  1. Wow that was fantastic! I was amazed that he just kept going and going, you could see he was having a ball  @ the tourettes.
  2. dear Mac! you can have my share of blue cheese too :p
  3. I was just ordering heartworm tabs from Budget Pet Products and noticed they had Revolution 20-40kg for $5 plus free shipping, expiry date is next month. They also have a lot of coats on special plus shipping, click on the specials in the left column. https://www.budgetpetproducts.com.au/new/index.php?productID=6431
  4. A friend posted this on FB for me a while ago "21 Melbourne Walks That Will Take Your Breath Away". Some state dogs allowed in the blurb but others you would have to check with National Parks. There sure are some beautiful spots close to Melbourne. http://www.buzzfeed.com/laurenvadnjal/melbourne-walks-are-the-best-walks#.khP6MY2yV
  5. I like the café as it's not on the footpath, it's set back so people aren't walking past you. It's straight across the road from the lighthouse and the beach. We usually sit up on the deck but we have sat on the lounges, they supply water bowls.
  6. Plenty of quiet beaches here on the Mornington Peninsula. I've walked my greyhounds at the southern end of Dromana beach and not seen a soul. McCrae and Rosebud you'll see the odd dog but there are so many tracks off the beach you can avoid them fairly easily when you see them up ahead and the walk from McCrae lighthouse to Rosebud along the bay trail is just beautiful. Plenty of dog friendly cafes too, I highly recommend The Pavilion at McCrae it's got plenty of room outside and tables well spaced which is good for us as my girl hates other dogs. We are on the bay as well so no waves, an hour on the freeway from Melbourne.
  7. Solugel. This stuff is brilliant for wound healing and is a clear gel that's very soothing, I've used it on myself. It has to be covered though to work, a generous amount on a gauze pad then vet wrap, repeat every 24 hours for a few days. My vet back home was sceptical of it when a vet nurse was using it on her greyhound until he saw the results, now he keeps the clinic well stocked with it. I use it often with my thin skinned greyhounds. You can buy it at any chemist. http://www.yourchemistshop.com.au/solugel-wound-dressing-50gm-j-j.html?CAWELAID=620011870000394535&CAGPSPN=pla&catargetid=620011870000459134&cadevice=c&gclid=CPDnmuCDnccCFYQHvAod1j0NrA
  8. She's lucky she's at SADS though poor little chicken.
  9. Petal is only two years old and has been taken in by SADS in Melbourne. She has some major health problems associated with the breed that will be addressed by SADS but will be ongoing to the adopter. I thought I would share her here as they are quite rare in rescue AFAIK. http://saveadog.org.au/animals-adoptions/601/small-dogs/921/
  10. We went out for a walk this arvo in their gorgeous new knitted coats. Stan's a bit sceptical, not sure he likes his skivvy
  11. Dear little Ruby is listed as a CKCS cross and is almost 9 years old. She is waiting patiently and the Lost Dogs Home in Melbourne. http://dogshome.com/dog-adoption/adoptable-dog/?petID=997095
  12. According to the Chinese the number 8 is a lucky number for wealth and good fortune and the 8th day of the 8th month is the luckiest day of the year. Well it was a lucky day for me as it was the day 5 years ago this lunatic walked in my door and changed my life forever. Don't know about wealth as he's COST me a fortune being the most accident prone greyhound on the planet but through the worry, the tears and the increasing grey hairs he has given me at times I have the most amazing boy who makes me laugh every single day and has saved my sanity in some very dark times. Happy 5th "gotcha" day Stan the man...love you more than words can say my boy
  13. Yep I agree. There are a lot of markets here on the Peninsula every weekend and I've seen some damn close calls with larger dogs having a go at littlies with both owners at fault. I saw one guy struggling to hold his staffy that was built like a brick shithouse and was intent on ripping every dog at the market a new one O.o I have taken Stan back home once when I just had him but Maddie's a biatch so I don't take them plus no one takes any notice of what their dogs are doing and that annoys me no end. I'd love a ban on extendable leads, dogs wrapped around stalls and peoples legs is common as is cocking legs on peoples stuff.
  14. Maddie squashed herself through that square wire fencing once to chase another dog but I was in the yard at the time so she didn't get far. They both took off out the front door within half an hour of arriving in this new house when my mate that was the removalist who bought my stuff down went out to the truck and left the front door wide open. Luckily there were two cats in the window of the house next door so they stopped and stared at them for the minute it took my mate to tell me they had bolted. They would've had no chance of coming back as we had just arrived in Victoria and they didn't even know where they lived!
  15. They are great! A toss up for Stan between "I'm why we can't have nice things" and "Mum's favourite asshole"
  16. She loves to rub her face on my clothes, she's always done it. I take of my house clothes and throw them over the end of the bed and she drags them into the middle of the bed and madly rubs her face on them. I'd say it's looped over her head and then as she's jumped off and walked through the house her back leg has gotten stuck as well. She was pretty confused bless her.
  17. It was stuck around her back leg as well and she was kicking madly trying to get rid of the evidence, you can see by the look on her face it wasn't part of the plan  I said to her "well that covers two boobs what about the rest of them?"
  18. I don't know how long until you move CC but I'd ask your vet about them ASAP, my vet back home only orders them in when requested as because they are quite expensive people were a bit put off by the price and they would just sit on the shelf and expire otherwise. When I say expensive I think they were $20 per tablet and of course with Maddie's body weight she needed one and a half so I had to get two and throw the other half away. Personally I didn't think 40 bucks was that much to spend at all for her not to feel sick and awful for 1200k's.
  19. .....I'm going to quickly try her bra on
  20. Just checked with my friend who is the vet nurse that sold it to me and yes it was Cerenia. Nope no food, I'm the same as you I couldn't feed her at all if we were going in the car, I just gave it to her half an hour before we left. They say to give it each day but the one dose lasted the two days it took us to do the trip and the second day because I got lost we were in the car for 8 hours Excellent stuff.
  21. Aaaww happy birthday gorgeous little girl. She's very lucky my two just get a scabby meat pie
  22. I think I used the Cerenia when we drove down here to Victoria, I bought them at the vet and they weren't cheap but they were brilliant for Maddie. She always got terribly car sick, she hated the car, she would start drooling before we even got out of our street and would vomit even on a 10 minute trip. Given to her half an hour before travel and we drove 1200k's with not a sign of car sickness and the best thing is it seems to have cured her! She loves the car now and we often do 200k return trips to the city for greyhound walks and she's never been sick since. Best thing is they don't zonk them out like the old travel sick tabs did, she was bright as a button the whole trip from North of Sydney to Melbourne.
