Paganman - yes he was very wobbly esp on his back legs when i picked him up and pretty scared :-( i wanted to take him for a little stroll before i put him in the car because he prob hadn't had one in a couple of days and to 'empty' his bladder etc before we started on the 2hrs drive back home but his legs just weren't up to it. i crouched down and patted my legs to encourage him to come for a cuddle and he came with his head bowed down then as i lifted my hand to pat his head he cowered down to the ground like he was expecting me to backhand him. I wondered if maybe his last owners had hit him. However after the ride home receiving constant pats from the girls and them saying "ohhhhhh Buster your a good boy" (LOL) he seemed to just have trust in us and hasn't reacted the same way since. I think meeting Boss and Bailey and getting some water and food helped him a bit to. He didn't run much last night mainly chewed on bones but i was surprised at how he came out of the laundry this morning, prancing about head held high full of energy. Like he didn't even have surgery yesterday. Yeah i wouldn't be telling his owners he has been saved because they will no doubt always blame Buster for his "bad" behaviour rather than realizing it was their fault for not researching the breed before purchasing and then not bothering to train/spend time with him. You know what they prob will get another dog one day, hopefully they won't get a ACD again, hopefully they'll get one more suited to their lifestyle.

its horrible to think what could have happened to him today :-( and that it is no doubt happening to some poor doggy somewhere around australia, so so sad. but we're very happy we could save Buster with the help of the lovely ladies at pound rounds and Alex is happy that he gets a new best friend. Hes very excited about meeting him this arvo//evening :-)

Yeah he's such a lovely boy, he just joined in with Boss's morning training i really don't think he needs much work, just consistency. He Easily Sat for a treat, he doesn't drop on command yet but would follow the treat in my hand into drop easily, didn't have to use a 2nd hand to push his shoulder down he just followed the treat down.

Morning Everyone :-) Sorry i didn't get on last night, it as a bit of a rush getting home, introducing Buster to our boys, getting my girls to bed then i realised in all the days excitement i'd forgotten to organise dinner for my hubbie and i lol the dogs had bones etc but we had nothing so going to the shops cooking etc and i didn't get to take photo's until this morning. Well he is such a big sook, he just wants to be cuddled and loved. He had no worries settling in with our dogs. Boss thinks all his christmas's have come at once because hes got a play mate. Bailey (very confusing with all the 'B' names lol) is a small terrier x shitzu type dog at at 9.5yrs old so isn't as playful as Buster is. He's a bit grumpy to so he got to sleep in our room last night while Buster and Boss got to snuggle in the laundry :-) So after introducing himself to Boss Buster found himself a bone and lay down to chew happily meanwhile Boss bounded around him trying to encourage him to play. They've had alot of fun together. My brother in law is coming around lunch time today then he'll have his 4hr car trip home :-) Here are some photo's of him and Boss (it was hard to get any good ones, he was constantly moving) please excuse the grass i need to mow the lawn.

Thanks for all the background, yep Alex will have him trained up in no time ;-) He's retired now and lives in town but goes for a couple of walks throughout the day. He mentioned a couple of months ago he'd like another cattle dog to keep him company (he's the type of man that thinks animals are better company than humans at times). He wanted one around the 1-2yr mark so i've been keeping an eye out on the urgent rescue threads. There was another one that i showed him last week and he was very excited to be getting his new friend but we missed out as he had already found his forever home :-) Alex was a bit upset though because he'd gotten exited about it iykwim. However the good news is i'd been in contact with pound rounds about him so when this guy (Buster) came in on monday only to be put on the pts list for fri they called me up and told me about him and well long story short he's found his new home :-) Only an hour until i can leave to go pick him up :-) yay i'm very excited, so are my girls! they're very happy that we get to go get poppy's new dog for him I came across the dolforums earlier this year and fell in love with a boy that was on a pts list he is gorgeous. He has found his forever home now to. The work all the people involved do is amazing and esp the foster carers to :-) I can't wait until we can become foster carers. We have 2 dogs of our own and a cat and 2 kids. My DH wants to wait until the girls are a bit older so they understand the process a bit more iykwim. They would get attached to every dog. She still breaks down into tears and needs a good cuddle every now and then about our last dog (Jacko), he got pts 2 1/2 yrs ago now. She was only 3yrs old but still remembers and loves him. Anyway enough rambling from me lol i'd better get something ready for our overnight visiter ;-)

Buster Thank you :-) Any extra info would be great, its nice to know he is 11mths old. We were thinking he must have been closer to 12mths than 6mth because he looks fairly close to full grown. I will post some pics here tonight for you when we get him back to ours i you'd like :-)

Hello Double Lab Love, Are you talking about 07816 blue cattle that was on the kill list for this fri at blacktown pound? if so i have good news for you :-) He is at the vet getting desexed, vac and chipped right now. I'm picking him up at 4pm and tomorrow he will be travelling up near Tamworth. My father in law has been wanting another dog for a while now and has had mostly cattle dogs or kelpie's his whole life (used to work farms). So he knows exactly what the breed is like and how to train them. So if it is 07816 then don't worry he will be with his new daddy for xmas :-) Do you know what his name was?
