What are some good sites that you can make a personalised calender (or keyring, mug, etc.) and have them print and post out to you? I wanting to make a 2012 calendar of my two dogs for my partner that is living in Sydney at the moment. And maybe a canvas print as well. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I buy worming tablets and the Comfortis online from Vet n Pet Direct. Comfortis is a tablet which I find works better for me - they happily swallow it with their meals - I have used Advantage in the past, but it didn't seem to be as effective, it would come off on the lounge, etc. after you apply it and I noticed the fleas would be back before a month. Comfortis much more effective. I don't use anything for ticks. I prefer to check them almost daily - they are Staffords so not alot of hair, easy to feel and see if there is one and they enjoy the attention. Touch wood I've never found one.

I give my 2 Comfortis in the spring/summer months and it works really well.

Have you considered a Stafford? They don't require a lot of grooming, I give mine the occassional brush (more so because they enjoy it) and they rarely need a bath - only after they have rolled in something yuck at the park... They do love playing and running around but it's short bursts and then they are happy to sleep. They would need to sleep inside at night, they love to be close to their humans.

Both my Staffords do it and I can't stand it! I hate my feet being touched. They act like they are doing you a favour.... They love it whenever my mum comes over as she doesn't mind and they will hold onto her feet with the front paws and lick for ages! And then I always remind her after they have just given her a sneaky kiss on the face that they had just been licking her feet. Gets her every time

OK thanks. She gets a bit of chicken mince mix with her kibble at night so would it be better to stick with the beef or sheep heart instead of chicken so she's not overloaded with chicken? And is there anywhere that you can buy hearts already chopped up into treat size portions? Cutting up a big beef heart is not something I'm enjoying!

Oh he is beautiful!! What a sweetheart.....

Ok - thanks everyone! So happy I've finally found something she responds to!

I've finally found something that Lola responds to while training to walk on a loose leash! Beef heart that I've chopped up into peices. How often can I give this to her? Would approx 5 days a week by to much?

I know I have a long way to go but here are a couple of my favourites so far!

I've only ever had girls and my two are very affectionate! Especially Eva, the older one. Every night before bed she has to have a cuddle and will then go to sleep with her head on my arm, nestled up to me.... I find them both very loving. Having said that I would like to get a boy one day.

Yay! I did it - went with the Canon 600d and the 18-200mm lens. It's very nice - very daunting though - I have a lot to learn! I will post a couple of pics later

Hmmmm.... The pro nikon guy told me that you can only record for 5 mins per clip on the canon.... Time for more research!
-
Thanks jr! Very cute photo by the way! Ok so I went to a few shops today to have a play with the Canon 600d and the Nikon 5100 - the sales consultants were all very helpful but it seems they are either a Canon or a Nikon person - no in between! Struggling to choose! It's all getting very technical and I wonder how much of it I would even notice as I am a beginner anyway..... The Canon is more comfortable to hold, but the Nikon can take video for longer....
-
Sorry! Next question - what computer program do you use to edit your pictures?
-
Thanks Kirislin & Kja - much appreciated!

OK - so I'm 99% sure that I'm going to go with the Canon 600D. I'm thinking of getting the Canon 18-200mm lense with it. Would this be the best 'everyday type' lense within my budget? I will mainly to taking photos of my dogs, but also taking it on holidays, photos of family and friends and also experimenting with it for all types of different things and getting the hang of using a slr.... Thank you!

OK - thanks! I think I'm leaning towards a Canon... Is it the 'Shutter speed' that I look at to determine if it will capture moving objects sharply? or something else? Not really up with all the technical terms....
-
ok thank you! will do.

Hi, I'm wanting to buy my first digital SLR camera and am after some recommendations. I will mainly be using it to photograph my dogs so I need something that can will capture a sharp picture of them when they are on the move. My current camera is a Panasonic Lumix from a couple of years ago and just doesn't cut it anymore. I am wanting to spend between $1000 - $1200. I really don't know much about them at all. Thank you in advance for your suggestions! Lisey ETA - I can't spell!

Good to hear she is doing better

Agree with the skirting boards and the door frames - also the wooden stairs on the outside of my house. My two go through beds and toys really quickly. They rip the top of the kongs, pick a rope toy to bits and leave little bits of rope all over the lawn. Rip up their beds up so it looks like it has been snowing....Chew on their clam shell pool, I can only fill it halfway now because there is a big crack in it due to the top being ripped off. Just be prepared that things will be eaten! But I wouldn't have it any other way

When can I start some light jogging with my girl? She is a 9 month old Stafford. How long do I have to wait? Note the word 'light' - I'm not very fit so it will be a lot of walking with bursts of jogging for a minute then back to walking!
