  1. Yes I agree Merry Xmas YG. I love LLDR (and Iggy Rescue :) ) and I also follow you guys on FB.
  2. AWDRI are Australia wide http://www.workingdogrescue.com.au/category/awdri-dogs/
  3. Can't say I've really noticed as having non cat friendly dogs I usually leave them in the car and check out the waiting room first. If the coast is clear Stan drags me through the waiting room as he luuuurves the vets, I drag Maddie behind us, she loathes it I do know they have solid plastic chairs so I don't think they would care.
  4. Wonderful story KDF I had a similar experience recently with a couple of young kids and their Dad down at the beach, kids were asking questions about the muzzles and Dad asked if they could pat them. Of course I said yes and Maddie was busting to smooch them (she adores kids),we ended up talking for ages and Stan grasped the opportunity to lay down under a tree with one of the kids laying next to him. I so wish I had my phone to take a pic. With Greyhounds I call it the "great wall of China syndrome" you know the ad where the guy tells the kid they built it to keep the rabbits out? He didn't know the answer so he winged it and made something up, while it was hilarious he should've said "I don't know but lets find out why"
  5. Brilliant! Our RSPCA here is working with rescue for greyhounds (not sure about others) which is wonderful, thanks to the very hardworking Gillbear I suspect :)
  6. Try having muzzled greyhounds I had a woman telling her child at a cafe once that my dogs are muzzled so they wouldn't eat him. Most times I try to educate people and other times I just can't be bothered.
  7. Merry Christmas to all in rescue, be it pound listers, donaters, transporters, too many people to mention that help. May you all have a safe and happy Xmas, continued success in 2014, bless you all
  8. Wow that bed looks amazing. I can't wait till costco opens it's doors in QLD. I will say that there are problems with it. The bolter makes a comfortable pillow but long greyhound necks are draped over it which increases the snoring and the puddles of snool BUT they love it. We also have two rectangular beds from them which are also apparently comfortable. Oh dear I laughed at the "puddles of snool" finally I have a name for it!
  9. Op-shops and maybe a local Buy/Sell/Swap site? I got a single bed mattress for free of an online op-shop and my two love it. You could but one of those egg shell things to put on top.
  10. Maybe send a PM to Gillbear, she knows a lot of recues here and may be able to find them a home.
  11. Here on the Central Coast we are a very high tick area. I was at my vet last week and they have a chart on the front desk that tells how many tick cases they have had in the clinic. Since tick season started they have not been under double figures peaking in the month of October with 29 cases treated. We are only one hour north of Sydney.
  12. What a good boy Merry Christmas from Nelsson everyone :) Naaaaw Merry Xmas Nelsson! Castiel your little guy is gorgeous ,love the last one he looks like he's waving :)
  13. It brings tears to my eyes too SM just watching them. Feather's never had a playmate. She will be 12 years old in May so this is a huge turnaround for her. I'm so happy that she now knows what it is to have fun with another dog. For the first time in her life, she has a doggy friend. Bless Neko was meant to come to you and Feather, a new lease on life for the dear old girl, wishing more happy years to come.
  14. Just lovely and the story on FB had me in tears, what beautiful people that Phoebe got to share her life with
  15. That bought tears to my eyes Kirislin, the photos are just wonderful :)
  16. That is gold Rubystar! They didn't even drop their Santa bags, you would've been lucky to get two tails in the shot if it was my two.
  17. Thanks, they be my babies :D Outtake time... About to take the photo after lots of trying for the perfect photos, SO CLOSE!!...... and then the fridge gets opened. All in unison  that's gold. They didn't even drop the Santa bags! you would've been lucky to get two tails in the shot if it was my two.
  18. Sorry Stan but  IM Stan's worst nightmare would be being chased by insects in a thunderstorm and treading in a poo he's "speshal" :)
  19. Stan is petrified of storms, also moths, flies, Xmas beetles and poo but he has a thundershirt which works well for him. Maddie was never worried about storms, fireworks are a different story, until we had the worst storm I've ever experienced last month and she was a drooling, quivering mess. I now have a thundershirt for her so I hope it works, we'll be trying it out on NYE.
  20. I've never seen it happen to greyhounds but I've definately heard of it. When I adopted my two I got a booklet from the rescue that warned it can happen.
  21. Thanks LabTested it is a nice thread :) Grumpette your dogs are just gorgeous! Nothing beats a Staffy or Rotty smile I reckon :D
  22. Cool done girls will msg you both in Feb :)
