  1. I have a border collie cross who has a (very cute) habit of pawing us when she wants attention or is just being playful. She also does it with other dogs. A lady at puppy preschool told me that she also has border collies and apparently pawing is typical to the breed. Our puppy also seems to have a strong herding instinct, and I am not sure if this is pat of it, but when she plays fetch, she will only chase the ball when it's on the ground. She doesn't even look at it when it's flying through the air. Or maybe that is just her being weird =)
  2. The colmslie park is great =) it's just down the road from me and it has been fairly quiet every weekend we have gone. Our friends told us they have had issues with aggressive dogs at the bulimba park before, so we haven't gone there. It's a bit further away but there is also a really nice area at Cleveland with a dog friendly beach.
  3. Hi guys, I see you had a meet yesterday, hope it was fun! Just letting you know that I am keen to come next time something is planned =) Karlee
  4. Hi Tony, Thanks so much for your advice. The club at Oxley has a new class starting on 20th February, so I am thinking I will go along then. The ADCQ looks really good, maybe we will do the basic course at Oxley and see if we want to stay there or go to Tivoli. And maybe eventually we will go to Carina =) Thanks again, Karlee
  5. Hi everyone, I have a four month old border collie cross puppy. We finished puppy preschool a little while ago and I would like to continue her training. I have been looking at obedience clubs because I think she would eventually enjoy / be good at agility. Can anyone recommend / give any feedback on these clubs? Redlands Obedience Club (Capalaba) Southside Obedience Club (Runcorn) Obedience Club of Brisbane (Oxley) Metropolitan Obedience Club (Chermside) We live at Hawthorne, so none of these are overly close, but they should all be under half an hour away which is fine. If anyone has another place they can recommend, please let me know =). Thanks, Karlee PS. As you can see, I'm new to this forum, so I'm sorry if this information is already available somewhere else!
