  1. Still no progress. We started to try TOTW but Koda has gone backwards at the moment. Started on ZD Ultra and it's too soon to tell yet. She went good on the other food until antibiotics finished that she was taking for cyst infection......feel so frustrated trying to sort this out.
  2. Pookinook didn't have big enough bags I think when I checked.
  3. I have ordered a small bag of TOTW salmon product to trial from the natural pet store site. Does anyone know if there is a site in WA that stocks it and might be cheaper delivery for future reference as for a small bag it cost $15 for deivery. Thanks.
  4. I have sent an email to them but have not had a reply and I suspect I won't as its been about a week now. Really not a fan of Purina due to last contact with them but their product was working fir our koda.
  5. Taste Of The Wild Pacific Stream Canine with Smoked Salmon seems the lowest in fat grain free that I can see so far.
  6. Can't seem to find TOTW catch of the day on the sites????
  7. As cheap as possible but really if I can get something that works then I will take it. It's just that we are remote WA and can get nothing locally after the supermarket option and even if someone here sold it, it would probably be cheaper to buy myself. Will check out TOTW ingredients again. I did get some sample packs of it but sample packs aren't enough to really test these types of dogs.
  8. She can eat fish but some other ingredients must be upsetting her as well ...she doesn't need to be any thinner at the moment.
  9. So annoyed! Koda has stomach issues, the runs etc. Been struggling lately and now Purina has changed the ingredients in there superciat sensitive kibble which is the only kibble we found she could eat. So far it is not agreeing with her....sigh. does anyone now a kibble that is chicken based, ingredients simple, does not ha e grains and is low in fat. We gave ti get it delivered so the cheaper the better. Supercoat, changed it to fish and put corn back in as well as fancy additives......ggggrrrrrrrr
  10. Hi Kynan, Sorry to hear you have one as well. The vets didn't think it was EPI for Koda either. She can tolerate raw meat. It seems to be grains and fat firming up as the culprits so far. I had to take her off the raw meat and bone diet from herbalist as it didn't seem to be working. I put her back onto her supercoat sensative kibble, rice/potato and raw meat with slippery elm added. Also adding a little yoghurt too. She seems to be alright so far. I was told by the herbalist to use 1 tbspoon of the slippery elm but I found that was too much so have lessened it and seems to be working ok. Before we had this issue I tried to move her onto artemis kibble and that's when we started to have these problems....not saying anything wrong with artemis as there were other factors happening at same time but not game enough to go back and try again. Fingers crossed she will settle again for us.....have been using the drug salzipram (spelling wrong) which is relatively cheap and can be used every other day to maintain these sorts of dogs. Might be helpful for yours.....as it gets processed it also turns into an anti-inflammatory chemical so it helps that way too.
  11. I worm us as we have small kids and they are so hand to mouth with everything. I'm about to worm us as we have just adapted a cat and they couldn't tell me if previous fosters had wormed him. So pets have been done and once my son gets over his tummy bug that arrived tonight I will get us all a dose. Last time I did it was probably 18 months ago. People can get worms from pets but mainly kids would be the ones most often infected.
  12. Yeah we use protein which is a probiotic. I have put her back on rice, human grade turkey mince and roo, rice, pumpkin. We have excepted this will not go away just really need to find something that works for her and provides some stability. Thankfully she isn't fussy and will eat whatever u give her.
  13. Yeah, I have had the bad experience with a huge bone with my GSD....never had a dog so good at munching bones and got all the marrow out of one....our first full blown episode. I have been cautious and only given chicken frames and turkey necks to avoid bones with alot of marrow. But something isn't working. Will look again at the hills ingredients for our girl.
  14. Hi guys, Well I have had my dog on a meat/bone diet for at least 7 days that the herbalist suggested. What I'm finding is either she hardly poos or tiny poos, or she finally does a half decent one but then it's followed by soft or liquid poos. Have been trying to add slippery elm but have had difficulty doing that as she's still been on meds and it affects absorption. I was also told a tablespoon and by what came out the back end that's too much. What I want to know is what worked for people who had a dog who was presenting with coliotis symptoms...bear in mind at the moment we are in remote WA and the vet here charges huge prices so options we would look at in the city are difficult financially here and also what is available. She used to be alright on supercoat sensative being a gluten free product and chicken based. with such meat as turkey mince, chicken, fish etc. Since getting here (DEC)we have had 2 bouts of it and doesn't seem to recovery well either. Dropped alot of weight. Have given drontal after advise of vet and next day tummy symptoms had slipped backward. Not sure if it's that causing what has continued today either. Yesterday she had firm poos in the yard when I got home then just before dark noticed wet ones around the yard. Some today, solid then wet or runs again. I do suspect fat is a huge issue for her as well. She hasn't been on lamb or beef since striking this issue. Any constructive feed back would be most welcomed. Feel like I'm chasing my tail and not sure what is working at the moment. Sigh.....
  15. Hi guys, yeah we usually use interceptor but the vet wanted to use drontal to rule out hook worm due to where we are. I did give it with her meal. I always have done this anyway. She seems ok this morning so hopefully that's what it was. Hook worm is a problem in northern wa apparently and she has been thin as well.
  16. Hi, koda is struggling with colitis again. Been on meds again. Is on a meat only diet which i'm not sure of its working. Found cow pat poor this arvo. I wormed her with frontal last night so am wondering if that could be problem.
  17. Thrive d I think helps with the digestion. Did have to ease her into it slowly as tubings went soft for a bit. We are going thru a bad patch and nothing seems to work for koda at the moment. We have her on a full meat diet at the moment as per advice from herbalist but today I have come home to yucky poos. Can't seem to sort this out.
  18. Hi, Our previous GSD suffered with car sickness for about 2 years. He was the same, 5 mins in the car or could be 30 mins later. We had to just wait it out. We didn't feed him at all if we were taking him in the car for fun or other reason. He slowly got better with time but it was about 2years and he was terrible then all of a sudden it started to disappear. Good luck, we were lucky at least we had a wagon for the car and just put a piece of rubber matting down in the back for easy clean.
  19. Hi Dogmad, Koda is currently on Salazapryrin at the moment in the hope to calm her insides down. It sounds like your dog had a tough time too. We thought we had sorted Koda out with a gluton free diet and no lamb or beef in the diet but we are having recent episodes.
  20. Yep, that's my Koda. Thanks. A very handsome girl but we are biased of course. lol
  21. Trinabean, I will let you know how I go with the diet plan Koda has been prescribed (12 week plan) and if it seems to work it maybe beneficial to pass onto you. Feedback is always good to share I think. I will start Koda on the weekend when her meds finish so the slippery elm won't compromise the meds. :)
  22. Thanks. The herbalist is saying a tablespoon a day for Koda in the plan. We aren't sure if it's food or environment or simply bad luck with her. We have limited her diet to rule things out and to keep her on the healthy path but she still has outbreaks. The last one we are not sure of as the day it started hubby took her for a run off lead and whether she got to something out of sight I don't know....we are in remote Australia, so kangaroo poo, dead animal who know's. It's the same weekend we had to treat the lawn as well so who knows with that as well. Wish we had a crystal ball for this one.
