Heartstopping Occurrence.....strange Child In My Yard
Atanquin replied to ellz's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm wondering that too. Must be a very nimble 5 yr old! My 7 yr old can't even manage the lower gates  Assisted by the trampoline and swingset that the parents have kindly installed in their yard, right on my fenceline and the fence struts being on their side of the fence as well. But believe me, it is secure under "normal" circumstances and gates kept locked as well. But that said, I also have teenage children so why do I have to "childproof" MY property?? I dunno my brother was able to get of his cot when he was little and managed to get on the kitchen benches some how. He was just a climer my mum was always worried about him -
$7000 Reward Offered To Return Lost Dog
Atanquin replied to Red Fox's topic in General Dog Discussion
Poor women I hope she finds her dog -
His name isn't the thig I'm really worried about its my name and address that is the one that concerns me
-
That poor poor woman. That is what I fear in my little town sometimes we walk past so many house that have dog aggressive dogs big and small. had a little dog just yesterday run over snapping at me and zorro, he was so scared I picked him up poor thing but at least it wasn't a big dog. Some dog owners need a kick up the bum!!
-
I dunno I think she just misspelled it like everything else if my name and address had been correct then I would have thought it was maybe just unavailable but yer, Anyway I will give the cccq a call on Monday and find out what I can do
-
It's been spelt Zora on the paper not zorro and every thing else is wrong my name the address the post code just a muck around as it's already taken so long. I gave her: call me zorro or zorro the masked one As my 2 chooses
-
Okay I will try the canine council on Monday. They are the ones that deal with the papers aren't they?

Do You Refer To Yourself As Your Dog's Mum/dad?
Atanquin replied to RubyStar's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes I'm always asking zorro where daddy is LOL! OH is always saying "he knows when mum is home" he he he -
Oh sorry, its been going on for about 7 months now I first emailed her a month after I had got him with regards to the papers as that's how long she said they could take, she didn't reply for about 2 weeks so I sent her another email and called her and well just nothing I did think it was because she was advertising that she still has pups and might have alot of emails, but I feel even worse now she always has pups advertised. But yet I just need to know how to change the details do I need the breeder to ring up as well or can I just do it?
-
Okay zorro had his papers arrive finally but my name address and even zorro's name is all wrong no wonder it took for ever to get here. Been calling and emailing the breeder non stop about it but that's only because she will not answer my calls or the emails and I know I gave her all the right info I was there when she wrote it down. How do I get it changed? I first sent her just a poilte email telling her zorro was great and was doing wonderfully I also told her about his testical not being dropped in just a poilte way just informing her about and asked about his deformed toe. I feel bad she was so chatty when I was inquiring about a pup had all the tests done and sent me pic of the dad and told me all about her dogs. I saw the mum when I picked him up she seemed laid back and healthy. Just upsetting because she seemed like a breeder that would give life time support if I had questions rant over
-
Zorro is going in on tusday for his op he has a shy testical as well. I waited a bit long than 6 months because I wanted to see I it would come down but no it doesn't look like it will yes I was quoted about $400 for his desexing is the worst case scenario as it depends how long it takes to find. I contacted my breeder about it just to tell her but no reply I all so wanted to ask about his deformed toe but still no reply which has disappointed me
-
I think everyone should always ask!! Zorro is totally fine and will never bite if some came up and patted him he is even fine if someone stands on him he won't bite or lash out he is such a sweet soul. But I had a GSD and I trusted him out in public but he is a guard dog and some people he didn't like so I was always careful and I would always stop people from just patting him because I would like to watch him and have him sitting rigt next to me. I was always taught by my mum to never pat a strange dog with out permission because you don't know what the dog is like.
-
That is such a sad story hope she is saved
-
zorro gets random cuddles all the time!! Got pulled over for a random drug and alcohol test zorro was buckled in next to me and the 2 officers came over and asked if they could pat him lol because he was so cute!!! I understand people not wanting their dogs patted for many different reasons. I alway ask if Its okay to give the dog a pat. Oh well my crazy cocker loves strangers and looks so disappointed if someone ignores him and he will do a little cry. But that dosen't happen often I do find it hard taking him places sometimes tho because we don't get to far.
