Hey everyone I was just wondering if you had any vets (in WA) that you would recommend or do you find all vets look after their patients? Just concerned as I know when it comes to human doctors - some have better duty of care than others. So have you had any bad vet stories or hear that some vets are more thorough than others? (I'm tossing up between Dogswamp Vet Clinic and My Best Friend Vet Clinic [leederville])

Hi all! I'm new here and I'm from WA! I'm getting my Bichon puppy in 7 weeks and I'm super excited. I'm looking for supplies for my pup (such as a crate, grooming and essential needs - collars, dog bowls etc) and was wondering if you guys know of any good retailers (cheap? since I'm a student) or if any of you get things second hand and where to look for all these things? Perhaps ebay? or an online store. I've been checking out petedge.com but not sure how their shipping costs will be If any of you could help, that would be great!

As an update... I have put myself on the list for a 3 week old boy Bichon! I chose Anne from Bunbury to be my breeder and I'll be seeing my boy in 3 weeks and adopt him at 10 weeks of age. So happy

I've emailed some and I'll call some tomorrow at a reasonable time instead of tonight so looks like I'm getting closer and closer to getting my pup. Thanks for your help everyone!

Thanks to the both of you Yeah I suppose I'm just new to all this and was looking for some reassurance. Everything you both said about boarding kennels down in Southern River makes sense haha. Thanks for your help Bedazzled, I haven't been to any shows before but that's a good idea. If this person doesnt work out I'll go out hunting for more Bichon

Hi, there, I'm just after a bit of help I'm currently awaiting for a litter of Bichon to be born from a breeder listed on the Canine Association of WA. That should already tell me that that is a reputable breeder, but I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has purchased a dog from them. They're in Southern River and (via research) it appears they also own a dog kennel. This freaked me out at first because I imagined puppy mills but I'm sure they just have a business in housing dogs when their owners are away. I guess I'm just looking for anyone else who's had puppies from them for assurance. And also because they're not very prompt at returning my emails, but should I expect a few days between emails. I had to call them up once after 3 days of waiting for a reply. She did apologise for not getting back to my email, but is this what I should expect? Thanks Theresa
