  1. Have everything crossed for a good result Rebanne.Hope you get the results back quickly.
  2. There is a guy here on the Central Coast that makes them and sells them at the carboot sales and markets.I only saw him this morning. He's called Doggy Dream Beds.If I can find his card I will PM you his phone number.
  3. No bertie no I stuggle with two greyhounds in my bed as it is
  4. Brian the mini daschy I love it.I know of two daschy's called Graeme and Neil.A good friend of mine had four daschy's once called Ray,Ralph,Sally and Douglas.A new neighbour moved in behind her and about a week later he popped his head over the fence and introduced himself and his name was Doug.He said he was a little worried when he would come out into the garden to hear "Doug get out of that bloody garden!!!".He thought she was yelling at him
  5. All my dogs have had human names but the funniest I have ever met was a dog called Steve. Not unusual I know but their surname is Stevens....Steve Stevens
  6. Poor little soul Bless everyone that has helped giving her the best chance.
  7. Thanks everyone he is a lovely boy.He is only a baby though so naughty but nice :) He over does it "feelin the love" with grumpy old Stan but I did catch Stan climbing onto the lounge with him last night ;) I don't know what he could be crossed with, there has been suggestion of wolfhound. His head is a bit bigger than a grey and he has HUGE feet and his tail is exactly like a grey but much thicker. He is still quite headshy and needs constant reassurance but after a couple of days now when I call him he trots up to me tail wagging instead of head down tail between his legs wondering what will happen when he gets to me A local family are coming to look at him on Saturday so hopefully they will love him and give him the wonderful home he deserves. If not then he will stay with us until his perfect furever home comes along. He's had a rough start....he deserves the best. PS: Yes 3amigos he is perfect in the car he luurrves it.You could drive around Australia with this boy and he would be the happiest camper in the world.
  8. This is my gorgeous foster Ray the greyhoundX rescued from West Wyalong pound. He is feeling like a new boy when I took this pic after his hydrobath perched up on Maddies favourite chair :) A BIG thank you to Ninahartland for her endless emails and phonecalls. To Rhonda and 3amigos for transport and temp care and Skyesblue for your help and constant support I could not have done this without you all. Sorry for the crappy photo but it was taken on my crappy phone
  9. Fantastic shots Thanks for sharing :)
  10. When I say "escapeas" I mean of the little green round variety. Before you say but it's only a pea my old RidgyX would have caught it in his left nostril before it even looked like hitting the floor
  11. this is a funny thread.Maddie is a shocking benchsurfer, turn your back and she'll swipe anything of the bench.Drop anything on the floor and neither of them can see it.If a couple of "escapeas" roll of the plate I have to point them out and then they hoover around and rarely find them.Sighthounds
  12. I have been buying from cafepress for a long time now and have a LOT of their greyhounds tees, long and short sleeve and singlet tops.I bought a t-shirt for a friend that has dachshunds that had on it "Get a looooong little doggie" She loved it.I too had the same experience as you Poppys Mum,I ordered a zip up hoodie with "Adopt a Greyhound "on it and it was too small.I also got a refund and told to keep the shirt.I waited almost 5 weeks for another parcel and when I sent them an email asking why they apologised and refunded the shipping costs
  13. So do I :) How wonderful,he sure is a stunning boy.
  14. I am so sorry for your loss baifra what a special girl. K9A what beautiful poem
  15. Funny you say that about skype I left my old boy twice in 16 years and both times he would not talk to me on the phone when it was held up to him  sallyandtex I understand your worry of leaving your dog, sorry I wasn't being hard usually they cope better than us.I think aussielover and Perse are on the right track, leaving something with Sally like an old jumper or shirt would be really comforting for her.
  16. My two wouldn't look at a photo of me unless it had liver treats stuck around the frame.I understand you feel upset at leaving Sally but you are lucky to be leaving her with a friend in a home environment with other dogs that she knows. It will be ok I'm sure.
  17. to you what a beautiful heart dog she is and all the amazing dogs you have loved through your life.
  18. There are too many to post voloclydes.Yes the book has all sorts of special needs recipes some are crap but some are great. When I was fostering greys and most would not eat through stress I used to make a very simple liver sauce from the book put over some kibble..wolfed it down.Used to make me heave cooking it but at least they would eat it.The book was purchased through Angus and Robertson bookshop here on the Central Coast so I'm sure you would be able to find it.If no-one can find the book I will post recipes but as I am the slowest typer in the world it could take a while :) ETA sorry for hyjacking your thread PW.
  19. BlackJaq my two love those wholemeal bikkies from Woolies.I usually make my own but next time I buy them I will explain to them in detail that I know the mum of the daughter of the Weim on the box  How do you make your own biccies? I'd love to do that!! Have you got a recipe? Aussie I have a great book that was given to me as a gift called "The Good Food Cookbook for Dogs"by Donna Twichell Roberts. It has the most simple dog bikkies in it(beleive me I am NOT a person who bakes)and each dough depending on the size of your cookie cutter makes 5 to 6 dozen bickies that store in an airtight container or zip lock bag for up to 3 months.I made heaps for Xmas for all my doggie friends and have just made some salmon and dill easter bikkies(in the shape of a rabbit of course) and some apple oat and cinnamon greyhound shapes. If you can't find the book I will PM you some of my fave recipes. :)

  21. Yep talk to mine all the time.I had a friend over the other day and Maddie was roaching on the lounge legs wide open.My friend commented on how relaxed she was and I looked over and said "Madeline close your legs please we have company " Stan rarely gets out of my bed at night to go to the toilet but when he does he likes to tell me he's going. While his roo rooing away I'm yelling out "for dogs sake Stanley get outside and do a poo,you don't need to tell me about it!"I often wonder if someone was walking past they would be thinking...geez she's mean to her husband Stan AND she makes him poo outside
  22. For me they are too bulky to carry and I use the enviro bags when I shop :) That's when I remember to take them
