  1. 2. i've recently moved from vic to the gold coast and was reading about this topic in the breeders community, for some reason i couldnt comment I recently registered my 2 entire females and nothing was said to me about needing a breeders permit, i will eventually be breeding, if my girl ever decides to come into heat !!! can someone shed some light please?? we are currently renting, a standard suburban house, until we find an area we like and want to buy Thanks in advance Cathy
  3. Bit off topic, just wanted to share my frustration with Qantas!! recently i flew my 2 dogs, one being only 12 weeks old from sydney to gold coast. I waited patiently when told the flight had landed and that they werent far away, 15 minutes later i was informed that my dogs were on their way BACK to sydney as they were unable to open the cargo door!Apparently as there was no engineer for qantas at gold coast airport they were unable to try to open the door in case it damaged the door and the plane would have to be grounded. There were 2 other dogs on the flight and it was quite hot as you could imagine. I had to contact my breeder and she kindly drove back to sydney airport and cared for them overnight and brought them back the next day for their second flight. The feat of engineering to get the door open was a 'screwdriver'. I have sent a complaint, but no surprise, no response. Yes will use Virgin from now on, Not Happy!! Rant Over LOL
  4. Thanks to you both, have contacted them to check availability Really appreciate it Thanks !! I can recommend that kennel. I have used them many times.

  8. Yep its the law, animals must be restrained..in vic that i know of i worked at a pound and most people were unaware of the law, we were trained to inform these people of the laws, most complied, but i even had one guy try to put his staffy in the boot !!! He was " politely " Hmmmmm told he couldnt do that....some people !!
  9. Thanks ruralpug, it will be great to be so close to Bulla, we are in gippsland at the moment and 3 hours from kcc park, so it's a nightmare to even think of showing dogs there very excited, will be starting the property search very soon

  11. The ANKC Regulations Part 6 The Register and Registration was not altered when the Allowable Colours listing was implemented, revised and repealled. Clause 6.2.4 still states - "The registration of White Boxers is NOT permitted on any register". Graham And I think you will find the same with the GSD. They simply WONT allow whites on the Register as it is "not recognised" is the term they like to use. And that decision is not even associated with any health concerns real or imagined. No, you can limit register any dog of any colour EXCEPT white Boxers. They are the only ones not allowed on any register. Which is stupid! You are told you have to registered every living puppy, yet you can't register a white one? SOoo are they saying to you, you have to PTS at birth??? They should be put on limited registration. Soooo confusing, would really like to know what is the real implications and registration qualifications in all states and territories in the country, there seems to be so many discrepancies Who knows !!
  12. Hi Main St vets are good, we used them when i worked for Animal Aid, also heard good things about the vet at Eastwood, but no personal experience.. not sure about GP's we are closer to Sale good luck with the move !!
  13. Thanks, i thought there was one there, when i worked at the pound in fulham i heard there was one there that was good, word of mouth is the best will have to arrange a visit !!! Thanks heaps...
  14. Very cute !! we have a white boy too, the kids called him " chip " he has black spots on his skin, the kids said he was like a chocolate chip biscuit LOL !!
  15. Hi All Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for boarding kennels in East Gippsland, Sale, Bairnsdale areas? Thanks!
  16. It's all very confusing when there is not ONE blanket rule for the nation, especially for newbies I contacted Dog's victoria regarding this issue and they referred me to regulations on ankc website It's greatly appreciated to receive everyone's opinions and experiences !! Thanks... I don't believe that breeders lose their standing for raising white boxers anymore, it "wasn't done" in the past and I believe it USED to be that white boxers could not be registered, therefore you could theoretically lose your registered breeder status for selling unregistered dogs. I did a bit of research on the ANKC site and there is no longer any restriction on registering non-standard colours on the limited register for any breed. It therefore is possible to register whites on the limited register only, which therefore means that boxer breeders will not risk their registration by selling whites as pets. Which of course totally answers my question about why whites can't be registered - these days they can! PS, I got lovely boxer cuddles last night :) What about White German Shepherds? One assumes that the same applies - they can be registered on the limited register only, if the parents were main registered. I think you will find if you do a bit more research you will find that not all state CC's accept white at all.
  17. can anyone shed any light on some previous posts about breeders who choose to raise white puppies and losing their breeder status ?? there are LOTS of white puppies advertised on DOL by registered breeders PS: i own a white boxer i rescued from the pound, where i worked at the time, fantastic, sweet dog, but has multiple health issues
  18. Thanks sway I just got a mini schnauzer but he's only on limited, can I do agility and obedience with him?

  20. Awful news... she should contact Animal Aid in Coldstream, although if she has a chip she would be contacted, but always good to have a report written up at the shelter Wish her all the best, hope it goes well Cathy
  21. LOl... I'm 37 and i'd say the bionic vet would get my vote any day above the other one !!!!! Intelligence is sexy after all LOL .......... Naughty .... No, there's zip for me that way, I mean I cannot possibley take a man seriously who resembles a cartoon character so much, not to mention the charisma bypass he sees to have going, Mr Bland-man. Mind you I found the ? Bionic Vet was.ummm.....appealing. Maybe cause it's because I'm in my forties and if they haven't got a grey hair, they're not worth looking at...God, I'm getting old.......
  22. Hi Belinda I have purchased the type of lead your after from " Count Dogulas " they are in Bairnsdale victoria, think they are around $12 ish email address: [email protected]
  23. Thanks Terujo Yes i think your right, she has been in confinement due to a leg injury, so has LOTS of energy when she does get out to go toilet, of course this is when it happened. She is still on 3 feeds a day..Royal Canin she has been fine so far...hopefully just a one off I remember as a little kid we had a labrador that did it once and not again, hopefully this will be the same. just gave me a fright !! Thanks again for everyone's help.. Take care !!! Hi, I had a Boxer do that as a pup. She is almost 9 now :-) She did it about 4 or 6 times over a few weeks. I found that I needed to feed her more regularly (in smaller amounts of course) and it stopped! It also seemed to happen mostly when we arrived home after being out ( typical Boxer excitement ). The feeding regime made the difference- my bitch was about the same age too. It must have been something similar to low blood sugar levels maybe?
