  1. Me three.... On the weekend when someone asked what kind of dog I had - I said a Stafford. Oh a staffy they say, American or English? I said no he is not an Amstaff, he is a staffordshire bull terrier..... And they are like, so an English staffy then?...... No just an SBT! Very annoying. It isn't like there are no differences between the two breeds - the AST has about 10kg+ on an SBT.. That is a whole lot more dog. Once when we were walking a jogger stopped and asked if he was an normal staffy.... What's normal? Again i said he is a staffordshire bull terrier. And then my girl who is on the smaller side, a few people have asked if she is a mini staffy

  3. Well I was a steward on Saturday night at a trial and I'm so glad I did it. Gives me a really good idea of what it is like and what I need to work on with Booker. Then last night I couldn't get to sleep as I was thinking about all different ways to proof his stay
  4. I think about having a Rotty too (if i was ever going to own a second breed) but they are too big! I want a dog that I can carry in an emergency, etc. Plus the size of crate they would need and the room they would take up on the lounge! Lol Sorry - no help for you but understand where you are coming from :)
  5. I'm attempting this as well and having similar issues with wanting to drop. However I also reward and praise when he does his morning stretches or through the day after a sleep lol.
  6. I always walk separately. I take Booker and my partner walks Eva. I get home a lot earlier than him so take Book out then & he usually takes Eva in the mornings. I also do training with Book when we are out. On the weekends though we go for a big walk together.
  7. It was on the news the other day and I was half listening.... I think it was David Jones (could be Myer) in the city....
  8. I've taken Booker to Tony Smith at Fernvale Vets and was pleased with him.
  9. We are back from our weekend away and haven't found any more ticks thank god. Am still going to keep checking them though just in case.
  10. If I find another I will have a look under - this tick is dead now.
  11. I went Frontline as they are going to the beach and going to be wet.... Can I put Advantix on too or will that be overload?
  12. We are having a weekend away in Byron Hinterland - I put Frontline on both dogs on Wednesday for ticks - just found this on Eva's collar. Is it a paralysis tick or just a brown dog tick? I've just gone over both dogs and can't see anymore... ETA - Sorry I can't get the photo any bigger.
  13. We have only been going to classes since August.... Really enjoying it though and Booker is picking it up quickly. He loves it. Plus over Christmas classes stop for 2 months, don't know what I am going to do with all my free time (as obedience classes stop too) :)
  14. When is the Brisbane one on? I might have to go watch - certainly won't be ready to compete next year :)
  15. He has to be the coolest dog in the world! :)
  16. I will always have Staffords - I've never owned another breed nor do I really want to. I do enjoy spending time with all types of dogs but wouldn't like to take them home :)
  17. I have a seperate online account just for the dogs where I put an amount away weekly. It's for everything related to them. I still have pet insurance too.
  18. Well done :) What method are you using? hmm, I don't really have a method :D very new to agility. Originally started with food to lure him onto the dog walk. I've also been practicing just on our walks - having him up on a ledge and walking next to him and then telling him to stop - then reward when he does. Also we went to the K9 pro workshop last weekend and all week we have been playing tug and I'm changing over from food reward to tug reward slowly (when i'm more confident that I know what I'm doing) - so we had a little session before we started training on Thursday night and not sure if that made a difference but he was actually quite a different dog..... just listening to me more. It was actually a really awesome training session all round - not just the dog walk part.
  19. I was very impressed with Booker last night at agility training - from originally not being able to get him on the dog walk to then going a million miles an hour over it with no chance of stopping something 'clicked' and he stopped when I said and went slow when I asked :D Yay!
  20. Jen must have seen your comment! :p A sneak peek of Booker for you :) Thank you!! Love it. He was so tired that night :)
  21. Booker was AWESOME! He is a super little dog. Make sure you keep us updated on his progress! :) Thanks!! We've already had a tug session this morning and he loved it :D I'm looking forward to training him this way!
