  1. So sorry that you've lost your beautiful boy. Thinking of you at this difficult time. Rest in peace dear Toby, you were, and still are, so loved.
  2. She's stunning! Congrats on your loving new home Chloe! :D
  3. Bella whines when I brush my teeth, it seems to bother her for some reason.
  4. Floss is GORGEOUS! Ooh, I'm a sucker for a baby Belgian... they're definitely on my 'one day' list!
  5. I'm sort of planning for my next dog now, and that won't be happening for a good few years at least, not until I've finished studying and left home. I'm mostly looking into what breeds I think would suit, what sorts of sports I'd want to give a go etc. and I've been checking out breeders' websites, mainly just for the purposes of getting a better idea of the breed at this point. I'm thinking my next dog may be a border collie, but the possibility of a second Saluki is rather tempting as well! I like planning things way ahead of time, whilst keeping in mind that it's hard to say what circumstances will be like in say four or five years time. The plan is for Bella to be somewhere between 5 and 7 years old when dog number 2 comes on the scene, so there's a fair age gap, but not too much. :) I do lots of daydreaming several years in advance about future dogs.
  6. A very cheerful witch :) upload pics
  7. Bella's doing really well on Earthborn Holistic Primitive Natural. I've used Black Hawk in the past and thought it was very good also, but I don't find it as convenient to buy as I usually pick up most of my dog stuff from Pet Stock.
  8. Hi everyone, thought I'd better join this thread as my Bella is reactive towards other dogs. I'm thinking about going to a behaviourist as we've not been making much progress (whenever she seems to be getting better she gets charged by an out of control off-lead dog and she just gets worse again). I am a bit worried about the price of getting a behaviourist to look at her and whether it's worth it if the problem still probably isn't fixable? Bella's reactive on walks, barking and growling at other dogs. She's always walked on-lead. I've found that in situations where there are several other dogs she is not reactive, but nervously interested in them. This is also the case in some parks (not dog parks), and she's met and got along with other dogs in these places. She's fine with other dogs (though usually a bit nervous at first) at obedience lessons and shows which she enjoys, and she loves meeting new dogs for play dates. It's just on walks that she barks and growls at dogs, even if they are far away.
  9. I should be there with Bella. :) Anyone else going along?
  10. How wonderful! Cougar is a lucky girl indeed, and she sounds so lovely! Can't wait to see pictures! :D
  11. That is so lovely! Such a kind man, Schoep is a very lucky dog.
  12. Bella and I bonded pretty much straight away, she slept on my bed on her first night home and has been 'my dog' ever since. Whenever we come home to her she always makes sure I get the first cuddle. :) I was a little worried at first that she'd take a long time to bond with me because I didn't get her as a small puppy, she was more than five months old- my worries were unfounded!
  13. If you let the steward know that it is your first time, they'll help you out and let the judge know you're a newbie. :) I'm very new to showing as well, and it made me feel a lot less nervous once they knew I was just a 'learner'. I'm sure someone more experienced than me will be able to give you more advice. :)
  14. I'm using a 'Black Dog' 11 metre line, always with a harness. After losing a bit of skin off my fingers I now wear grippy riding gloves when using the long line.
  15. Ah, thanks for sharing! I love the Salukis, I know what I want for Christmas now! :p
  16. I'll have to see if I can come along with Bella to one of the two, will have to check the diary. It's about time she attended her first DOL meet up. :) 'Bark in the Park' especially sounds good fun.
  17. She really is gorgeous! Looks so happy as well, what a beautiful girl!
  18. My goal with Bella is to enjoy her, and have her enjoy me! I want her to live a very long, happy, healthy life full of lots of fun! I'd like her to get her Australian Championship title at some point, but no rush- we're in it for fun! I'm hoping that eventually we'll get to the point with her obedience training that we could give agility a go, I think she'd enjoy it. :)
  19. He is just gorgeous! Congrats, I can imagine how excited you must be! :)
  20. Just checking back again, is there any news on potential dates? I'm rather pleased that it will most likely be at 10:30, so not too early a get up. :)
  21. That would be just super. I can't wait to give it a go with Bella. :)
  22. Is it looking like there will be another lure coursing date in the near future?