-
Zorro's are: Puppy wuppy Little man Squiggles And Andy's favorite for him: Little sh$&t Bobby's nick name is Bobby wobbles And rocky is a loner and dosen't have one poor horse lol well appart from mr grumpy but he is always like that

Would You Take Your Pup To The Vet On A Leash?!
Atanquin replied to Cavamum's topic in General Dog Discussion
I carried zorro in but he was little :) so that was easy. I do think we can be OTT at times. I took zorro out when he was 10 weeks old to the markets to the beach everywhere ( not that I got far having to stop every 2 seconds so people could have puppy cuddles) but he was little and easy to carry and if I was tired I would just get my mum to carry him which she loved :D I know there is a risk of parvovirus but you could have a freind come over and they could have it on them from saying hallo to another puppy or dog. -
Everything including lettuce that dropped on the floor. But at leat I know he is eating healthy ;)
-
Thanks for all the info guys, I would have to get OH keen on the idea first and still not sure I want another guard dog for a while I love them to bits but you do have less freedom and if I want to travel a little bit it would stress me out. I got a cocker because 1) I love gun breeds 2 )wanted an active dog 3) good around other animals like horses but not birds ;) 4) altho very loyal and totally dedicated to their human companion they will be happy being looked after by a friend or family as log as they get lots of cuddles :) If we ever wanted to go somewhere kovu was always a problem if we where gone more than 2 days he would then start to pine an would not eat his food no matter who he stayed with. So i would not get one till we had our own house as we would be paying that off and not doing much traveling. ATM zorro is great he missed me when I went away for the weekend but still had fun with my mum and got spoilt!! Also easy to take with us as he is not a big dog do less stress for me. I will still get him a girl freind and little black and tan cocker. But like I said when I get my own place I might another guarding breed :) and yes I will post pic of both lol thanks for all the info on them it's be great reading and good to know what I would be thinking of add to my dog family :)
-
I feed zorro 2 times a day because I believe it is better for them. Just do what you feel is right here is a good website http://www.about-cocker-spaniels.com/ Where are the pictures :)
-
But i didnt say I told him off just telling him not to be so excited. But not everyone likes being jumped on by a cute cocker spaniel so trying to keep him from doing that :) ;) He wouldn't be going down any steps so that is fine he would be on 5 acres of land and I love brushing my dogs and horses so grooming is not an issue and not would be training. Only thing that would worry me is if he got on with my other animals and zorro.
-
To be Honest I miss my gsd and his protectiveness :p I was always use to telling people to be careful entering the property and now I tell the dog to not be so over friendly.
-
Okay some of you may know that I have been thinking of another dog for a while and I had decided on just another cocker spaniel, But I have just seen the Tibetan mastiff and they are the most beautiful dog I have ever seen I am totally in love but I have one or 2 questions. 1) does anyone have one and what are like as pets 2) are tey good with other animals and dogs 3) how would they be with a dog of small size I don't have any experience with mastiffs but I have had alot of experience with GSD's I have grown up with them.
-
Yer I suppose he has to sleep some time, he is just normally non stop energy runs around the house runs around the yard and runs around the horses ( its cute he will actually run around and around and around my old horse while he eats, like he is doing laps)
-
Oh well I'm glad your all okay tho. Zorro will welcome anyone into the house with big puppy kisses and cuddles. But at least we would know someone was there from an over excited puppy. Not like my GSD kovu he wouldn't let anyone in unless we let them in. Then he was fine.
-
I was just wondering because its quite good and normal for a dog to spend a lot of time sleeping while you're out. It shows that they are content, and they know that the fun will start when your home so they might as well snooze the day away :) If he's not barking, crying, or destroying stuff, I wouldn't be worrying :) Thank you that makes me feel better. :) I just worry so much about my little man
