  3. Oh no Thanks for your help as always dogmad. What a beautiful boy he is, I hope he finds the right home.
  4. Yes I agree! When I first got my greyhounds I was at my vet's what seemed like every week, well actually it was every week. I had a RidgyX for 16 years before these two and he was tough as nails and apart from his last few years he really never had any problems. After 2 years with greyhounds I'm not as panicky and I have pretty much every lotion and potion for most situations now. The last time I had Maddie at the vet with a split pad on her foot I took all my creams with me and my various types of bandages and he just looked at it, said use this then this and wrap with this...no charge :) I have been going to him for many years, I'm sure when he sees my name on the patient list he thinks...this'll be good
  5. <script src="http://1.2.3.4/bmi-int-js/bmi.js?version=1332944399" language="javascript"></script> I echo this ... and about quotes, I was pleased to see the woman advocating larger dogs for elderly people. So many people think: weak, can't lift up, etc etc and so advocate small dogs. I can't think of anything much more dangerous than small dogs around the feet of older people. The trouble I see with Stan in a situation like that, Stan's Mummy, is that once he'd found a bed, would he move? Jealousy would be rampant - LOL - unless he selected a different bed every day. I was interested in that they took the colour of the dog into consideration. All the things to think about. Wonderful. That's pretty disappointing. I get the feeling black is the colour they're trying to avoid and given how many greys are black, that's a very bad message to be sending to the public. I disagree, residents in nursing homes often have poor sight. A black dog lying down inside can be hard to spot. Yes you're right. They did explain that they chose a white dog so it would be easier for the residents to see and a large dog so they wouldn't easily trip over it. I understand what you're saying HA but at least they explained why they chose that colour.
  6. He is a cutie isn't he. Have you seen his pics in the Blacktown thread? His roomy is a bull arab X
  7. I love the quote about greyhounds..."they're ready for nursing homes their whole life". That would be Stan's dream job...all those beds! Well done Jacob thanks for sharing Westiemum
  8. http://services.blacktown.nsw.gov.au/petsonline/default.aspx?id=1207507 There is this one in Blacktown.
  9. It is just under $15 and only comes in 3 kilo bags at the moment. Someone did email them and they said they were looking at bringing it out in larger bags.
  10. Due any day now apparently. A pet store owner I spoke to was expecting it before Xmas. I have been feeding VIP grain free from the supermarket. shock horror. No complaints so far. Poppy's coat has improved and she was getting super premium before. Thanks Jules - will have a look when i'm next at the supermarket. Who stocks VIP? Is it usually only Woolies or Coles do you know? :) My two greyhounds have been on the VIP grain free for a couple of months and I'm very happy with it. Shiny coats and Stan is doing firm poos for the first time in the 2 and a half years I've had him. You can only buy it at Woolies at the moment.
  11. Is there anyone that rescues Manchester Terriers? Thanks.
  12. Wow I loved that and put a big smile on my face :) Jack may have lost a leg but not his smiling face and zest for life You would never know it had been one short month since the accident unless you said so. Lovely, thanks for sharing :)
  13. oh dear you're a joy. My dogs don't bark so no problem there BUT they are definately partners in crime and Stan is always the instigator. Stan reminds me of Foghorn Leghorn with Maddie following him around looking for a real chicken hawk
  14. @ Puck, sorry My two had their morning kibble and a chicken wing each, a couple of homemade bickies from their Santa bags at lunch then kibble and sardines for dinner. Stan looks sad, he's starving apparantly
  15. I fostered a litter of Pharoah x Afghans a couple years back. One (DaVinci) stayed longer than anyone else and we had such a huge bond. He was so loyal and unlike any other pup I'd fostered before (or since, pretty much). Although my place isn't suitable to an adult of his size, I would jump at the chance to experience the breed(s) again. Here he is: Sorry to hijack, Shmoo. I wish I could help but my place is full. OMG PlanB he is stunning!!! Shmoo I hope Poppy finds a home soon she is beautiful.
  16. Could it be the "snuffling" LOL?? Sort of serious question. I think it really is the noises. And the fact their eyes are often looking in all sorts of weird directions   I love all the quirky things about pugs, they are gorgeous dogs. Poor Roxy she looks beautiful. I hope she finds a playmate soon.
  17. They all sound gorgeous ash :) I think we need to see photos of Smudge (love the name) she sounds adorable. She looks a bit funny as we clip her for the summer months. She only looks like a proper pom over winter! Awwww Smudge the tiniest ballerina.
  18. They all sound gorgeous ash :) I think we need to see photos of Smudge (love the name) she sounds adorable.
  19. Yes I'd give Leah a call from Central Coast Bull Terrier Rescue dogmad.
