hi I would be interested in more info regarding this dog? I have a jap spitz who is 12yr old and I feel needs some company after change of circumstances in my household. How does this dog bond with others?

We have two dogs, one a pom and my dog, a jap spitz. The dogs have always been a little bad when it comes to barking, but it seems to have gotten worse. I am no longer working and so am home a lot more, but prior to that, I was still home pretty much all day except for about 2 hours in the morning. Anyhow, my neighbour let me know this afternoon that my jap spitz is barking, but its more the panting that she is displaying that is worrying the neighbour. She said it only happens when I leave, and she said its like she is having a panic attack. The spitz is 6 this year and the pom will be 5yrs. We had our first daughter arrive 2008 and number 2 arrives in about a month. The dogs have always been inside dogs and this didn't change when our daughter arrived and won't change when bub 2 arrives. The other thing worth mentioning is the constant licking that the jap spitz does. It was horrid when she first came to us after being rehomed, but it did settle. This does though still happen. She also will come up and rub her chest on my foot when I sit cross legged! Its like she doesn't ease up and needs my attention every minute of the day no matter what. Sorry its a novel, but I love her dearly and we need to get this sorted out for the families sake and of course hers

Hi Slvaangel, Had a look at your website, I feel my girl is of the same look as your bloodlines. I hope that my girl didn't come from a puppy farm, but that is something that is out of my control, and I guess I am just lucky to have such a awesome dog I have actually been in contact with Havenden in the past, in relations to Cola He is just gorgeous!!!! I see they have just had a litter. Have you always only breed JS or other breeds as well?

Hi Slvaangel My girl was actually a rehoming situation from Sydney. I had her flown up to me I contacted all the breeders down that way to find out if she happened to come from any of their litters, however I got not one reply The orginal owner said she purchased her from a breeder, hence the fact I contacted all the breeders I could find listed, but sadly got no response. So the litters you have tend to look leaner as opposed to stocky?? We currently have her and a Shitzu we inherited from my sister, however we would love another JS. Having said that, knowing how excentric they are, we are a little hesistant?!

Hello all Slvaangel, where abouts in Queensland are you? I am on the Northside, I know that Spitz breeders are few and far between. I have a lovely little girl who will be 2yr old this month. I haven't measured how tall she is, but the weights that you are all comparing, makes my girl seem tiny?! She only weighs approx 7.5kg. Is this ok? I have come across another JS in my area, and her nose compared to the other dog is quite longer, the other dog was quite short and stumpy. Overall my girl looked longer and leaner as opposed to this other dog that was short and stocky all over. Any thoughts on this? Tara
