what did the breeder you got your puppies off feed the dam? what were the pups weaned onto? We sent our pups home with some diet info and when we weaned them we used a smaller version of what we gave the dam A diet is a big thing to work out & my final piece of advice is you need to do what is best for you & your pups.... My dogs never get fed raw bovine however I do feed raw chicken & occasionally roo as the basis of their raw meat section of their diets.. I have my personal beliefs for this & I am sure with experiences you have whilst sorting what is best for your guys you too will develop your beliefs

You guys do realise that some breeders do actually work as well as breed & it is very likely that some of the dogs you have in your homes have been left for long periods of time as puppies dont you? My goodness at least Meetu was asking for ideas & not just sitting back & leaving the pup to its own devices & nothing to do

Registered ethical breeders do up puppy packs, what is in it varies.... I have recieved puppy packs with that much info I got confused, some packs just diet sheets, pedigree of dogs, paperwork, grooming tips, recommending of sleeping etc The thing is not every puppy pack or breeder is the same..... so there is no "standard" pack as such that goes out covering the same info

Take 3 steps back & breathe a bit you are not the PET police..... ETA: Nivia Turbo looks absolutely lovely.... If you do a search for crate training there are some great threads on DOL..

LM, with all due respect, there is disadvantages to feeding a natural raw diet.. I have been through it, lived with it & it is not something I ever would wish anyone to go through. BARF or RAW diets based on BOVINE will & can cause neospora in dogs. I have had several friends lose dogs to this after feeding raw & I too had to deal with it... no short cuts in preparation were ever taken. If you are going to recommend foods you should do so objectively advising the total disadvantages of feeding a total raw diet as well as just bashing the crap out of kibble & singing the praise of it... in Dec 2004 - Jan/Feb 2005 10 dogs in australia (that I alone know of) died because of neospora as a result of a total BARF diet, some of these dogs were in their prime.. The fact also that neospora has been researched to have links with fading puppy syndrome, is a worry as well as the fact that in many cases it is misdiagnosed as the testing involved in IgA levels is expensive so many vets dont readily send away for it unless owners request it means that some of the dogs that are dying of "pneumonia" are actually misdiagnosed. When asked what to feed give your input by all means, BUT be objective I could sit here & give everyone who posts asking about teh raw diet the WHOLE portfolio on why they shouldn't but I dont, I advise them to research & do what suits them & their dog best.. not what suits me.

Well guys what can we say, we love you & miss you just as much today. For Chief it has been two years since I last held you & got to feel your fur, but I still think of you all the time, my eyes start to tear as they are now & I miss oh so much the presence you were. I still feel you near me & I drop my right hand down to pat you & feel a sadness when I know you are not there. But now you also have our dear sweet molly to keep you company & I know that when I see you next at Rainbow bridge she will once again be sitting on your head as if to say 'tis me tis me you cant get away.... love her & look after her & enjoy your time for one day we will all be together again. Molly I love you my girl & I am missing you just as much, I would love for our cuddles to be happening again, and I live for the day that we are together. The past year has had its moments where they have flown & then seem to pause AND I would give anything to have you in my life again. For Chief & Molly the two best friends anyone could ask for... We love you & we miss you

Zorro oo7 I am offended too, but thats just me... on a side thought though you feed barf recommending chicken mince, where do you think the chickens come from?? chicken farms...living horrendous caged lives then being slaughtered & minced, how can a TRUE animal lover feed this?? THE fact of the matter is WE all have to feed what food is best for our dogs, not our political beliefs... me I wont touch BARF if I had a years supply for free... it just about killed one of my dogs. ************************************************************ ******* Rebekah_ashby I would get a high protein food for a while & try that..... otherwise a nice breaky of scrambled eggs & porridge with a few sardines followed up with their normal meal at tea time will fatten up any dog... OI!!! Leave the brachycephalic breeds out of it! They at least in most cases dont needs hours of trimming! But Every Dog is beautiful in its own way & every owner thinks their dog is beautiful. I can appreciate a good "show do" on any breed I personally prefer the continental clip on the Poodle, Sivaro not a bad impression of a "lamb clip" but where is your leg furnishings????? Jacq
