  1. Oh yeah that's way too late to get a car spot  I'm lucky I live right in the heart of Teggas, in the "bowl" as we call it behind the Crowne Plaza so I can walk to the main street in a couple of minutes. Would love to catch up with you hankodie, Bellyfish is my favourite dog friendly café, we've had up to a dozen greyhounds laying around the tables there :) We'll organise it after school hols ok?
  2. Mine are great hot water bottles too but not good at hoovering. Stan can open the fridge and devour the entire contents but if I drop a pea on the floor I've got to point it out several times before he sees it! so much for being a sighthound. Maddie is excellent at excavation too, she dug a hole at my old house big enough to bury a small car. She's just started a new project at the new house.
  3. I've only been to Haven once and yep way too many ppl letting there dogs run everywhere. I love Avoca or Umina Beaches :) I moved in Wahroonga (Syd) in April as working in Gordon now. Then we moved to Kariong late October. So haven't been on Central coast long. But every weekend I take my little girl to a different off leash area or beach!! We should all get together one day. I love exploring the beautiful coast. :) Yes I knew you'd moved to Sydney but didn't know you were up here :) Would love to catch up after the tourist invasion leaves, you can forget trying to get into Terrigal now until Feb! North Entrance is a nice offleash beach, just over the bridge and you rarely see anyone. Patonga is another gorgeous spot, I love it over there but again not in school holidays.
  4. So they stripped off the antlers and went for a dip instead.
  5. Then neither of them would look at the camera for love nor money...
  6. Our beach Xmas photos were a bit of a disaster this year. Firstly our bush Xmas tree actually looks like we buried Rudolph
  7. whaddaya know stans mum, we share the same vet too! the girls there are so great. I'm forever calling them and coming in for the most ridiculous reasons though, yesterday it was because Hank ate a cardboard Cruskits box so I called them up in a panic and I'm always coming in for Odie's weird health issues, I'm convinced they think I'm a little bit of a nutty dog lady! Thanks for the tip, I think I will bring him there over the weekend! Do you know if the hydrobath there has a drying station? Of course you would use EVH Michael is the best vet on the Coast! I'm alway there as Stan is the most accident prone Greyhound on the planet, I walk in and they just say "what as he done now". Yes they have a drying station.
  8. You can't miss Stan in winter at The Haven He likes to visit an older couple down there for banana cake.
  9. Well now I know where you live  go to Erina Heights vet and use their hydrobath. It's really easy to use, I threw both of mine in there together a few weeks ago and for $10 you get a wash, condition, some sort of coat shine thing and a tick and flea rinse. One of the girls will show you how it works :)
  10. Well there you go small world I've been in Terrigal for close to 30 years now on the Coast for almost to 50 I only go to The Haven during the week in the arvo otherwise there are too many idiots that think the the WHOLE bloody Haven is offleash I just walk them around the oval.
  11. I didn't know you were here on the Coast Emma?? As I said in the other thread hankodie that is lovely of you to donate that to rescue :) Yay for DOLers on the coast but where are you all hiding??! I've never come across a DOLer IRL, maybe I need to get out more  thanks stans mum glad it's going somewhere where someone will put it to good use :) There are quite a few here hankodie, I'm in Terrigal, Stan is quite well known here lol. He got recognised from his Facebook page down at The Haven the other day
  12. I didn't know you were here on the Coast Emma?? As I said in the other thread hankodie that is lovely of you to donate that to rescue :)
  13. Maddie always looks like she gets flogged daily and twice on Sundays in photos and Stan...well Stan is just Stan  He was a very cool Santa, covered in tatts with his Dunlop vollies on.
  14. My local pound did Santa photos at Petstock for a gold coin donation. I picked mine up today
  15. I have my own hydrobath but now I have greyhounds that I only bath about once a year.
  16. ...and that's how quickly it can happen, in the blink of an eye. Hope Paige is ok BnW, I sympathise, I've been there.
  17. yes hope they're not moving East either. Woo hoo that's great news trina
  18. Yes correct Anne as per my previous post. The thing is you are now getting greyhound rescues popping up all over the place. Most of them are "industry hating groups" so they feel that greys should not be muzzled, it's cruel *rolls eyes* and will tell adopters to not muzzle them...the ranger won't worry. The fact is a lot of adopters are first time sighthound owners and have no idea how quickly it can turn to s**t if a grey sets in on prey drive, nothing will outrun a determined greyhound. Then of course you get the adopter that may have not been told not to muzzle them at all but takes it upon themselves not to. I have run into people locally that have not had their greys muzzled and actually question me why mine are, my obvious answer is "because they have not been assessed so therefore it's the law" usual response is " oh no my grey is fine, I don't worry about it". It was a major breakthrough for the act to be amended and allow pet greys to be muzzle free but I fear as Maddy does in her previous post that due to human stupidity things are going to go downhill quickly when ignorant people put their greyhounds in a position they shouldn't be in. I speak from experience, my Maddie will never be muzzle free, I know her better than anyone and she is not trustworthy with anything that runs so I choose as a responsible greyhound owner to keep her muzzled and on lead at all times...and don't I cop the flack or it
  19. Still illegal if not greencollared, event organizers don't have the power to make that decision. As the NSW Companion Animal Act states, ALL greyhounds must wear a muzzle when in a public place unless wearing an approved green collar so unless these events are held on privately owned land they must wear a muzzle.
  20. yes there are a few dodgy rescues saying their dogs don't have to be muzzled. Yes there are and it gives me the irits big time. Not only is it illegal and dangerous but bloody insulting to people that do the right thing and PAY to have their dogs properly assessed. One rescue in particular are doing it all the time, no prizes for guessing who it is
  21. Anne this is from the Greenhound website. For off leash parks the restrictions can vary for different councils though so it's best to check with that area. http://www.greenhounds.com.au/what-is-a-greenhound.html
  22. you should have bought him!!  yes the way I wrote that looks like he was for sale. I did stalk them and was raving on about Neko and they were looking at me like I was a nutter
