  1. @ the old peoples home. That's great she was more settled, I'm sure the old fogies will warm to her charms soon enough ;) The giant version of the IG hate getting their feet wet too, well Stanley does.
  2. I would never think you are hard hearted :) She'll be settled in in no time I'm sure, I love the little t-shirt.
  3. So how was her first night Kirislin? I'm betting she slept in the big bed ;)
  4. Aaaww look at her Maddie still has a Mexican stand off with her own reflection and she's 5  It's been 20 years since I've had a puppy but I'm sure they will all live in harmony soon.
  5. Sending lots of positive vibes your way for a good result Dave
  6. My vet will tell you straight up and couldn't care less if you walked out the door and never came back, not known for tact the old MJ :) The average Joe public think all greyhounds are too skinny and will tell me almost eveytime we are stopped.Truth is Stan could drop a kilo or two but Maddie is very ribby and fine and when standing next to Stan she looks like she's bordering on starvation, so I've been told, several times.
  7. It's finally here!!!! You're probably on the road by now, I would've left at first light...only cause I can't drive at night
  8. No advice Dave but wishing you and your girl all the best.
  9. I live in a high tick area here on the Central Coast of NSW, can't wait to move South and not have to worry about bloody ticks!
  10. Happy vet nurse day to the team of girls at Erina Heights Vet Clinic, I could not have gotten through the last few months without you. Your level of care is second to none for us and those many times you simply put your arm around me while I cried will always be remembered. Thank you
  11. You could make the place like Fort Knox and I'm sure that little munchkin will find something random :D Very excited for you Kirislin, that little girl is going to have the best life ever and she will bring you much joy. Now just to convince the whippets
  12. All those banana smellers/hearers/eaters know something. Owner of greyhounds next door swears by bananas as great racing fuel for his dogs. ( One of his greys was a Qld sprint champion.) The greys just think they're damn good tucker! :) Exhibit A. Two bananas left on the bench whilst I ducked to the Post Office. I was quite impressed with the peeling skills and the fact that they were still joined at the top. I suspect piggy boy scoffed them and Maddie was left to suck the skins.
  13. Anything in a tube is evil to Stan. As he is very accident prone I have a variety of creams to put on, I could walk towards him with a tube of toothpaste and he's be gonski.
  14. I could take half a dozen things out of the fridge and Stan wouldn't raise an eyebrow, touch the cheese and he relives the glory days at the track
  15. My first dog as a child was a dachshund and then a couple of crossbreeds but now I have Greyhounds and that's all I'll ever have in the future :)
  16. Dougal Cat opened the oven door the other day - and Stan immediately popped in to my mind!!! LOL  Stan is impressed Dougal Cat!!! Eschlachter don't jinx us with the doors, I'm sure he fills in most of his day thinking....thinking. Imagine our two as partners in crime
  17. Countersurfing? Pfft walk in the park for Stanley  Stan is a fridge raider, oven opener, cupboard rummager you name it he'll get into it. He destroyed one toaster by dragging it off the bench and licking the slots for crumbs, he would pull plates out of the sink which would smash, he would open the grill, pull the griller tray out and lick it. In my last house I had no way of blocking off the kitchen so I have two fridge locks, in case he got one off and I would leave the saucepan cupboard open so he could rummage around to his hearts content and like Aussie3 I would leave NOTHING on the counters, kitchen bin locked in the bathroom. In my new house I have a kitchen door...checkmate Stanley :D
  18. Glad you enjoyed them, I thought of you straight away. Luma is a little devil by the looks and following your photo thread your baby has that little glint in her eye as well :) Feather probably thought "geez glad we're outta there", little does she know
  19. I loved that bit too "hhmmm what's going on down here...oh righto"
  20. I don't know them I just stumbled across the videos when looking at greyhound vids on Youtube. I laughed so hard I just had to share them.
  21. I just saw this on the news and saw the grandfather interviewed. The kid jumped on the dog, the grandfather heard the dog yelp and then came into the room to see the boy had been attacked. The dog is at the pound awaiting a decision, bloody sad for all involved
