  1. That is absolutely fantastic! It is so satisfying when the dog finally does as you say. Good training methods always shine through. WTG Tango.
  2. So sorry to hear this. My mini poodle had kidney failure (ontop of Cushing's disease). My vet pulled him back from the first failure with medication, but the second time we could reverse what was happening. None of this is very helpvul to you, but I am sending good vibes out for Doug, poor lad.
  3. Thanks for the update. So glad that Max and Zack are on the mend. I hope the council can make a good case and throw the book at the careless owner
  4. Welcome to DOL Hayley. I fell in love with Wire Haired Fox Terriers (WHF) in my youth. I used to help out at the local hunt in Yorkshire, and they had Wiries who I adored. The wife of the Master of the Hunt made me a gift of a Foxie bitch pup. She mentored me and I bred from my first girl. I kept one of her second litter bubs, but never used her to breed from. I got married and moved overseas and the dogs stayed with my Mum. When I returned to England I eventually adopted a dog from the local pound. It turned out to be a mini poodle. Since I returned to Australia to live I have had a black Mini Poodle (RIP) and I must say I really love that breed. I currently have a WHFT from a breeder in NSW who no longer breeds these dogs. He is sterilized and my failful follower ;) At the moment I have a Toy Poodle in as a foster, very cute, tiny thing.
  5. Jed wishing you well, and hoping with all my heart that you are on the mend.
  6. Good for you, lucky dogs to be found by a DOLer Doesn't sound like the owner is too bothered about the poor dogs.
  7. Oh fine, the animals have an adventure and the owners have heart attacks The worry they cause us, I only have the one runner lately, but that is no fun
  8. Welcome to DOL Jazzygirl. You have two beautiful dogs there, plus quite a handful of bubs . I help with rescue and I have a Red Heeler who is deaf and he looks a little like your Jazz. I am hoping to find him a nice family to hang with.
  9. Thanks, you are a star Just let me know that bank details etd., and the money will be there
  10. I am sure I asked for one in one of the many threads. Hesa could you please make sure that you have me on the list of those that would love a copy of the book.
  11. It is $1.00 per kilo here at Riverton Forum, BUT it has beef in it too - as Lenards are now selling some beef products. I used to use the chicken mince as they crush up the bones in it too, but Zedley being allergic to beef can no longer have it.
  12. I am so sorry that this has happened. Try not to bee too hard on yourself.
  13. Close to Mount Lawley is Maria of Click go the Shears 0415 195 957 1 Green St, North Perth WA 6006, Australia. This is just 5 minutes from the centre of Mt Lawley. Great vet in that area is Drew Masters of My Best Friend Vet Address: Unit 3/ 106 Oxford St Leederville WA 6007 Phone: (08) 9227 8666 again just 10 mins from Mt Lawley. Drew is a fantastic vet, took care of my mini poodle with his Cushing's. Maria did my grooming, and has pedigree dog of her own. She grooms just about any make and model of dog
  14. It has made me realise that he is a jealous boy, underneath that calm exterior. He is usually like my siamese twin, so for him to leg it off the property means he is not too happy. I've had fosters here in the past and I must admit he does get a bit strange, altho never angry.
  15. What a great Mum you are. Lady looks quite the 'thing' in her one person powered chariot
  16. No he is not!!! Go read Break out from the Stalag http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=196443
  17. I really do not think I have an FF on my hands, can't do that to my Zedley, he is such a sooky, lovable, fathful boy. Must tell him not to go sneaking into the computer room Edit for spelling
  18. Happy Birthday hope your day is as special as you are Julie.
  19. Last night my quiet, laid back Wire Haired Foxie head-butted an upright from the wooden gate at the back of the house: I thought that was the most secure area in my place After escaping the back yard the swine bolted to the front gates, pulled aside a 60 litre bag of soil improver, scooted under the gate in true commando style. He shot away, decided he was too p'd off the listen to recall (not his best subject anyway). It was dark, and after looking at the nearest houses I had to go back indooes, make safe the Foster Willy, grab a torch and go on the Foxie hunt. I visited his favourite neighbour dogs to no avail. I then decided that the ratbag had gone off to visit with BJ (yellos Lab who spent last year's hols with us). There I am in the dark park, hollering his name and shining the torch through the trees. Suddenly I hear click, click, click. Hey Ho it is the long nailed Zedley trotting back along the paved area, he had been to BJ's. He looked to darned pleased with himself, and even had the cheek to come up to me with a wagging tail I could have willingly throttled the little bugger I had closed up all areas near the front gates to keep tiny Willy in, little did I expect Zedley to take a snit at having a foster in the house. Zedley gets on well with all dogs of all sizes, he even eats his dinner without two feet of the foster. Guess he just dislikes that his littlie want to be on my lap (Zedders is not usually a lap-boy, well he is now ) Talk about heart attack. I am howver, glad it was Zedley who did the escaping (Willy was indoors on my knee at the time) and not Willy. I pretty much know where Zedders will head for, goodness knows where Willy would have gone. Bgt dual carriage way at the end of the cul-de-sac.
  20. The downright stupidity of some people
  21. You mean those begging eyes, Grace????? They are hard to look away from
  22. Casowner there is a mini poodle in my avatar. He is my heart dog. I know this is a huge temptation to have in my house
  23. This is Willy, a 5 yr old toy poodle, who came into foster with me last night. I could not get the little guy to face me and the camera :D If you look at the background you can see my Zedley's head snuggled into my reading pillow. Zedley always starts off the night on his blankie on my bed, when I put my book down he gets off and goes to his wn floor bed (his decision, not mine) Willy snuggled in beside me and stayed there for the night. Zedley got back on the bed this morning and the two of them just watched me tart myself up for the day Willy arrived around 7pm, had a bit of a whine, settled in and found the water and dog door. He asked to get on my knee and as soon as I picked him up (he is sooooo tiny) Zedley, the non lap-dog, lept up too. Guess he is not to be outdone. Right now I have one either side of my chair :D I know you are all camera hungry, so I will try and get something clearer for you to to perve on
