  1. OMG your dogs are sooooo cute!! What breed? Same as mine, cocker spaniel x poodle? Yeah im a bit stuck on how to bond them, im thinking keep them in seperate parts of the yard while we arent there then try bond them on walks together etc when were home.. I just bought one of those pens from bunnings, ill give that a shot to fence Charlie off in part of the yard, i dont know so may opinions it gets confusing! Guess i just have to see what works for us.. He will freak out though when i put him in there, i just know it! Any suggestions there? So hold old was your bigger dog when you introduced the pup? sooo cute
  2. Thanks so much, just bought one at bunnings, now just have to get past the barking that happens once i put him in as he's used to roaming free!!
  3. Thank you sooo much! Just the advice ive been after! Will get onto it
  4. Thanks, great advice :D Am going to look at big pens online so he isnt too confined, any recommendations? We have one that was my neices but he fits between the bars the cheeky little bugger! haha, so i need something he wont fit inbetween.
  5. Yeh good point, thats just what our vet told us, think cos things are more likely to breed in the grass, ticks etc. I will definitely question it at puppy school this week.. Cos oor older dog (11yo) is my partners, i wasnt around when he was a pup and my partner was like 15yo himself so i guess were relying on others to advise us at this early stage. He is so cute, i just want to let him run wild! Poor little thing.
  6. Hi there, thanks for your response, He has had his 1st vax and is due for his 2nd vax in two weeks then i was told not to let him go for a walk or on grass etc for another 2weeks after that. I have been taking him out with me when i can, after work , all weekend and just carrying him in my arms which he loves then coming home every lunch break to take him outside on the tiles. I agree and want him outside ASAP, do you think i should get a play pen for him and put him on the tiles outside? Cos we have an older dog i am wary leaving them alone in the yard together and have been warned against that but if he is enclosed in a pen he should be safe. We start puppy school this week so i guess i will find out more then. I am also worried he will bark all day if enclosed in a pen but at least he is out in the fresh air...
  7. thanks for that, we have started to take him outside when we can, he isnt quite getting the hang of it yet but im sure we will get there. He isnt allowed on the lawn yet cos he hasnt had his 2nd vax so i have him on a lead on the pavers every hour or so and when he wakes/ has had a big play etc. Cos he is inside all day while we are at work its hard to be consistent. I am thinking of getting a square of astro turf to have inside that he will hopefully use. What breed are your dogs, they are cute!
  8. Hello, Trying to puppy proof my house , we are trying to keep him from going outside til he is fully vaxed (only 10weeks) but need to open the doors for fresh air, have tried a kids play pen but he fits easily through the bars, any ideas? Materials to baracade off certain areas?
  9. Hello, I have a beautiful ten week poodle-x at home who i have only had for a week and i am really hoping to get him toilet trained asap. At the moment we have him indoors all day as he hasnt had his second vaccination so we soon hope to have him in the back yard with other (much older) dog. Anyway my aim for now is to try and get him to pee and poo in the one spot, or at least to learn not to do it on the carpet. We are lucky to have mostly tiles in his area and i have laid down a training pad sprinkled with attractant but this hasnt taken off. Its only very early days but just wondering if you have any tips. Ideally we want him to toilet outside but for the next month or so need an inside alternative. Appreciate your help :D
