  1. Well I've been ignoring Stan for years and he still whines...years! He's 7 now and doesn't look like giving up anytime soon.
  2. Very disappointing The GBGW were also being ignored when they asked that group repeatedly to please remove their logo and not to use it for their walk.
  3. Just over a month to go and sadly there are several groups in Australia that have made the Great British Greyhound Walk a place to push their own political agenda and GBGW have removed them from the map as that is not what their walk is about It is to promote greyhounds as the wonderful pets they are not an anti racing protest. Sydney, Brisbane, SA and Melbourne were all removed (somehow Melbourne managed to get back in I have no idea how) and they have now formed their own walks. There are a few small social walks in QLD and one in SA and Greyhound Haven Tasmania remains as a GBGW walk.
  4. No but when he completely decimated my cherry tomatoes I had random tomato plants growing all over the yard. I just mowed over them though, I wasn't going to eat those babies I knew where they'd been  I bet people would! There's that coffee that's been through the system...haha. And its a delicacy! Nothing that comes out of Stan's arse is a delicacy I can tell you, his farts could derail the XPT O.o
  5. Stan loathes walking in the rain, if we are out and it starts to rain like it did the other day he just hits the anchors and refuses to move. He just stands there with a sad face blinking while I try to at least drag him under a tree. They do have a variety of gorgeous raincoats though, these are my favourites :)

  7. My old Ridgey cross ate two disposable razors also half a tin of Berocca's tin and all. My flatmate that was living downstairs said he was bouncing around like a loon for hours so it certainly gave him the b b bounce as the ad says. Stan can open the fridge so has demolished the entire contents, he's a bin raider so has eaten all types of things he shouldn't including plastic bags, those styrofoam meat trays denali was talking about including the absorbent piece, all types of crap but eating my wheat bag (the ones you heat up for pain) was pretty special. His poos were interesting to say the least O.o
  8. Greyhound Rescue Sydney have two oldies that have just come in from a pound after they were surrendered when their owner passed away. They urgently need out of their kennels and must be rehomed together. Buddie (aged 12) and Wendy (aged 13) are classed as "sanctuary dogs" meaning GR will pay all their vet bills for the rest of their days. They seem to be in good health and deserve better than cold kennels after living as pets They have no photos of them and they are not yet listed on their website but there is a short video on GR's facebook page posted May 13th. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Greyhound-Rescue/214189698601635
  9. It always pays to check with your council concerning anything with dogs. For instance Greyhounds are still required to be muzzled in public Australia wide unless they have passed green collar assessment but some council areas in QLD have relaxed the muzzle laws without testing. Always check regardless of what you read on the internet.
  10. Wrong on the limit, there certainly is on the Central Coast of NSW where I come from. I was quite shocked when I moved down here and realized I had to pay yearly rego. Interesting! Lucky I've only lived in no limit Council areas. What Council area was it HazyWal? Gosford. I had to check when I was still fostering, it was a two dog limit in Terrigal and I think it was two fosters allowed, can't remember now. My understanding is that NSW councils can have guidelines but can't enforce a limit legally because it's not supported under the Companion Animal Act. They can only take action if there are objections due to noise or waste (or obviously cruelty or welfare issues). The lifetime rego fee is great but not well understood and the NSW CAR is badly maintained. Most councils just don't really care about the data at all. Probably but when I was fostering I went into Gosford Council Chambers personally and checked and that's what they told me about Terrigal where I lived. Instead of people just saying NSW as a whole has no limits it might be better to get people to check with their local council first.
  11. Hope it's a successful day for you guys

  14. God knows, no inflight meal for them though, I am afraid. I wonder if they will need quarantine/checks on the US end now? A huge risk. If my dog was sharing space with un-quaratined dogs I would be going batshite. The owner was posting photos saying what an honour it was to groom them and how they should be allowed to stay etc. Morons. I wonder how well she has cleaned everything they touched? Not well enough I would bet. Yep I was just talking to a friend of mine in Perth who's been a groomer for almost 30 years and she said what an absolute bellend that woman is, not a hope those dogs would've stepped one paw in her salon and she couldn't give a toss who owns them. She hopes the salon is named and people made aware of the risks that she has put other pets at because the average Joe wouldn't have a clue. ETA I got the OP wrong, she wasn't shown with JD's dogs just some randoms.
  15. Just saw on the news they were at a grooming salon, they interviewed the woman and showed her clipping and washing the dogs. Wouldn't that be a risk?
  16. Is it Bendigo or Ballarat that has no leash laws? :/ I remember reading something here about roaming dogs and no fines for it.
  17. Thanks Hazy, Yeah the cheeky bugger I took him for numerous walks beforehand and he wouldn't go. Must have been all the roo poo everywhere as he was on full alert, but running will certainly move it LOL BTW. You are more than welcome to use any of the Tigger and Ronin pics or vids in any form of greyhound awareness or promotion :) Thanks Yonjuro much appreciated, unfortunately greyhound rescue is falling into a massive black hole at the moment and I'm not sure there will be a way out but I do appreciate your unwavering support.
  18. Oh well sooooo sorry that I'm a thumbnail numpty! :p He's gorgeous SM :)
  19. Gorgeous - I wonder if my work colleague has seen this, i'll send to her as she's actively seeking an older Boxer!! Oh good please do! She was making the call yesterday - fingers crossed!! :crossfingers: :crossfingers: :crossfingers:
  20. Oh wow that looks fantastic! @ the poo, when ya gotta go ya gotta go!
  21. Yes well Maddie is determined and disobedient so she could well be the first. I will definately come to a fun run one day to have a look but without the hounds. It would be too much of a temptation to the beady eyed assassin all those little dogs running and if Stan ran he'd only hurt himself or he'd just sit in the car whining about what a shit time he's having  My kids have issues
  22. I had decided to sign Maddie up until I read it was not a fenced area she could end up back in Sydney if she doesn't have a fence to stop her!
