  1. On Wednesday we had a birthday party at Jells Park for Stanley. The wonderful Beltar, Kirislin and Iggy Mum bought along their gorgeous dogs (14 in total at the party) and we had food, walks and fun! Thank you so much to these lovely ladies for making it a very special day for us after last years sadness. Special thanks to Iggy Mum who drove for hours to be there xx Kirislin took some great pics, I can only attach them as a thumbnail so hopefully she'll post some fairy bread ones for me :) Stanley was a little bit in love with Feather ETA my two were muzzled the whole time we just took them off for photos.
  2. Aaawww thanks for the pics Kirislin I was just about to start a thread :)
  3. It is isn't it? :) There are always other breeds there too which is great to show people that greys can get along with others.
  4. Ooops sorry just saw it wasn't feasible to drive that far, ignore me lol
  5. I'm sure Hankodie was in a walking group, out Killcare way? :/ They have one down here that they formed from a FB group called Peninsula Sisters, they do walks, beach days, coffee etc we don't go because Maddie's a biatch but they have a lot of fun. Maybe see if there's one on FB? I'm friends with the girl that runs Gosford Pound so I'll msg her and ask if she knows of anything, she's involved in a lot of doggy activities. Edited because I said dodgy instead of doggy
  6. If you are willing to drive to the Central Coast Deb at Just like Home Pet Resort is fantastic. I haven't boarded there myself as I have greyhounds and she only takes small dogs but I have friends that cannot praise this place highly enough. A friend with three SWF's hadn't had a holiday in years as they were afraid to leave their dogs, one with lots of medical issues but since going on my recommendation they now go O/S every year without a worry in the world. Another friend is a vet nurse and she leaves her littly here as well. http://www.justlikehomepetresort.com.au/
  7. I have a FB friend that fosters for GAPSA, I'll ask her if they do anything similar. I went on a few greyhound walks with GAPNSW back home but they only have a few a year, here in Melbourne there are walks every weekend with all different groups it's brilliant. This particular group is a two hour round trip for us to get to but we enjoy it so much it's well worth the hike. ETA Stan says good job Bosco
  8. Last Sunday a video was made for GAPVIC with a greyhound walking group we go to at Westerfolds Park in Templestowe Victoria. Max the Iggy's mum tells how she has come along a few times and walked a greyhound to see if one would suit as a sibling for him He is the cutest little man. Stan and Maddie make a few cameo's :D blink and you'll miss us. It's a friendly group of greyhound lovers and a few ring-ins lol so if you're in Melbourne and thinking of adopting a greyhound come walk with us! ETA If you already have a greyhound it doesn't matter if it's not a GAP dog or is not green collared. Stan and Maddie are neither and we feel very welcomed, Kate that runs this particular walk is lovely.
  9. If it wasn't for greyhound racing I wouldn't have Stan and Maddie though. Greyhounds love the pet life and most adapt well so like in the case of Grace from Maddy being returned five years after living as a pet is sad for me. They are sensitive dogs so would miss their family
  10. I follow Mouse's FB page, it's amazing the things she does like lure coursing, kayaking you name it she has a wonderful time. I posted the video ages ago of Mouse in her chariot behind Mums pushbike it's brilliant. Mouse doesn't follow Stan's FB page though but I guess eating meat pies and laying on the lounge watching the footy isn't what Mouse sees as adventure. "Nothing to see here peeps, just me laying on the lounge" Ahhhh a day in the life of Stanley
  11. I reckon Maddie would be a serious contender for this, she flies my girl!
  12. Woo hoo go Poppy!! Did you see Mouse the greyhound from Greyhound Angels WA CC?
  13. He's very grey now Aussie but I love it, makes even more handsome I think :) CBL Stan does not share either, ever! He pretty much gargled that party pie and gagged it down whole...he's a Barry Crocker Kirislin he was thinking "huuuuurry up will ya I'm starving!" Maddie took her's inside on her mat and slowly nibbled away on it with her eyes closed, as she does, while Stan stared at her from the kitchen O.o Stan says fanks LabTested :D
  14. Today is my handsome, goofy, naughty Stanley's 7th birthday! Fatty was a bit cross eyed looking at his party pie  Where have those five years gone? Love you my boy
  15. There are so many older greyhounds being returned lately it makes me sad To go from a racing life to being part of a family and then boom...out again and start over. People have their reasons but still...
  16. so does Maddie, she doesn't care if they're manky O.o
  17. Pia's still showing hers off in the second pic lol I wish I could Maddie's are appalling and she has a yearly dental. Stan hasn't had a dental yet, they were checked by the greyhound vet last month and he said they were still ok at this stage but not far off a dental...he's 7 on Monday. He's had a half dead canine ever since I've had him which is 5 years. So no sorry, no pearly whites here!
  18. Todays senior is 8 year old Lola who has lived as a pet before with two children (one in a wheelchair) and two chi's. She is currently in foster care in an apartment, she is fully house trained, happily goes up and down in the lift and is not phased by the city noises when out walking. Lola prefers small dogs, she misses her little chi friends but she is not cat friendly. This beautiful gentle girl is looking for her forever home again She is available from Amazing Greys in Melbourne. http://www.amazinggreys.com.au/greyhounds-for-adoption/greyhound-for-adoption-meet-lola/ Looks like Lola has a home :D
  19. I thought of you Kirislin when I saw it, I love your photography :)
  20. There's a 12 year old greyhound girl at Wyong Pound I can't get any info other than that.
  21. I can't see her listed on the Hobart RSPCA site :/
  22. Doesn't have to be a Saturday Don post away for any oldie in need on any day. Gorgeous old sweetheart!! Hmmm from what I've heard Hobart RSPCA is not the best :/ I could be wrong...Maddy?? I think I've seen her posted around. Hobart is better than the Launceston shelter. From memory, Hobart is "no kill" and they'd be unlikely to PTS a small, easy to sell dog (especially if it looks like a purebred). Although the shelter itself is no place for a dog of that age, the poor old lady. Oh good thanks Maddy happy to be wrong in this case. Dear old darling I'll share on FB Donatella.
