Are you serious??? which bit??? or German Pinscher Which bit is a good question. It raises the query which part of the anatomy can most reliably be used to determine the 'breeds' of a X? I think ears are a dead giveaway.

Inside Toilet Training For Adult Dog
Tralee replied to Lady Flying Furball's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Dogs don't usually like to soil their den. One observation with puppies is that they will often choose rough areas like carpet over 'lino' or floorboards. The way forward then is to restrict your 5 year old Papillion from venturing on to the carpet, and put a blue pad on a rough base, for him to use when he needs to toilet. Good Luck -

So, thanks for the 'heads-up' about depigmentation. It means we can go ahead and show the young girl with her older brother. BB, Bb and bb are pairs of alleles Our lecturer at Uni used to make a point about Mendel being an Augustinian Monk, who did his best work on Genetics in a Czechoslovakian monastery. His insinuation was that Mendel had some Divine help in choosing pisum sativum for investigation. At this time of year, I find it useful to reflect on the fact that Darwin was religious and so was Einstein and Newton. Thanks again  -

It would be a punnet square except they aren't four offsrping but Sire, Son, Daughter and Dam. If we; Let Pigment be: PP and pp, and Coat be: CC and cc; with full pigment being dominant to incomplete, and Horse Hair dominant to Satin Hair then we have: Sire Dd/CC, Dam Dd/cc, Son DD/Cc, Daughter dd/Cc, where, in terms of the standard, the son has an improvement in pigment and the daughter has an improvement in coat. Here are two snaps that show the difference in coats more distinctively. (Horse hair coat and Satin coat respectively) -
Amazing I particularly like the 4th one. My dogs love the beach but they won't go near breakers.

Illegal For Dogs To Wee On Nature Strip Now?

not as funny as it sounds. My neighbour put up a fence, on the north side of the property, 30 metres inside the boundary and then aggressively and violently attempted to take possession of it. I'd just tell your neighbour that you own the land in front of your house, from your front fence to as far as the distant horizon, and that he has to go around it and not walk across it unless he specifically asks for permission in person, each time he needs egress and you provide him with written permission in triplicate. -
Well sallyandtex You certainly seem to have the correct attitude about dogs and children. Children should never be left unsupervised when around dogs. Quote: "Dogs don't see children as people." end quote. Not quite my sentiment, being a Maremma "owner." That is a horrendous situation that should engender the greatest outrage. Leaving dogs and toddlers unsupervised condemns both the child and the dog, however my sentiments are with the child. You might note that the Maremma pictured is a cross-bred. With ears like that it has some 'rogue' elements in it. Maremmas' are wary of strangers and being a guardian breed and will also defend against a perceived threat, child or not. Why indeed! There is no place for complacency when dogs and children are concerned. This story is clearly a case of carelessness and neglect. It's not the dog that should be euthanased. You can bet your little cotton socks they do. They wouldn't let their children play on the highway, or then again maybe they would. Poor baby, I hope he will be OK As a final note. I once knew of an obese, lethargic, necrotic old mongrel that spent it's time wallowing in decrepitude who was left alone with a 'rug rat'. Guess what. It mauled the baby's face to shreds. Best lesson. Your dogs with other people: strictly a No No!

Greytmate Please have a look at "Arawn Bladewyn Chalice", third from the left, in front of the yellow bowl. She is also Pink Nosed. Do you think she could be shown, the same as the others? By the way, FYI, the dog on the far right, is a Satin Coat Maremma, another sub-type. -

The nose is definitely depigmented. The angle of the photo keeps the light from illuminating his most distingusihing feature. The colour (lack of colour) is clearer here. -

I consider bones are essential. They have fresh chicken twice a day, and a weekly pin bone, or lamb and beef off-cuts. With four dogs they must be supervised and the finished bones removed. I usually smash the bones so they can get to the inaccessible marrow, and then they're all finished.

Puppies will make themselves vomit. It's something they do, they seems to know which grass to eat as well. My girl would drink sea-water and then vomit, and then do it again the next time. My four dogs still eat grass to make themselves vomit. Having said that, you will know if it's the same thing or something to be watched closely.

No The Google list order is based on popularity, or the number of recent hits. So, it can change overnight, or from hour to hour. Must say the site is ill-conceived, poorly constructed and a nightmare to navigate. I did notice some people have added themselves. That's their prerogative.

It's OK B.App.Sc., B.Sc., Grad.Dip.Ed., among others. 20 years secondary school teaching of Science and Agriculture. I'm not against close breeding. Maybe it could be done with a simple approval procedure. Something like an adjunct to the Breeders Prefix Pretty soon, we are not going of be allowed to "think" for ourselves, and education will become redundant.

Advertised On Redlands Freecycle---disgusting Attitude! Poor Dogs
Tralee replied to Boronia's topic in General Dog Discussion
My idea is that it could be an opportunity to raise Cath's awareness of what is a more than too often common occurrence. No doubt, the person/people she got them from haven't got a clue. You've done well Boronia. -
It seems to me that the question is: "Is my half-sister, my sister?" Most definitely, she is and more adamantly, I am her brother. But the bottom line, as stated in the preamble, is: "Has the university research been able to substantiate that half-matings compromise the health of the offspring", in the same manner that they were able to conclude sister/brother matings do. It may be that the recommendation is inclusive of half-mating. Then how far will they go? I've got a pair of first cousins. Edit; doh!
-
Half-sibling matings are going to be problematic because, in effect, they can throw puppies with the same chromosome sets as full sibling matings.

It would be productive to have "Cath" contact the people she got the dogs from and let them know their role in this debacle. You never know, Cath might realise what she's done wrong. -

Pt 1. It's good to know they have their priorities sorted, have mastered time management, and feel close to the soil where they might be more comfortable. Pt 2 Unlike them of course who didn't know how to handle this breed, or knew what to expect, or did their research before taking them home. Pt 3 How are they going to recognise a good home when their own standards are so impoverished? There is more to that add than meets the eye IMO. They've invested in dog runs but don't want dogs. The dogs are an opposite sex pair, old enough for mating. The eye colours are marketable particularly in potential offspring. You Sibe guys should do more than 'rescue'. You need to get your detective caps on. Good Luck -

Yes but that makes too much sense, Steve. Is it really possible to make too much sense? If the way forward can be seen clearly, if it just shines with truth, then that is the direction we must take. please take this religious mumbo jumbo to another forum where it wont offend people you make no sense at all Jaxx's Buddy Posted on: 5th Dec 2010 - 9:10 am Quote: "this is a forum where people give their views. who are you to be disgusted with what anyone says. keep you personal insults to yourself and stop your attacks on forum members when they dont agree with you" end quote.
