Poodlefan We have friends who have been found safe and well with their dog. They used to live in Grantham They of course arent members of DogsQld as they do not have a pedigree dog. They will require help at some stage but I am not sure if any relief like this will reach them. If possible can you help me get something to them in time. Anything at all will be gratefully received I am sure. I have offered our kennel space if they need it at any stage. debs If you can tell us what they may need we will try to help them. Didn't find the answer on the website, so I'll ask the question some of us want to know here instead. I just made an internet transfer donation to Pacers, how do we prove the donation for the tax man? At the end of the day, I just want the money to help some soggy doggies or other animals, but it might encourage more donations if we knew. Thinking of you all up there We need you to email us your name and address and we will issue you a receipt. Though in reality the payment receipt you get should be good enough.

I wanted to take this time to try to encourage everyone to consider starting a Pacers Group in your area. If we can put these in place to enable every community to be able to have resources and plans in place then when things happen as they are in Queensland and WA It means we are much better able to help people and their pets. Our goal is to have thousands of locally based MDBA Pacers Clubs. All autonomous but working as a huge team. This means we can have an impact on every community and keep fundraising and the benefits from that to remain within each locality. These clubs will be helped to set up and register as autonomous non- profit incorporated associations in their own states. Each club will be chartered by MDBA Pacers with particular requirements written into their constitutions and by laws. These pertain to the use of the MDBA Pacers name and logos, support and resources but they also ensure that the club will operate as a charity with the same core values and operating bases as the Parent group. It streamlines such issues as insurance protocols and legal issues to ensure everyone is covered and protected and it means when its needed we can all work together nationally to help pet owners. Putting together a new MDBA Pacers club, means that problems for local domestic animal owners, who have hit hard times due to a personal or natural disaster, get smaller. It means local risk factors which are unique to your own locality that may affect animal owners and their pets can be identified and managed much more effectively. Communities get better and animals suffer less. That’s because we aim to help where help is needed ,in our own communities and around Australia, with unmatched integrity, energy and understanding of the human animal bond. Local donations and fundraising remain within the local community. Organising a new MDBA Pacers club gives more people the chance to make a difference, assist those in need and introduce new projects and educational programs to local communities. There is no limit to where or how many community-based clubs can be formed. It means we can identify in each area 2 sites where we can drop portable pens and fencing, crates, food and volunteers so that people dont have to leave their animals behind when they have to evacuate but it also means we can help people who hit personal disaster much more effectively too. It doesnt take huge skills or massive time and you can be involved a little or a lot it just means people coming together in your area with a common goal. We have just put the full stop on the last of what we needed to be able to help you to do this and streamline the whole process for you to get you up and running. The event unfolding at the moment demonstrates the massive need for this and the shortcoming anyone has to adequately offer assistance but sadly up till now people have not been prepared and how horrible it can be not to have access to this is forgotten. If anyone could possible see their way clear to being involved in starting a group in your area, no matter where you live please contact us on [email protected] Thank You. Catch your breath and if any one thinks we can help at all call us 0269276706 email [email protected] www.mdbapacers.org.au We're getting ready to give more help when people start to count the costs and return home. Crates and pens are already on their way so they are closer if anyone needs them and foods will be moved up too for now. We will also need a hand to move things around when its safe too.
