  1. We're interested in the answer to the above as sadly and unfortunately we are in this situation now, having lost our much loved 3 1/2 month old Golden 3 weeks ago. He was covered with the initial 6 week plan which we renewed prior to the expiry date and he fell ill 2 days later and passed away next day (was on a ventilator at Murdoch Pet Emergency and was the sickest dog they've had this year).
  2. So, so sorry to read about your loss, please accept our sincere sympathy. We lost our 15 week old old puppy just over 2 weeks ago and within 24 hours of his Parvo/KC vaccination. We're absolutely heartbroken as he was our baby (never had children) and was the world to us and we loved him dearly in the short time he was with us. There's still a lot of tears, we never ever thought we'd lose him after being immunised and he'd be here to grow older with us.
  3. We'll soon be adding a new puppy to our family. My husband and a good friend want to call him Dexter .. named after the TV series of the same name (I'm definitely not a fan of the TV series).
  4. Good advice, Sandra .. that's one we didn't even think of but we will definitely let the new owners know. Thanks
  5. Thank you all for your replies and advice. I'll be phoning the vet tomorrow and will also take the good advice (below) and get in touch with the breeder to ask if she can keep the pup the extra 2 weeks for our peace of mind. We'll be moving house around the time the puppy is due to be picked up so that extra time will make it a bit easier as well.
  6. Hi We're expecting to pick up our puppy soon and we're concerned as our next door neighbour's dog recently had puppies and all but one died from Parvo which they think was introduced when the neighbour took the father of the puppies to the beach and the owner thinks he or the dog may have stepped in something and brought the virus home. Our yards are separated by a 'super six' fibro cement fence .. would there be any risk of having an a 8/9 week old puppy, bought from a breeder, with appropriate vaccinations for that age, in our backyard? The neighbour's dogs/pups have never been in our back yard but my husband had been over into their backyard several times since they lost the puppies to look after their dogs/birds when they were on holidays recently. I'm worrying myself sick about it.
