  1. Hahaha they are so cute! My 6 month old lab pup is sitting really badly because of our slippery fake wooden floors, do u think these would help or just drive her crazy?
  2. Hi BC crazy, what is cocos skin & coat? I use the flax seed oil but always up for ways to improve my girls health.
  3. I feed my 6 month old lab a mixture of black hawk, sardines, barf, yogurt, chicken frames, wings, necks, eggs and mixed veg (left overs from us) not all at the same time of course. I also add melrose omega 3 pet blend to her food. She is not crazy about kibble and I have tried advance, royal canin and BH but her coat is much much better on BH and it's cheaper too. Good luck with your lab. They are the sweetest pups in the world :-)
  4. ABC- I buy mine from the health food shops. Some don't have the specific pet one but I have also used the human one which is fine as well. I think the pet one is a little cheaper.
  5. Yes! I used to think it was cute when my girl used to chomp on them and then run away to tease us. Now after a very stressful morning of not knowing what was going to happen I have definitely decided that dogs eating socks are not cute, also picking up spewy socks are not much fun either :-)
  6. Yes a ratbag for sure. She is so cheeky. She has taken socks ever since she was a little baby, but never stood there, looked us in the eye and swallowed it. I think it was pay back for ignoring her naughty behaviour!!! :-)
  7. She spewed it up whole :-)
  8. Yes I am getting very worried. I dont know how she is going to get this big sock out of her :-( I haven't fed her yet, was waiting to talk to the vet but they are calling me back. Do you think I should feed her breakfast?
  9. Where can I buy liquid parrafin? She was so naughty, she stole the sock to tease us like she always does, so we tried to ignore her, and instead of dropping it like usual she just gulped the whole thing down. We couldn't believe it!
  10. My 6 month old lab ate a sock at about 1 this morning. She has been to the toilet and it hasn't come out yet. How long should I wait before going to the vet?
  11. Maybe the weather? I don't know but my skin gets dry and itchy in the cold, maybe dogs are the same? Have you tried flax seed oil? Melrose does an omega blend especially for dogs. It's meant to be really good for their skin etc. I use that and BH and my labs skin and coat has improved ten fold!
  12. I was offered several yellow labs when looking for my pup, they were beautiful but I love the blacks more. So I waited months for her and I got my perfect pup. It's not so difficult when it comes to labs though, only 3 choices really :-)
  13. Woops... I'm not very good at this! Where did you buy that ninja ball, I love it! :-)
  14. Thanks mason. I will definitely love to take you up to that offer. I use an iPhone and it won't let me access pm so when I get sorted I will pm you! Thanks so much again. It will be lovely to see a well behaved Labrador in the flesh :-)
  15. Wow your so lucky. I'm stuck on the boring side of the coutry in WA so will probably never get to do anything like that. Enjoy :-) did you buy an online course for recall? Something I haven't really thought about but if it's really great I might give it a go!
  16. Hi mason, you are so lucky. I would die for another puppy. My girl is almost 6 months and I'm so clucky already. Will have to get this one is check first, last week she entered her naughty stage. It was very sudden. She has lost her hearing and has decided to chew up papers if we go to the toilet or shower. Grrrr. I am waiting for my long lead from k9pro so hopefully we I get that we can start some serious recall. But I'm glad to know it's a lab thing and not an Olive thing :-) When did you start your obedience training? I am taking olive to classes on Sunday mornings at Carine but it's still very basic. If she ever gets her hearing back I would love to try out something like that, as I think it will be more fun for both of us than just regular showing. She is turning into a very pretty girl, but I'm biased of course and not sure whether she would meet all the standards for showing. But I guess time will tell :-)
  17. Hi buddy, Does the budget plan include illness as well as accidents? What did you decide to go with?
  18. Hi fatsofatsoman. I am only paying $31 per month for accident and illness with medibank and have no excess so it would be cheaper if I did. I would rather be covered 100% but petplan is quite a bit more expensive. Will have to call tomorrow and get the exact numbers. I definitey would struggle paying a huge difference if my girl was to get hurt so might just be better to suck it up and pay the little bit more per month I think.
  19. I am new to medibank insurance so this deal does not apply to me. Base on the fact that I will have to pay the extra 20% would I be better off swapping to petplan, which was the other company I was considering? I currently pay $16 a fortnight but would happily bump it up for better coverage. Any suggestions? With petplan do they pay the vet bill up front or would you still need to pay and claim back later?
  20. I have asked a very broad question about breeding before and been slammed by people for asking a question. It's not fair and everyone should be giving helpful advice or just not answering at all. It's hard enoug for a new puppy owner as it is, without being ridiculed for asking questions on a dog forum. In saying that i have had many many many more supportive and helpful comments. So to those people, keep it up. You are the reason I am still here looking for ways to make my girls life happier and healthier!
  21. Just checked out ruthless, they are beautiful but wow they are expensive over $150!!! Definitely not in my price range.
  22. Thank you wagsalot. Its is for a 6 month old lab. Would it be too big?
  23. Thank you. i check it out but its a small size :-(
