  1. I'm in next year I'd love to join for the coming year... dont get our new pup till Feb, so we will be joining late. But it would be great to look back at how he has changed through the year... where will the thread be found? have they set one up yet? I will be posting photos here, not flicker... me no liky flicker. Not sure of our pups name yet. But looking forward to joining...
  2. Thanks for the link, I am hoping these chew things will save our couch....maybe? :D
  3. Good Call Gayle. I looked into rescuing a dog... but with kids I couldn't take the risk with all the X whatever's that I couldn't view their parents etc. not that I'm saying they can't be great pets. But being 'Responsible' is knowing that the dog you take on you can handle for its whole life, A breeder can give me that! At this stage of my families life... I choose an ethical Breeder, that is selective with the dogs they mate, because health and temperament etc. I'm saddened when I see facebook ranting... its a waste of time. And people can be so cruel over the internet... It's so sad
  4. I too would love to know where you get deer antlers, they aren't dangerous for a puppy?
  5. This is such a beautiful photo weibritty... framer for sure!
  6. Nah, too far away for my husbands work! bugger thanks for the offer, sound like a good deal for whoever is in it! The search continues...
  7. funny you say that... I called him the other day... he was so so uninterested and gave no real information! crappy service that's for sure... grrr I wasn't impressed either. We live in the area, but are away on holidays (bad timing to be away, but couldnt be changed!) thought we could try to avoid the realestate agents... they are such liars (had bad experience with a house that was badly mould affected, agent was dodge...long story!!!) Thanks for your Reply Tralee... Rural would be nice
  8. Still haven't found a place ... Just putting it out there... ;) available to move in Feb thanks all
  9. Great questions and answers. I have learnt alot from this thread... getting our new pup in feb. And haven't had a dog in the house for years... thankyou everyone for your answers
  10. I have been reading through the tagged General health information for dogs thread (which is GREAT), and couldnt seen any info on pro-biotics for dogs can we give them to our four legged friends... if so how much? or of not why? thanks
  11. Lennox Head, north new south wales is not only beautiful with great weather all year round...but there are HEAPS of dog beaches. Ballina/byron airport only ten mins away... Gold Coast an hour. We moved close to Lenox Head at the beginning of the year, its my fav place in the world, lovely people and great markets. Can highly recommend!!!

  13. My fav photographer... love her stuff! maybe because I have kids and NO dog yet http://www.felicitythomsonphotography.com/blog/
  14. Pepper... I think there are cute nicknames for this choice. I chose a name that can be shortened or easy to rhyme with, cause us aussies love a good nick name (This is a great idea, voting system for naming a pup. We are getting a dog after christmas, maybe I'll have to do this too. We are also struggling with deciding on a name!)
  15. becks- do you think it worked? Thanks everyone for your advice, I certainly dont take this lightly and will put my pets health before 'trials' of things. I just thought if someone has been using any natural remedies and know they work, I would give it a go. It the good thig about this forum... people with lots of experience can help us with not much
  16. Hi all, I have been researching alternatives for flea/tick control for our pup when he arrives. Has anyone got any great recipes or tips they can pass on... I've been looking into 'diatomaceous earth' a fossil type of dust that you can use to kill and get rid of pest on your dog and around the house. I've even seen doggie biscuits you can give with this 'DE' powder n them, to get rid of internal worms etc... The product is food grade and safe to eat. Has any used it? Thanks

  18. Thanks staffyluv, Have called most realestate agents in the area. They said having a dog makes finding a rental hard! I'm sure we will find something, Will give Ray White a call. I posted here hoping doggie people will understand my rental searching pain and maybe have 'CONNECTIONS'...hahaha
  19. Hi All... This family of four plus one fluff-ball (mini poodle) are looking for a rental in the northern rivers area. a 2or more bedroom, with good fences close to Goonellabah, Ballina or anywhere in between. 20. I have seen advertised when I started out looking for a dog a rotty X mini poodle (Roodle) ha... It was colours of Rotty with a shaggy poodle coat. I will never forget the photos of these poor dogs... every single one of them looked at you through the pics with at WHAT THE HECK happened to me kinda look! not the nicest looking dogs, but I'm sure they would have been lovely pets.
  21. I had a Rotty growing up and it LOVED LOVED the boxer down the road, they got along very well... my vote is Boxer.
  22. Can someone tell me what the address is? And if there is an entry fee for onlookers? Ta
  23. Good choices. :D Only two dogs I have ever wanted to own Bullmastiff and a British. I never thought I would be without a Bullmastiff, but opportunity presented itself to take the step into a British for the first time. I have to say I am very much enjoying the entertainment of a British Bulldog. They are comedy on legs. I thought BMs could be arrogant with painted on ears! A British makes them look very humble. For awhile there I thought SImon might be deaf. I will own a BM again, hopefully in a year or so, unless the British totally steals my heart. I would not choose to own a Dachie myself, but my sister owns one and he is a little bit cool and changed my opinion on the breed. But if you ever need convincing just ask.... I do love alot of dog breeds that I will stand and admire (to many to list), just not wanting to actually own them with not being suitable for me. Rocco, it was your website that recindeled my love of bulldogs, those pics of your baby climbing a couch are fantastic! Bullies are so so expensive, I can't get past the price. Well I suppose I'll have to get over it If I want one
  24. I love the idea of having owned breeds with different character/temperament! The dogs on my list are varied is many ways, but I have the lifestyle that would suit all, lucky me hey My two kids are also so different in everyway too... Makes life interesting.
  25. It was lappiemum that also won me over to FL, and 'Bear' too! He may be the sweetest dog I have met! :p
