Eva loves plastic bottles (water bottles or empty soft drink bottles) - I'll still be drinking my water and she is eyeing the bottle off. The moment I put it next to the bin she takes it and walks away real slow.

Awesome photos! Looks like you had a good time :)

Both mine end up on my bed - they have a cuddle before bed time then I get them down but the minute I fall asleep they are back :) but I don't really mind. Lola prefers though to stay at the end of the bed but Eva has to have her head on my shoulder or arm and her body against me - hot in summer time!

My 2 are outside when I'm out - but they can only access the backyard & under the house (raised queenslander). I only let them in the front when i am there. When I'm home they are usually with me somewhere inside. They sleep inside at night also. If I could trust them not to destroy inside while I was out I would put in a dog door but they like to chew things. When I had to keep one of them quiet after she was desexed - I left her inside for the day - there goes the inside of lounge..... Lucky it was just a cheapy one...

Mine both do it a fair bit - they don't seem to vomit after - I think they just enjoy it...

This makes me feel sick.... How can people do this...

What Is The Longest Time You've Not Seen Your Dog?
Lisey replied to Lisey's topic in General Dog Discussion
My 3 year old girl will have a little sook for 5 mins when I leave but the younger one (15 months) I sure probably won't bat an eyelid... They will be super excited when I get home though. My partner (they are very much his dogs too) 6 months ago moved interstate for work and they are handling that really well - super excited when he visits monthly and when I skype they say hi too! I'll have to set my mum up with a skype account! -
What Is The Longest Time You've Not Seen Your Dog?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is anxious about leaving their dogs.... I went away for 2 nights over Christmas break and was checking in morning and night with my mum to see how they were... And they were fine! I think they are better behaved for her :) I'm also thinking of getting a treadmill sometime soon and teaching them to walk on it so mum doesn't have to walk them - I walk them separately and think that would be too big of an ask.... -
As the title suggests, what is the longest amount of time you have gone without seeing your dogs? I'm planning a overseas holiday for September for 3 weeks and I really want to go, only one thing making me think twice, my two girls! My mum has already offered to look after them at my place and absolutely loves them and they love when she visits (she is the person who looks after them for a night or two if I'm going somewhere local - and she is the only person I would completely trust with them.) Doesn't mind when they sneak up on the bed in the middle of the night too :) I know they will be fine, it's just me! How do you do it? Or do you not go away?

One of my Staffords did exactly the same thing - so lucky she did get electrocuted! I've now put a puppy pen around it so they can't get to it.

Oh thats good then! I noticed around the actul stitch it looks a little red - I've been taking photos of it each day to compare. Today was first day back at work and leaving her on her own.
-
Just wanting to check if you think her stitches are looking ok - I've been doing my best to keep her quiet :) She still doesn't seem bothered by them.
-
Oh they didn't tell me to take her clam shell away, it makes sense though. Will do that before I let her outside on her own.
-
She's been to the toilet this morning and had her brekky, with her tablet (it's a caprieve..... Not 100% on sp). I've carried her down and then back up the stairs. She is still very quiet and is back in her crate. I've got the special collar for the licking but at the moment she's not interested in the stitches at all. I will put it on as soon as I see her perk up a bit. It's easy at the moment to stop the jumping etc, but when she is feeling better it's going to be tough!
-
Thanks for your help. She hasn't been panting anymore, I uncovered her crate and that seemed to help.

Yes, she had a pain killer injection, as well as an anti-nausea injection as apparently she vomited at the vets when she was waking up and still had the tube in her mouth. Vet said the pain killer was a long acting one. If she is hot should I put a fan on her? I don't want to make her too cold.....

I've just had my girl desexed today, I picked her up from the vets at 5.45pm. I think she was done around 2.30ish this afternoon. She is a 14 month old Stafford. The vet told me it was a more difficult procedure as she had a full bladder (would not go to toilet at the vet, had been there all morning), and she'd had her first season a couple of months ago. The vet has given me some anti-inflammatory tablets to give for the next few days and said to start them tomorrow morning, unless she is really struggling.... How do I tell if she is struggling? What is normal behaviour after a spay? 5 mins after we got home she went to the toilet, and I've carried her upstairs and she has gone straight into her crate and to sleep. She did eat her dinner (just half amount of kibble with nothing else). I've gone to bed but have my alarm set for every 2 hours to check on her, she sleeps in her crate in my room, I've just woken to her panting, not really heavy but noticeable. I've put her water close to her but she's not interested. Should I be worried? In the time its taken me to write this and do a quick google search she has now stopped panting and gone back to sleep..... What do I need to look out for ? What's normal? Thank you in advance.

I like number 2 :-)

Yes - my younger Stafford destroyed one so I got them both another one. Within a week this is what the new one looked like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btuJqV0B5mc You can see in the background another blue one which use to be their sandpit

My two both love to lick! Especially if I've been exercising or if I've just gotten out of the shower - they like to help dry me off. I don't encourage it though.... Not my favourite feeling. Occassionly when I'm trying to give them a kiss on their head or something they quickly turn and I end up getting a bit of tongue in the mouth which is gross! I don't think I would let them lick a sore or scratch....
