Okay, comments... AnnieK: They're all cute shots, but I really like the one of Pheobe with the fern shadows across her face - must have been a challenging one to catch! SalukiBel: Bella is gorgeous as always - love the lighting. JacknDash's Mum: great photos. Your two look like they have such a good time together :) Monet&Diva'sMum: I can't believe the detail you manage to catch in your shots. That one of Juddy racing is fantastic, so serious!! TLC: Lacy is so cute - I really really like the photo at the beach where she's broken her stay - the colour and her expression is fantastic! Snook: Justice looks so toasty warm in his scarf! And that shot of him on the tree stump is classic :) Helen: I love your photos, particularly the first one near the river.

Wow I'm so far behind it's not even funny - on the upside the photos have been taken, just not posted on here :) I'll comment on everyone's photos in a second, but I'll just upload mine first! 24/52 25/52 26/52 Playing... 27/52 If you look closely enough you can see the remnants of my housemates pink lip balm smeared through his beard...guilty? who me? 28/52 - Chilling in his onesie :)

I'd probably make the trip in if I'm free, just outside Sydney but I'm definately keen.

Skeeter is VERY cute :) congrats on the new addition!

I'm running late I'll come back with this week's photo and to comment later...promise! This week has been a challenging one. Paddy managed to hurt his foot - what started out as a scratch between his pads grew a little thanks Paddy's own attempts at fixing it - apparently chewing and licking at cuts makes them worse, not better...who knew? Anyways, after a week of keeping him "quiet" without walks etc. the collar and bandage have finally come off and life is back to normal...thank goodness, the little guy has been bouncing off the walls!!! 23/52

Dogs Nsw Day - We're Trying Herding Tomorrow!
ktig replied to Katdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
Just got home. Freezing cold out there, but they had a great turn out for such a miserable day. It was lovely to see so many beautiful dogs out and about....but I completely fell in love with the rescue greyhounds :) -
The standard schnauzers are very different personality wise to the mini schnauzers, apart from looks they are quite different dogs, If you haven't already I would plan on meeting a few of each breed to be sure which breed you are actually looking for :)
-
Partner said he liked the black and silver cause of the bushy grey eye brows and beard because he his getting grey hairs now that he turned thirty but on a serious note i don't think he'd want a white one but the others would all be ok. How could you not fall in love with the "old man" charm of a black & silver :)

My mini schnauzer is only just a year old but love him to bits. He's a very friendly happy go-lucky little fellow. LOVES all my family and friends but will let me know if there's strangers around. He's a little bit of a barker, which we're working on but if you're on acreage I can't imagine that'd be a huge problem for you.... Shedding wise, I NEVER see fur on clothes, floors, carpets, even his bedding. They definately need a clip every 6-8 weeks though, that coat grows FAST, and I tend to give his legs and beard a brush each day to stop them matting and dragging grass and leaves inside :) He's an inside dog and the house doesn't have that doggy smell. My mum isn't an inside dog person, but having seen Paddy in my plae she admits she'd happily have one of these guys inside. They're very smart and pretty trainable, just need to keep one step ahead of them as they do seem to get bored if the training is becoming too repetative...my guy would seem to switch off half way through the beginner obedience classes and turn into a clown! We've found the balance now with really short, interesting training sessions and he's coming along really nicely. They cope well with kids too. Busy little dogs, but I haven't found him to be REALLY destructive, in compparison to the terriers my family has owned in the past. I love them, and from the sounds of it, they'd suit you perfectly :)

My little guy is outside with a doggie door that gives him access to his nice warm crate in the laundry. He can't be trusted to have run of the house for longer than about half hour without supervision.
-
haha I know snook. I'd actually forgotten he could reach it there...I was just putting the camera away when I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye :) sneaky little fellow...he's surprisingly quiet when he wants to be! Love that shot of Justice...he looks SOOO happy!
-
Gorgeous photos everybody. TLC: Love the family photo - Lacy always looks so liddle!! Snook: lovely photos of Justice as always- he's such a poser for you...I really like the colours in the week 22 shot. Jack&Dash'sMum: Cute photos - like the kissy photo! AnnieK: Gorgeous shots of Phoebe. So sorry to hear about Cowboy the two of you must be missing him so much Week 22 - Paddy had his first birthday this week...gotta love dressing dogs up for themed photos - Paddy was less than amused but was a good sport about it all... 22/52 And a couple of out takes...somebody was far too interested in the cupcake which I was planning on eating...
-
So sorry to hear about Cowboy Those were lovely last photos of him though.
-
Towel was going to be the only extra I would add to the list too...maybe a seperate little bottle of water just in case pup has had an accident in flight and needs cleaning up. Enjoy!!
-
Done, some of the options didn't exactly fit, but I've done the best I could. It asks for a breed and weight, My pup is going to fall into an overweight category as he's a tall boy compared to the breed standard, he's in fantastic shape, but weighs more than the breed standard cause he's about an inch and a half too tall - which is a bit in a mini schnauzer!!

