this is one for the Gillard lovers ;) Julia Gillard was seated next to a little girl on an airline flight to Canberra . She turned to the little girl and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger." The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied, "What would you like to talk about?" "Oh, I don't know," said Julia. "How about global warming, refugee policy, or stimulus packages?" "OK," the little girl said. "Those could be interesting topics, but let me ask you a question first: A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass, yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose this is?" Julia, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thought about it and said, "Hmmm, I have no idea." To which the little girl replied, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss global warming, refugees, or the economy, when you don't know sh%t?" She then went back to reading her book.

My dog was kicked by my horse 2 times he was a gsd and was hurt not to badly tho thank god but yer my thought was if that had happened to a dog like a whippet it might not have been such good news Edit to say my horse is a 17 hand TB and hers is a clyd cross with big feet
-
Sorry this is a bit off topic but how are whippets around horses? My friend wants one and to go on rides with her but I thought if they where kicked or trodden on they might not hold up as well as other dogs?

I found it powerful reading that it is simple and I think it really gets the point across

EXCERPTS FROM THE CAT'S DAILY DIARY: Day 283 Of My Captivity. My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only Thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant. Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded; I must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair; I must try this on their bed. Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, not working according to plan. There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "Allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage. I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird on the other hand has got to be an informant, and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured. But I can wait; it is only a matter of time...

Atanquin replied to Ozone's topic in General Dog Discussion
Shelties are a lovely breed if you can keep up with the brushing everyone I know will give a warning bark. I would say a cocker but mine would so not give a warning bark and would lick the intruders to death lol, they have to be apart if the family they love their owners -

Getting A Dog And Stuck On Breeds, Advice Appreciated

Well I would go for a pure breed over a cross anyway but it comes down to the parents check they have been tested for the HD that dog can get make sure you can view the parents or at least one if them. Pure dog breeder usually do this and most cross breeds will be from a puppy farm or BYB where no health testing is done and most live in horrid conditions. Hope that helps -
I was giving him an hr walk to make him tired but it dosnt work so mitt cut it back to his old 1/2 hr

I think you should take her to see a cocker spaniel puppy from a breeder or a poodle I'm sure she will love them as well just ask her if she would like to see them and maybe ask her to come to a shelter as well also did he see the parents? Ask her that if she says no then tell her she should be asking to see them and where they grew up

We ride our horses on a private beach wehave permition to use it which is good but you will get people walking along it with there off lead dogs and I dunno how they miss the "private beach no trespassing" but thy do and then the dog will run and bark at the horses and once my horse kick the dog the owner went nuts all I said was" this is a private beach you and your dog should not be hear" and walked of I have met a one or 2 dogs that just calmly wall past and I normal say hallo to them as they are not causing any harm. -

Unable To Keep Dog Thats Under A Contract
Atanquin replied to pinkpuppy's topic in General Dog Discussion
I don't think they will be back on this thread anyway so but the idea is still silly to me if you sign a contract read it first if you don't like it don't sign ( if this was about the breeder not wanting to give the deposit back unless she signed that would be a different Matter altogether ) -

I like the idea a off lead dog park being an off lead dog park dogs can run around and say hallo to other dogs ( as long as they are friendly) and if people want to use then they can but they shouldn't complain if a friendly dog comes over to say hallo ( I'm a naughty owner my dog loves people and if he spots some one he will run over skid to a halt infront of them sit down and give then the cute droopy cocker look, at least he doesn't bark or jump at them ) -
