  1. Thank you for your previous comments and suggestions about my mad dog I ordered and now have received some Good as Gold. It has come in a 50gram packet, but I have no idea how much to give to a 9 kilo dog. Can anyone point me in the right direction for dosage? I certainly don't want to kill the little beggar (well not yet ) The ony instructions on the packet say the 50 grams is to be put into the horses night feed. Right now I have put Zedley back onto Endep, but I would like move him off that if I can. Many thanks to you kind DOLers for your previous help and no doubt your help with this. :D I have been giving Zedley 1 gram of Good as gold each night for 4 nights. First 2 nights were fine, third night small disturbance, last night back to night horror for me. Do you think I should increase his dose? I have only been giving it to him with his evening meal (his ony meal), maybe I am meant to give it twice a day.
  2. Waiting, waiting , waiting - takes a long time to cross the Nullabor. Bet it comes by Monday

  5. Zedley get bathed about every 6 weeks. Depends on how firlthy he is :p His own personal space is the laundry sink with mixer shower attatchment :p

  8. Thank you all. I have just ordered some Good as Gold from Vet n Pet as there is none locally. Now to hunt for a crate.
  9. Noisy what is Stay Calm and Good as Gold? I have tried Rescue Remedy and other herbal calming stuff. jigsaw if I put him in the sleep out he cannot get out thank goodness. yellowgirl he is still on Thyroxine (the Endep was stopped due to his psychic sorting his problem out. (We apparently did have a 'being' he could sense and that was shifted. I am now wondering if it was moved to later in the evening I do think I shall have to look for a second-hand crate (the pension doesn't go too far) and try that as it would be much better than him having a whole sleepout to wander around in. Nekhbet what is behave paste? Thank you all very much for your answers and help. I really do appreciate it.
  10. Thanks Mirawee, I have had him for 5 years (he is now 7). I am guessing he was crate trained, being ex stud/showy. I've never had the need to do that here, but the thought did cross my mind last night (together with euthanasia). I ended up shutting him in the sleep out (tried the bathroom and he is scratching the paint off the door ). I think to night I may stick him in the sleep out from the get go, and see how we go. There is nothing in there for him to damage.
  11. Some time ago I posted about his odd behaviour - got to speak to a dog psychic and all is cleared up. New problem: This last couple of weeks, almost very other night, he wakes me between 1.30am and 2.10am. He is pawing at the window and looks panic stricken. I open the bedroom door (go to the loo myself as he has me out of bed), he charges for the kitchen and his dog door, goes outside and starts to dig at a metal area to try and escape the property. Before I put the metal sheet down (temp measure until the gate man returns) he dug under the gate, commandoed under the front gates and swanned off down the park and through to BJ's house. When I try to get the sod to come back in he goes and hides in the bushes. I grabbed his collar last night and literally threw him into the kitchen. I am getting worried that I will really hurt him. I take a coccktail of drugs at night and I am meant to sleep for 7 hours, when I am woken too early and then have to start chasing this little beggar, my heart rate goes through the roof, and it feels like my head will explode. When we go to bed he actually goes to sleep on his side of the bed, whilst I read for an hour or so, then he gets off the bed and goes to sleep on the floor at the foot of the bed. I am stumped as to what is waking him during the night - I live in a very quiet area and no animal activity to bother him. I am making an appt with the vet, but I really would like to avoice drugging the swine every night. I have tried RR to no avail. Anyone have any ideas for me, please.
  12. 'coz they nicked 'em to sell at a great profit on Ebay
  13. Welcome home Chase, you lovely boy!!! Thanks to your Mum for taking such great care of you You had us worried for a time, but you must be one he££ of a fighter to come through this.
  14. I have just caught up with this thread. KM I am so glad that Chase made it through the night and is going to make a full recovery. I know how scared you must have been. I'll be keeping him in my prayers.
  15. KL what a win for you both. My Zedley is a very patient, laid back fellow, but one of the vets in the local practice he totally dislikes. I believe this is because she can be checking him over but chatting to me. When she cut his nails (first and last time for her) she made two of them bleed and did not notice :D . There was blood all over the bench. Now he just as to see her and he tries to hide. I should have taken notice the first time he saw her - his idsposition immediately changed and I ignored it, bad mummy. Two other lady vets there he just cant please them enough and is all tail waggy to see them.
  16. That could happen as he barks all day when she is not there doesn't bother me but some of the neighbours will have a say as they are shift workers. He is a cute wee thing, but wants to get on my lap, and ticks Zedley off, he wants lap space too
  17. Lady next door has gone to work. She is looking after a Papillon for her friend for a few weeks. Half an hour ago another local person brought the dog to me (the local dog woman ). He had escaped, guess he is staying until my neighbour comes home. Fortunately him and my Zedley are OK together, he is house trained and uses my dog door. I think the dog is called Pierre.
  18. My neighbour has a mixed breed rescue (came as a young pup) who is always submissive. She meets lots of dogs, but on the first few times of meeting she will roll onto her back. Now she is more relxed around my Zedley. When she sees him now she gives him a smile and a lick and then it is game on
  19. Fantastic to have your dilligence and training recognised. What a very thoughtful person that 'gardener' is.
