I'm trying to find details for Bruce Robertson to get an Eye Exam done. The phone number I have is no longer valid. Is he still in business? If not who do you see for your Eye Certificates in Sydney? I don't want to go and see Jeff Smith. Thanks

Thanks for this link. I have suspected this for while with my old girl (12) and this seems to confirm it. "scores between 50 and 80 indicate dogs with possible cogntive dysfunction. Your dog is showing behaviours indicative of Canine Cognitive Dysfunction."

Wow that's great service :D Anyone know the turn around time on the others?

Thanks, I'll check with my vet on who she is using now then.

Is he still out of action? I'm getting x-rays tomorrow and didn't know about this until just now.

Siberian Husky Skin Problem
polarpeak replied to jackson888's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi Jackson - are you sure your Sibe has fleas? It is unusual for them to get a lot of fleas - I have 10 and have never treated them for fleas - ever. Siberians can tend to get skin problems if they are lacking in zinc, many of the cheaper foods do not contain enough zinc to keep a Siberians coat healthy. From the pictures it looks more like a food based allergy to me but I could be wrong If he were my dog I would cleanse the area with an alcohol (Listerine works well) dry it and then cover with plain white zinc cream. If that doesn't work I would look at his diet - in particular beef and beef by-products. Try removing them for 3 weeks and see if there is an improvement. You could also try supplementing his zinc intake with Blackmores Zinc - I think it's called ZinVit or something similar. 1 a day until the condition clears and then gradually decrease to 1 a week or so. Hope that helps -
I find this a strange comment - I don't know of any that would stoop that low and if they did they they certainly are not ethical. However if you were concerned you could always sight the original certificate. Yep I'm human but I definitely do not have any breeding skeletons in my closet. That is not to say that I would tell the whole world IF I had an issue but I would most definitely tell anyone considering purchasing a puppy or using a stud.

No the NSW Club hasn't recieved any notification either

Seems we are talking about 2 different dogs here??? One "hypothetical' and one 'real' dog. Could be causing confusion - still fail to see where the said owners permission was given to talk about the dog's eye problem. If permission was given then surely we would be able to get more information on exactly what the condition and diagnosis was to have caused the eye staining?

I personally use monthly heartworm tablets but stretch it out further than a month. I only give C3 and my vet doesn't even do that yearly.

Looking For A Good Muzzle For Sibe
polarpeak replied to 4ngi3's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
No dog should ever be kept muzzled at all times. I can see from your previous posts that that is your intention. You would be much better off continuing down the path of a trainer than keeping your Siberian muzzled. -
Chin up. You were only doing what you thought was best for her, she's a lucky girl to have you

Hey MP I did a seach and found some of the old threads I was talking about. Have posted the links in the Sibe thread

I know you've had a few replies but thought I'd add mine too. I bought a dryer off them - great price, fast delivery and excellent back up service when I needed a new part. Nothing wrong with it - one of my puppies ate the filter :D

Do All Breeds Come Into Season Ever 6- 8 Months?
polarpeak replied to ~Anne~'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I only own one Basenji (Siberians are my first breed of choice) so don't know that I'm qualified to answer I think it is just because they are such an untouched ancient breed. I have been told Dingos are the same, so there could be some truth in it. -

polarpeak replied to ~Anne~'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Not only do Basenjis only come into season once a year, they all come in at the same time. Hence the "silly season" around Easter every year
