one of their pups. My belief though is that puppy buyers should always be supported by their breeder in selecting a high quality kibble to feed their puppy if they so desire.
  22. This. Dogs can also survive on Coprice and Bonnie and like but don't try and tell me they thrive on it.
