Where Is The Best Dog Friendly Place To Live With A Beach
lilmisssascha83 replied to seeana's topic in General Dog Discussion
It was definately Sasha and my dream too LOL. She loved being there last week in Tomakin. Its great cause the house we stay at is only 2 mins walk from the beach and there is a lovely cafe on the way to the beach too. Good luck though with your search, sounds like there are some great places out there. I might try exploring the other off leash areas near Tomakin that people have mentioned here like Broulee. -
Voted equally. i am a lover of both. cant help it. have one of each and the personalities are so different but both sweet. i think my cat is very attuned to me. will post pics later as im on my phone

Where Is The Best Dog Friendly Place To Live With A Beach
lilmisssascha83 replied to seeana's topic in General Dog Discussion
Tomakin on nsw south coast. tomakin has a 24hr leash free beach. the people are friendly there and most are responsible dog owners cleaning up dogs messes which is why it has stayed a doggie beach. Dogs love to go up and meet new dogs on the beach and have a swim and you can walk right around the beach to the river part. its close to mogo if you know where that is. Ive just come back. from my 4th visit there. ive now found a great pet friendly house to rent and wont go to any other place. barlings beach is next door and is beautiful to. it is time share except on a certain part of the year when its 24hr too. gorguz place. i dont know if location wise if its what your looking for but its definately a pl to look into you wont regret it. i feel in love earlier this year and have been back 4 times this year lol -
OMG I'm soo tempted with the Meerkat idea to get one for my girl. She too is fascinated by meerkats. Whenever we watch The Zoo on the tele and meerkats come on she sits there watching them. Its soo funny.

Help My Dog Has Forgotten Her Recall
lilmisssascha83 replied to lilmisssascha83's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Thanks for your replies. i practice at school, on our walks and at the park. i never call her when i want her to be put on lead i go and get her. Every walk i go on i take treats and her ball. we dont have a beach here so i practice everytime i go down to the beach so its only been 4 times. she also isnt fed before we go on our walks. when she does come i reward and then say free which means she can go back to running and playing. i will read the articles and try your suggestions. just didnt realise she could forget all shes learnt in a few days. -
Aww good on for taking the pup back home. the owners should maybe put the dog inside? if its scared glad you found the pup.

Help My Dog Has Forgotten Her Recall
lilmisssascha83 replied to lilmisssascha83's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
The guessimate is 3 or 4 ( she's a rescue dog). She has been doing very well at obedience school and we just passed transition class and can do novice or primary companion. We have 3 ribbons now, 1st 2nd and 3rd and her recall has always been one of the best things she does. So now I"m at a loss why this has suddenly happened? Or is there no reason? -
Hoping some Dolers can help me. It seems like my dog has suddenly forgotten her recall. DRIVING ME NUTS. Practice wise we practice every day and this is one thing she is usually quite realible at but this week we went to the beach and it was like she didn't even have learnt her recall. We were now just practicing but again she is fine when she knows we are practicing but when I actually need her to respond then she doesn't. Its just so frusterating. So looks like the long line is coming back out but I would love to hear from anyone else who has experienced this problem. Usually when we go and she has playtime at dog school she can play with the other dogs and I can call her and she comes. She's also use to be fine in the offlead areas but this week she just seems to have "forgotten" her recall. Its soo embarrassing.

Mine doesn't she chases any ball ( even if it's not hers) but one of the dogs Sasha plays with is like your dog. He's very picky about playing with certain balls, he must chase after Sasha's ball ( they have the same, but Sasha's is red and his is blue) and Murray may chase Sasha's and then start coming back to us, then realise it's not his ball and then just drop it. He's a cute dog though. He also will take his brother's ball and then stand there trying to figure out which one he wants. yesterday his brother had the glow in the dark ball though and murray wouldn't touch it.

Aww he doesnt look happy to be in the pound at all. looks much happy at ams place.as for wet dog fur i can relate. why must they share it with us? i took my girl to the beach today and it was like she was showing me how proud she was that she was all sandy and wet
