Black Labrador Doing Some Cute Tricks :)
grizabella replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
What a clever boy! And he looks very fit too. :) I agree with Esky the husky, he'd be a great dancer! :) -
Skineez are very well loved by Bella, she loves flinging them around. She also loves her Kong Wobbler, and you just can't beat a nice bouncy ball for lots of fun playing. :) Basically, anything that squeaks, bounces or dispenses food!

I'm so sorry for your loss, it must be especially hard to lose two in such a relatively short space of time. That's a really beautiful memorial for them, very special. I did a digital portrait of our old golden retriever, Tiggy after she passed, it's not very good, but I might post it if I can find where it is.

My sister knows a Bernese Mountain Dog named Burger. :) I really like very human-ish names for dogs.

She's stunning, you must be so proud!

If I were to suddenly pass away, Bella would return to her breeder, as she is on a co-ownership. We live with my mum at the moment, but though she loves Bella, she's not really interested in being responsible for an energetic young Saluki!

Gosh, they are cute!

I would say a Whippet probably wouldn't be appropriate if you don't want a dog with high prey drive, although some do get along very well with smaller pets. Being sighthounds, they love to chase.

Career In Something To Do With Dogs
grizabella replied to Leelaa17's topic in General Dog Discussion
Maybe handling quarantine sniffer dogs? I had a look on the website and there are a few months training but could be an option? Possibly looking after dogs on quarantine from overseas? I couldn't find anything about that on the 'careers' section though. -
Very, very sad. It must be especially worrying as the zoo houses other species of rhino that may or may not be at risk as well. The situation facing wild rhinos is horrific at the moment, the captive population must be so precious. How terrible for the keepers as well.

I save any plastic shopping bags for backyard 'poop duty', but we don't I use dog poo bags that come in rolls from the supermarket for walks. Shopping bags are just a back up for if I run out because they are much bulkier, and we don't usually have too many around anyway as we use reusable bags for shopping.

How Old Have Your Last Dogs Lived?
grizabella replied to Blackdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
This is such a beautiful thread, so many special dogs. We gave our beloved Golden Retriever, Tiggy her wings at seven. She'd been suffering from awful seizures from what was suspected as a brain tumour. Tiggy came into my life when I was eight and just getting over my fear of dogs. She was a beautiful, loving and very special girl. gif image hosting -
Yes, I'd love a giant breed, but the shorter lifespan in a bit off putting.
-
So many breeds I'd love to own (as well as Salukis, not instead of) :) My 'hopefully one day' list at the moment is looking like this: Afghan Hound Leonberger Brittany Border Collie Irish Red and White Setter ...and a Greyhound in several decades time as my old lady breed! Many, many others that I'd love to own but probably won't get around to doing so.

Bella (Baghdad Cool Coquette) and I will be starting showing probably in May, but possibly before then. We're taking showing classes at the moment. jpg image hosting

I LOVE his collar! :D Very handsome. :)

Love the ad! :D

In the house, in the old house we did have a doggy door to go outside which she never used. I feel more comfortable with her indoors.

Bella was already named when I got her, but I gave her a full name Grizabella after the character in 'Cats' because she's a grizzle.

I'll have to comment on everything individually later as I won't have time now. Such terrific shots, I'm loving seeing them all so much! Here's 8/52- post bath 8/52 by panGH, on Flickr

According the Disney Lady was a Cocker Spaniel (assumed American Cocker). What's the original book? I always thought that it was an original story by Disney. That video is adorable! :)