Loving everyone's photos... KumaAkita, Kuma looks very happy to be home, very cozy in his crate :) Jack&Dash'sMum: Such a sad face stuck behind the gate! Helen: Such a clever angle for that shot from above with your hand in it. Snook:I really like the shot of Justice with the Autumn leaves which seem to match his the colour of his coat! And the matching jumpers are super cute! AnnieK: Lovely photo of Phoebe on the move! Glad to hear Cowboy is on the mend :) MonetnDivasMum: Cute shots of your guys, very snug in their jumpers! I think I was a week, behind, but I feel like I'm losing track of the weeks...this is week 21 isn't it? I've just been converted to Lightroom, so I apologise if the photos are a little over processed, but I've been having a play and just getting a feel for it. Week 20 - Paddy after he'd been "helping" my dad water the garden, he needed a warm bath after this to try and thaw him out, but he had a lovely time :) 20/52 And this week, a new jumper to make up for having to have a haircut (gotta love that ridiculously fast growing schnauzer coat!) in such a cold climate. He's pretty pleased with it I think and has been out sunbathing most of the morning rather than curled up in front of the heater. 21/52

Week 19 already?and I think I'm a little late again :) AnnieK: nice shot of phoebe, sorry to hear about Cowboy - glad he's on the improve! Snook: Cute shots of Justice as always, I really like the shot of him and his soft toy- such sad eyes! Oh and I LOVE the photo of him flying through the autumn leaves... TLC: cute shots of Lacy in her winter woolies :) AnnieK: love the shot of Phoebe 'just chillin' Shell: Veiko is too cute...so fluffy! :) Helen: Gorgeous shots as always- love the colour in your wk 18 one... KumaAkita: I really like your week 17 shot - looks great in black and white. Jack&Dash's Mum: cute shots of your two! :) Now- playing catch-up for me and Paddy.... When my mini schnauzer came to me he was about that age and was only on 3 meals a day and did just fine. You want to be able to feel their ribs a little as that's normal, and as for the wolfing down of meals - my guy still does that and he's 11 months old now! :)
-
I will come back to comment on everyone's photos but just thought I'd quickly add our week 16 shot. 16/52
-
Scotties are on the list of breeds I'd really like to own one day. I was pretty close when I bought my pup but their reputation for a full on terrier temperament made me think maybe something a little easier for my first "own" dog rather than the family pet. My current pup is a miniature schnauzer and a full on little guy - I think in a couple of years I might just be ready for my scottie! :)
-
I have a black & Silver mini Schnauzer and I have this same conversation at least once a week! :) Always makes me laugh when they ask me if I'm sure I know what breed my dog is, or if I hear them telling their friend/partner quietly as they walk away "he really is a scottie you know..."
-
Hope everyone is enjoying all this gorgeous autumn weather. I took this week's photo while Paddy was burning off some energy in the backyard - although if you look closely you can see a mischievous glint in his eye which meant that about 2 seconds after I took this shot I was being licked to death :) Loved everyone's shot for last week AnnieK: Love pheobe's easter bonnet, very dignified, makes up for the crazy sausage snatch the next week  M&Dm: gorgeous beach shots, especially the last one of all of them, the reflections are so clear! Snook: Justice cracks me up! Lovely to see he's so obliging with photos, and even smiling for you... TLC: Lacy looks like she's had a lovely time at the park with the fam! KumaAkita: Cute shots of your big guy - Looks like he's enjoying that drink :)
-
Keep up the great work everybody - I love popping in here to see what you've all managed each week! :) AnnieK: Good to see Phoebe back to normal- Love the party hat too! :) KumaAkita: Love your week 12 shot..."play with me please..." I like the bubble shots too....Paddy would love bubbles - you've given me an idea! TLC: I really like the colours in your first week 13 shot Lacy really stands out. Love the family shot for week 14 too! MnDm: Love the collage of your guys! That shot of Monet and the stick is fantastic...don't mess with me! Snook: Love Justice and his backpack- looks a little like a kid on their first day of school with that same, hurry up I want to go mum expression!! We're a little behind so I'll play catch up! Week 13 And for week 14 - an easter shot....it's amazing what Paddy will tolerate for chicken! Hope everyone has a lovely easter!
