  1. I'm not sure we'll come on Sunday after playgroup. It could be alright if Scarlett sleeps afterwards. She has recall in the morning, then playgroup a few hours later so she sleeps all Sunday afternoon generally.
  2. We go every week it's on. We've had no dramas. Scarlett has a ball. We've had no dramas- besides occasionally getting annoyed with some people's stupidity, but that happens wherever you go! We're there early so if you want me to hold Phi while you get puppy cuddles I can.
  3. are any of the Eagle Pack food grain free? Not Aus made i know...
  4. i have an allergic dog and am a huge fan of the Pola Paws dried treats. The dried whole fish and tuna are great and can easily be broken up to treat sized pieces.
  5. did they find out what the mass was?
  6. no probs with my girl's hips and she's a frog dog/squatter. She also does the 'bully side saddle' too.
  7. oh cathya, I wish there were people people in the world like you! You can see it in Mack eyes, he's happy. So glad he gets to spend the rest of his days is a loving home
  8. my girl did this last week. She was very restless and wanted to go outside. I could hear her tummy from meters away. She was eating grass and was sick. I think she just had an upset tummy. I just added extra natural yoghurt to her diet the next few days. She was all good in no time Edited for spelling
  9. ANZAC Park suits me (you mean ANZAC Park Toowong yes?)
  10. Just wanted to say thanks to PG for showing what it can be like as a potential puppy buyer. I completely understand your frustrations, i too went through the same thing. I called and emailed and was willing to answer any questions breeders had, that was assuming I got a response. I know it's a busy time with a new litter but it does get frustrating to not have any kind of response (even a 'thanks for your enquiry, we're busy with puppies but will get back to you when we can' response would still be a response!). Despite how the response was taken it was still a response which is a step in the right direction! I know not all breeders are like this, but not all potential buys are time wasters either. All i can say is if you ask potential owners who are trying to get a pup by going through the right channels (i.e. a registered breeder rather than pet store/byb) to be patient, i would suggest the same applies for breeders. Please be patient with buyers. Not everyone knows what the breeder is looking for (including preferred contact methods) or how intense the whole process can be. many do give up and go to a byb or pet store. There are some fabulous breeders out there- i wish there were more like them. Hang in there PG, you will find a great breeder and puppy who will make it worth it.
  11. can you see if your vet can use glue instead of stitching it again? We found the glue worked better for our girl when she had surgery, as we'd had concerns about her ripping stiches
  12. I just hate when you're walking your dog on lead and other people who have their dogs off lead let their dogs rush yours. Scarlett is 7 months old and has pretty much only been around balanced dogs so she assumes all dogs are nice, which isn't the case. I even hate it when people try to let their dogs near mine on lead. (Especially when they're clearly excitable.) I think it's polite to ask if you or your dog can approach/come say hello to your dog. Not everyone's comfortable with it.
  13. I'm sorry to hear loveleroy. I can understand your anxiety after an attack. My dog was attached by another dog at a dog park it took me some time before i was comfortable stepping back into a dog park. Remember, there are other ways to exercise your dog in an environment that is more comfortable for you and will help you dog with physical and mental stimulation. You can start with play dates (the DOL social threads may be of use) etc. The suggestion of agility is a great idea. Try more controlled environments and build you way back up to being confident enough to go on walks. You dog (especially with his breed) REALLY needs mental and physical stimulation. As for irresponsible dog owners, they are everywhere- just do your best as a dog owner!
  14. She's in the Urban photos somewhere.. Here's a pic anyway (plenty more in the Bull Terrier thread) Sunday's aren't an issue with transport for me, it more the Scarlett is tired after her busy day. Saturdays are a winner
  15. our vet advised us to use both (given how allergic to fleas she is likely to be). I'm switching to interceptor and comfortis- we've never had a flea problem so don't feel the need to double up. You can always try 3 months worth and change if need be.
  16. We probably can't do Sundays for a bit. Scarlett has recall class Sunday morning then playgroup Sunday lunch so she's cactus after that- normally so am I! Happy to head West for the April meet. You know me, happy to head any direction! @Dandy I just realised your Raz is an Urban dog too- i have seen his puppy pics on the urban page on facebook- TOO CUTE!
  17. we went with the medibank Gold cover... seemed to be the best for us. I have heard Petplan is great too
  18. i'm on the look out for 'quiet' dog parks but it's hard to tell what times they are busy without having to stalk the place. i think late afternoon tends to be ok if you can find a decent place (i.e enough space to if more dogs are there there's room to move away if they're not polite) @ K&P Where did Phi get her energy from after playgroup? Scarlett crashes for nearly 3 hours afterwards (and you've seen how much she walks around)
  19. I was running with my dog and he was usually pretty great at ignoring other dogs who rushed their fences when we went past- one day though there was a new dog on the block and he stopped dead instead of keeping on running. I of course tried to avoid falling over him and ended up slipping and fell on my hands a knees. He just walked over to me and sat next to me- he knew i was kinda hurt. I thought I'd just grazed my knees and hands and got up and kept going. Got home and my wrist was throbbing. I iced it, thought it was a sprain. turns out broken my wrist! 6 weeks in plaster.
  20. Hi Andy, I'm at Tarragindi/Holland Park West so could arrange a lift if you need it (if i'm going of course!). Have you been to the Mount Gravatt East dog park? Brooke
  21. haven't heard any more about people being keen for a Sat playdate so will assume this week is out.
  22. Scarlett has a lot of patience for impolite dogs (and their owners). I, however, do not. I'd place money on me having an incident rather than her Scarlett still has the potential to get distracted by overly excited dogs- not an issue if she's in a crowd where the excitement level isn't over the threshold. We'll see how we go though. We'll be at playgroup either way (she hasn't missed on yet!)
  23. in the right hands, few people notice the great things about some of the breeds targeted by BSL. In the wrong hands, all eyes are on the breed.
