Five-Year-Old Girl Was Bitten By Dog Inside Bunnings Store
kobblyness replied to Two Best Dogs!'s topic in In The News
Sorry, I've not read the thread. That sentence annoys some people I know. Hands up how many ankle taps with trolleys have you felt? Honestly those trolleys are longer than the regular supermarket ones and people forget that. Imagine if your dogs tail was run over by one of these.. It could very well happen. If Bunnings provided a soft muzzle at the front of the store would you use it? -
I found front line useless, 6 days after using it my dog was at the vets with poisoning from three ticks. I now wash them weekly with a solution of permoxin. I was using collars until the younger or deided to ingest part of it, cost me nearly the same as treating for tick poisoning

Tcik Flea Teatments Whats Working Atm.
kobblyness replied to Tapua's topic in General Dog Discussion
Frontline is useless for ticks. Just ask the manufacturer, they will happily tell you how useless it is and give you percentages to back it up. Advantix is supposed to be a better product. Daily checking and be sure if you find one there will possibly be more appearing. -
Tick Treatment - Informative Paper
kobblyness replied to dogbesotted's topic in General Dog Discussion
I used frontline 6 days before my dog had three ticks attach to him. Unfortunately it was too late and he was admitted to the vets for an overnight and day stay. Upon contacting merial I may as well have used water to protect him, usless product against ticks. The pba let them get away with specific words and claims ( controls up to ]14 days = 60 - 70% ). -

Look What They Have Done To Our Dogs.

Perhaps they should have focused on the body changes and not the coats. There seems to be a lot of restrictions placed on show dogs to keep their coat in show condition. -
Poor bloody dog. Some incredibly stupid people in the world.

Love the photos, so much talent.

Oh Teebs I am so sorry. I have really fond memories of the adventures of Atlas over the years, he sure was a character and was loved by all who read your posts. RIP beautiful Atlas.

Barked And Growled At By Other Peoples Dogs On My Property
kobblyness replied to Maxiewolf's topic in General Dog Discussion
Loose unknown dogs are not fun. Can you get a ladder or a chair and look over the 4 adjoining fences to find out where the dog is coming from? Then speak with its owners, they may not be aware it's getting out if it's all overgrown. I know one of my dogs has a mighty bark and I know exactly when someone is on my property because of it, doesn't mean she'd eat em for breakfast ;) -
It's the hardest and kindest thing to ever have to do. Jacq my heart goes out to you and your boys Run free sweet girl

Someone learning to play bagpipes even makes me howl Lived next door to a bagpipe teacher when I was a kid. My ETTs howled when music had mouthorgans being played. Missed this, my son on his first birthday was given a Harmonica from a family friend and it causes the dogs to howl. I guess I'll have to get him a triangle as the Harmonica is out of reach because of the dogs.

Mine howl at squeaky toys, which is why they are only given at Christmas/Birthdays

Sorry for your loss RL1, they are very nice people. I used them in 2004 and they were very understanding and supportive.

When I go to onlead places I expect just that. One of my dogs doesn't like to be rushed. Nothing pisses me off more than people who feel that it's ok for their dog to be off lead in an onlead area for *insert what ever reason, has a good recall, is sociable, this is the only place I can train my dog off lead without others bothering it  My dog has a good recall and is sociable on a loose lead (which is taken away when he's rushed which creates the problem, as I have NFI if the dog rushing is friendly.

I Am Never Walking My Dogs In This Neighbourhood Again.
kobblyness replied to Jimmay's topic in General Dog Discussion
 how awful Jimmay, things like that unfold so quickly. -
I'm glad it's all sorted. Reminds me of when one of my horses got very sick, the bill came to $1500 that was 18 years ago and obviously I was a lot younger . The vet was happy for me to pay it off weekly and I will always be greatful for that, but I figured he shouldn't have to carry me and applied for a credit card to pay the debt. To this day I still have a good relationship with this vet and know if push came to shove he'd give us an account.

That is an interesting comment, as you never know what situation you might find yourself in. I've rented with dogs and found it to be ok, it was sometime ago though. We had three here and now just have the two and I find it to be a better number. As a pack of three one tended to set another off and it would circle, where as just the two they are quite calm and not reactive (bark) to moving cattle/horses ect in the paddock.

As the title suggests, we are looking to have a week away and thinking of taking the dogs with us. Has anyone stayed at Delphi's on Rainbow beach? If so can you share your experience. Feel free to pm if you wish
