Hey guys, I'm having the worst tick season I've ever experienced on the Gold Coast. Three ticks in three weeks. All on my boys head. The second one caused so much swelling to one of his eyes we made a trip to the vet. Antibiotic injection and a steroid injection helped reduce the swelling in a couple of days. We have a daily tick check and each of these ticks was found in the evening. The nastiest one was only on for a maximum of an hour. Anyone else on the coast having such a terrible run?

I've had dogs all my life. I'm now 40. My current dog, Bender, is my first Amstaff. I am so in love with him I never want to be without an Amstaff. EFS

I got asked if my Flat Coat was a staffy. TWICE. Sure guys. Same same...? Lol, I'm half expecting someone to have a story about the time someone thought their dog was zebra. Hahahahaaaa! Exactly!

I don't know loads about LGD breeds either so this was very interesting.

the ones I buy in Melbourne and trust me, they have no smell. Oh yeah I wasn't correcting anyone, just the ones I buy stink. My dog loves them but even touching them makes me wash my hands right away.

Quite. But you're supposed to know more about dogs than a terrible news report. Do NOT pretend that the reason you said that was because it was reported as such. If you read this thread, which I assume you did seeing as you are commenting, you know that it was not an APBT.

I think that many people that own bull breeds bother to learn their history. It isn't pretty. Brilliant dogs that are the best at what they do. Seeing those that only have a passing interest in bull breeds (usually a critical one) crapping on about bait dogs and stolen dogs just makes me disappointed. No one wants to test their APBT against your SWF or your Husky or your Rotty. It makes no sense. It doesn't do anything for a dogfighter. They roll the younger dogs that they BREED with other dogs they own.

Yes I guess so but I got a good dog out of it. I'm sure your dog is lovely, not knocking your dog.

I find it common for owners of dogs that are not under effective control to blame others. You're not in the wrong.

Chris001 not a breeder. If they stick around,they might learn breeding is not something they want to do. Or if they do,thats its worth doing right. That's why I included 'owners' in that sentence. You're right though.

I know and I agree. I am one of those that has complained in the past about the rudeness of some people and the descent into arguments that occur here. I guess I'm just at my limit of tolerance for bull breed owners that make us look bad.

These owners and 'breeders' are why the public opinion of bull breeds is so poor.

Without pedigree papers you don't really know what you have. Unfortunately with Bull Breeds this presents a problem in some parts of the country. Your 'breeder' doesn't appear to be the type these breeds need.
