  1. I do have to say that a non restricted breed will guard a property just as well as any restricted breed we had a gsd in England to protect our property and us!!! But he was able to be taken of the property to be walked without attacking anyone at all or any other dog only time he went for someone was when I was alone and it was a shady man that walked over to me luckily I had him with me and got another lady's attention who came over to see if I was okay but he was a smart dog!! M current dog would let anyone in the gate and try to lick them to death lol but my point is many breeds out there that will protect you and your property with out be over aggressive and a danger when of your property and a joy to own fila's are a very protective dog very very loyal to there owner but Australia is not bad enough to need such a breed of dog trust me some that has live in lots of places and different countries
  2. Well done good show glad to see just an everyday member og public stick up for the breed well done
  3. Sandgrubber cocker rage is very rare indeed might crop up in a dog that was byb but very unlikely and it's not limited to cockers and it's a condition and if you read about it the dog doesn't know what it is doing and alot of research is being done on it but anyway my point is that is a rare condition that cannot be controlled very different to a dog that is aggressive because of bad ownership or just aggressive and is doing it out of choice so to speak
  4. Probably is dog aggressive but he was on a lead and did not actually attack so I dunno why this lady would have reported it sounds a bit funny to me sounds like this lady wanted attention and with all they hype with DA atm if the pup had bit her or her dog because he was not under control fair enough but it sounds like he was so I dunno
  5. Knew it wouldn't be long for them to move from pits to rotties didn't think it would be this quick
  6. i don't think it is too early zorro was sitting and also had down and speak all down pat by the time he 10 weeks!! just don't expect to much and i know some might disagree with me but i train my dogs the same as my horses slow steady CLEAR commands and when they start to look like they get what your on about instant reward treat or toy is up to you :D but zorro is now 17 weeks old and knows sit down stay wait ( i use this for his food he will wait until i say okay) speak shake roll over and bow remember slow and steady and just one thing at a time and do not panic just always be calm
  7. Just make sure your dog is inside and if it's not registered with the council then they actually have no right to take the dog as your the owner when you sign te council register papers then legally you don't own the dog but the council do . There is a bit more to it but might help to read about it if your worried I know I would be. You have to do alot of reading but would be worth it. If they find it of your property and thinks it's a pit then your a bit stuffed to put it simply there is a bit more to laws than meet the eye it also depends in the type but well worth reading
  8. just thought i should give everyone a zorro update he is going to the next stage in obedience next week yay he is such a smart cookie
  9. I have them for $9 they are not bad
  10. Dogmad where about in surrey are you from I lived in lower kingswood near redhill way
  11. Unfortunately that is east London it's hard there luckily I grew up I'm a posh area but we had to go there one time and I remember my mum telling me to never let go of her hand and if she told me to run that I should run until I find a police officer. It's not a nice place to live so that pitbull lady yer she gave me the creeps to I under stand why she would want a dog like that you never know what will happen. If I still lived in England I would have another GSD for protection that's why we brought our last dog kovu, over here I feel ALOT safer so no need to even really think about a guard dog. The people in the documentary might have been dead beats and I'm not defending them but it is hard over there and the lady who's son kept on skipping school well he is probably with the wrong crowd.
  12. i think it is great really shows people that breeding is not something to make a quick pound with. and potential dog owners that having a dog is a lot of money and you really have to be ready for it. its a good documentary should be shown over here.
  13. She said outside the tribunal that when she took Sophie back for a second mating, Robby wasn't interested. found it
  14. Too many bull breeds I don't know bull breeds, just not interested in them ( just find them ugly) sorry to the bull breed lovers but I don't think they are nasty dogs just attract the wrong owners, and the pictures where so small and bad quality
  15. Ha ha what if he was suddenly rehomed that might have been a surprise for the new owners ha ha ha your dog starts producing diamonds. Oh well I'm glad he is okay
  16. Humm I thing that bugs me is that he didn't let her have a second chance most breeders I know if their bitch didn't get preggers first time they normally provid a second meeting and then thats it if the male dog has the problem then she should get a refund but she needs to prove it's not her dog that is the problem which will be hard. But it sounds like there was no contract so she will just be laughed out of court. And next time she needs to make sure there is a contract and she should read it first
  17. I'm agenced Christians (I have a good reason) but that does not mean I wouldn't sell a puppy of mine to a christian family to me it comes down to are they good people and will they love and care for this pup and good old gut feeling that's the only thing that matters not your personal religious views.
  18. Hey guys I went to one last place and they lady said they got a call from health and safety and apparently they are the ones that said they are not allowed apparently some of the shop owners had asked if they could have a dog area outside but no it still and eating area. I have no problem with dogs outside and if you don't want to be near dogs when eating then go inside then everyone is happy but thats another topic thanks to everyone who responded very helpful
  19. Sound dogey to me both party's are to blame was there a contract? Would be nice to know
  20. Not my month just been to all the coffee/ cafe's in town they have alway let me and zorro sit out side with our coffee and have alway let other dogs as well but today no one is letting us sit outside for our coffee? Is there a crack down in qld about this I tried to asked the lady why as we had always sat there and that I understand inside not being allowed for obvious reasons but outside as well? She wouldn't tell me and looked a bit peeved about it but I think that's because she has lost a few customers. I talked to another lady that we some times see and our dogs say hallo and I normally have a good chat with and same thing with her too she tried a few other coffe shops that I didn't know about and they are all doing the same thing so I was wondering if anyone on here might have an idea ?
  21. I'm with your partner as you both sound responsible. We have never desexed our dogs, cats yes but try are hard to keep inside and out of bad behaviour ;) I think it makes a more balanced dog but that is me But still good on you for seen the problem with not desexing your dog it can lead to all sorts of problems which is sad
