I'm back from two weeks in South Africa, I spent most of the time volunteering at Chimp Eden sanctuary, but also visited Kruger National Park. She is just stunning! Andalusians are one of my favourite horse breeds, so beautiful. Really gorgeous photos too. :)

Love this thread! Five months free picture hosting 17 months image upload

Congratulations!! Obi got one too, even though he was the only dog in his breed there it was still a bit exciting  Even being the only one it's still a thrill getting those first points!

Bjelkier, what gorgeous, fluffy babies! My 'rising star' Bella got her first 6 points last week, we're officially on our way!

Bella got her first CC today. :) I took it home and realised her name has been spelled incorrectly (even after I'd corrected the misspelling in the catalogue). Do I need to contact someone to get it fixed up?

I'd be interested to hear as well, Bella had a small op a month ago and the hair's still not completely grown back where the IV went in. I expected to be all grown back by now.

I've gotten waaaaay behind, but hopefully I can get back into this! Fab photos everyone! Here's one for this week of Bella: Bella by panGH, on Flickr

Personally, I wouldn't purchase a bully type breed except from a registered breeder (for me this would be the case even if it wasn't for BSL) for fear of it being seized and put down. I do think it is irresponsible to breed dogs that are likely to fit this standard (except for ANKC registered bully types). Way too much of a risk I think, and cruel to the dogs and the owners who will suffer from BSL. I just can't get over how ridiculous these laws are. Innocent lives taken, and I can only imagine how heartbreaking it must be for the poor owners.

Lovely pics! This has to been one of my favourite threads on DOL, so many gorgeous photos! Here's my 'pack-of-one', my dear Saluki girl Bella (I'd love to have a pack of about four one day) upload pictures

'HoundTogs' also looks like they have good coats for sighthounds. 'Blue Willow' coats look fab as well. Bella had a Weatherbeeta style coat which she absolutely hates, she runs away from me when she see's me coming with it. She's borrowed friends' coats and definitely prefers them more lightweight and sighthound shaped. I'm looking at getting her a new outdoorsy coat as she just has an indoor one at the moment.

Fabulous photos! I especially love the one of Raz. Looks like the hounds all had a ball! -
Hmmm... so many pups to name! Royal Flush (though it sounds a bit toilety to me) ... will have to do some thinking!

Thanks so much for all the great help everyone! I had my first shows this weekend, the first with a friend's Saluki and today with my Bella. A tiny Saluki entry so not terribly impressive, but Bella got Reserve Challenge Bitch andwas such a good girl. I'm very proud. :) Can't wait for our next show!

I'm also very interested, Bella wasn't old enough last time and I'm sure she'd have a blast doing it now! :) -
Going To Bed Without Chewing Stitches
grizabella replied to grizabella's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Before having it stitched up she wouldn't chew her foot if it had a sock and small small bandage, I'm hoping she'll be fine with that tonight. She's been sleeping at the end of my bed recently and I never go to asleep until after she is, so I think we should be fine. Fingers crossed! -
Going To Bed Without Chewing Stitches

Thanks, I think I'll try that. :) -
Poor Bella's in an Elizabethan collar at the moment to keep her from chewing stitches on the bottom of her foot. Previously she had a bandage on that went up her leg, but it wasn't replaced as it's caused a sore on her leg. The problem is, Bella won't put her head down to rest with the cone on and won't even attempt to move to get herself comfortable. I really don't know how she's to sleep tonight with it on. Are there any ideas anyone can suggest to keep her stitches safe during the night (she chews her feet while self-grooming) so she can get some sleep? Maybe a small bandage just over her foot?

7 Week Old Cane Corso At The Off Leash Park :(
grizabella replied to RiverStar-Aura's topic in General Dog Discussion
Just awful, I feel so sad for the poor little girl, I can imagine it must be so traumatic for a puppy so young at a dog park with aggressive dogs. I just can't believe the owner, people like that really should not be allowed dogs. -
I've admired the Hovawart for many years now, gorgeous dogs! I'd love to meet one...

This is probably a very silly question, but I'm curious- are ribbons awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class? What about for BOB and CC?
