I have a number holder badge/pin from this site: http://www.ajohncowdroy.com/ His website is pretty limited now - I think it's being re-designed, but at shows I've seen all sorts of jewellery and he custom makes to your requirements.

Belinda - I just wanted to say thanks to the Club for a great weekend of shows looking forward to it next year Camping was lots of fun and the grounds were great

I certainly hope you're not talking about a VERY good friend of mine who wears (or used to wear) green suits and wins VERY consistently. You know why she wins, her dogs are freaking FANTASTIC examples of the breed. She is not an all breeds judge, so nobody owes her anything Just putting it out there in case it is my friend that this was aimed at benshiva - I have no idea as this was about 30 years ago - I wasn't given the name of the person. Maybe it was a pure coincidence? It was the only BOB this dog ever got.

As a novice handler I've found sweepies good for learning what works to keep your dog standing I do feel grateful for the judges that make you go around and then say you can relax your puppies

That's shocking

I got my numbers yesterday as well Is anyone on OzShow and can post the breed breakdown here? OzShow requires a non-free email address (non-hotmail/gmail/yahoo), but the only one I have is a work email address - but our email filters block yahoo lists

Seriously.. It's Humans Who Wreck Dog Park Fun For Dogs
stonecutter replied to W Sibs's topic in General Dog Discussion
Interesting - did they know it was a dog park? -
Ok thanks all. Obviously everyone from the other breeds were stunned and there was lots of muttering from the crowd - exhibits barely all moved into the ring (in some classes not all the exhibits were even stacked up yet) and the choice was made. I wasn't sure if that was typical or not.
-
So what is it called when a judge puts only one or two breeds up in group? I was at a show where everything in group went to a french bulldog or british bulldog. I am not the expert - but this seems more than a coincidence.
-
Thanks Belinda! For those camping - is it a relatively short distance to move trolleys, gazebos etc? Or would we need to drive around? I'll look for the big dogs Meea (as long as Ziva doesn't dump her coat this week)
-
I haven't experienced it yet, but my neighbour used to show BCs and a particular exhibitor would always wear a green suit, knew most of the judges and always won. At a show, this exhibitor was absent and my neighbour happened to wear a suit in the same shade of green and already had a similar hairstyle - barely a look at the entries and my neighbour got the win
-
We have a JS and were advised to limit stairs, especially if running up or down them. We were also advised to limit playing on hard floors - no chasing balls down hallways - it was putting Ziva's back out. Any tugging must be done on a rug or carpet and running around must be on the grass.

Hi all OH & I are seasoned campers - but the Nowra show weekend will be our first camping trip with a puppy. I've booked us a powered site. I have heard that we shouldn't leave our gazebos at the ground overnight since there's been vandalism in previous years. I'll bring some cheap rope and pegs to try and save our spot. Any tips in regards to the show or show ground?
-
That is such a great effort - congrats Amy and Jatona!
-
Oooh - I'm definitely interested corvus in hearing more. Ziva is a puller and the only time she looks at me on a walk is when we stop at the curb (she knows to heel/sit and then looks up at me for the release to keep going) - but I would love for her to look at me more often.
-
Ziva ate some powdered wasabi after OH was eating wasabi peas and peanuts - she sneezed twice and then started licking the tiled floor to try and get the taste off her tongue
-
I've been following a JS breeder who did the circuit - sounds like a great couple if weeks if only uni wasn't during that period! Might have to arrange to take a sabbatical around the circuit one year

Agility Training Talk Thread
stonecutter replied to Vickie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Just wanted to say hi and big thanks to Kavik for the chat at Spring Fair about starting a pup in foundation training for agility - I'll dig up my clicker and start on some of the suggestions. I'm going back through this thread and others for some ideas as well My Jap Spitz loved watching the dogs run and jump Look forward to being able to join in the conversation one day! -
We used our mat for the first time today and we had lots of compliments and people asking where we got it from - we directed them to the stall so hopefully they found you!
-
Sorry Stonecutter was driving down today from Brissy am definately there tomorrow. Am on the end next to scissor sharpener van and near Don's site. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow! Got my mat today very happy with a purple one
