You've obviously not had much to do with greyhounds if you're calling rubbish O.o I have and have not yet found one that can't be trained to recall. Well you aint met my Maddie, hell would freeze over before she came back and I know her better than anyone. Out of the hundreds of greyhounds I have met I could probably say I know two with some recall but I still wouldn't say they would be 100% reliable and neither would their owners. I meet a lot of owners who say "my dog would never recall" but again, I've yet to meet a dog we can't train to recall... But of course the owner has to be willing and able to put the work in :) Oh of course if it failed fault would fall squarely on the owner wouldn't it? So out of interest how many greyhounds have you successfully trained to reliable recall?

Nope, no fun in chasing something that's already dead Jules :) That's why you wave it around so she thinks it is still alive! She may be a greyhound but she's not that stupid  I had to shake a live sheep at one of my dogs once. That was interesting! Are greys allowed offlead anyhow? It varies state to state and even Council to Council. In NSW yes in designated off lead parks and beaches in Victoria no, only on private property. I'm not sure on other states.

You should have emailed me right away!! :) He'll go on Iggy Rescue's Facebook page right away. Sorry Jane, I only found him this morning Only joking Hazywal, I've actually emailed the rescue group offering to advertise him just to make sure they are ok with that. I'm sure we'd have someone who'd be interested in him and has breed experience! Fabulous! I hope they accept your offer to advertise, your page is so successful at finding wonderful homes. I know that for a fact as my friend has Ruby Tuesday who by the way is going well and is queen of the household :D Thank you Hazywal - I feel so bad, I'm always meaning to give K a call - must do it and see how beautiful Ruby is going. Nah don't worry about not calling, you've been to the property how do you think she's going? Livin' the life of luxury that's what she's doing Ruby's biggest decision of the day is whether Bobby should take the Mercedes or the MG to go down and feed the horses!

+1 i'll get a video ready. No thanks. I've already had one greyhound with a fractured skull from chasing I wouldn't be so lucky next time.

Stressmagnet my friend just sent me this link She said she thinks there's a group who walk at Point Clare. Shapeshifter just reading that FB link you posted and some muppet is asking if anyone has a mini poodle to put with her mini schnauzer so they can breed schnoodles or some rot!

I just spoke to my friend and she said it's for all breeds. This is it but by the sounds of it it's just a usual dog park shit fight. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tuggerah-off-Leash-Fenced-Dog-Park/214253625379540

Are we talking about the same one SS? Behind the Supa Centre? My friend that runs Gosford Pound has taken her DaneX and two Shar Peis there and there's no way she's be breaking the law :/ I think it's separated with different areas for different sizes :/ I'll msg my friend with the greyhound and ask, she's a vet nurse and she definitely wouldn't be taking her grey if it was only smalls allowed. Her grey is very small dog friendly but she wouldn't take Skye and upset anyone.

Thanks Anna :D Beltar I couldn't believe our luck with the weather, stormy and raining in the morning yet it cleared to 27 degrees! I'm so glad everyone enjoyed the day and the treat bags
-
Yep Deb is the best, it's not like a kennel at all and she really knows her stuff with special needs dogs. I was always sad that she didn't take big dogs but it's great for people with littlies that don't want big dogs around them.
-
No all types of dogs my friend takes her greyhound and foxie there, she drives all the way from Narara to go to it and another drives from Terrigal. I don't go to off leash parks I don't like them but the Central Coast is seriously lacking in fenced dog parks. There's heaps of off leash beaches and parks just not fenced.
-
Kirislin! the photos are fabulous I love them. All the dogs were so gorgeous, we certainly gained some attention. One little girl had her photo taken by her mum surrounded by sighthounds she loved them :D and yes...Neko is even more beautiful IRL, she's like a little china doll I made treat bags for everyone to take home, you've gotta go home with a lolly bag from a partay! DD I don't know who the bracelet belongs to but it's not me, I think it's Iggy Mum as she was in charge of handing out the fairy bread lol
-
You just made me laugh out loud DD  Feather is quite small for a whippy but OMG I would've stolen her but as she was curled up on her Mum's lap it made it a bit hard  Stan was licking Feathers face it was gorgeous.

There's only a few that are fenced, Tuggerah is the newest and most popular. Terrigal where I'm from has their off leash park at The Haven, with no fence and a hundred foot drop off the cliff to the ocean I can't beleive dogs haven't died there. They do have poo bags and water but a fence along the cliff would be handy O.o
-
Yep they're called a slipping track BCC, they are a straight fenced track that trainers use but a lot of rescue groups use them too. I used to take Stan to the one at Gosford Dog track on Showground Rd but he'd only run up once and want to go home
