Interesting point Rubiton, but some have already been listing their lenses etc in a seperate thread. Another point I wanted to raise is there is sometimes more to an image than what you see on the screen. All well and good to list which lens - but what about the technique and what about the doctoring of images in photoshop or lightroom etc before they are put on the web? The image could end up being quite different to what came from the camera/lens anyway so simply stating the lens and a few exposure details could only be half the story. efs

Personally I'd not be encouraging people to feed wildlife hot chips for the sake of a good photo. I know people do but its also a problem and can encourage aggression ("mine mine mine"), dependence ("I dont need to hunt now") not to mention diseases that can be spread (to humans too). More and more I see signs up these days telling people not to feed ducks/wildlife etc and I can understand why. If I feel like photographing some active seabirds, I find a place where people have been fishing. Atleast if they are scoring some food it is natural.

. good luck - have fun

I always like to see a 100% crop without any other image editing. People are generally very happy with their 40d.

"she said that you should never put any lenses on a Nikon except Nikon" she wasn't talking specifically about the d200 in this case

Thankyou KJA - I *felt* like saying snob

Not familiar with that particular lens but I have happily used third party lenses (including Tamron) with my Canons.

Isn't the 450 kinda/sorta based on the 40d?

Yes, put me down for ten of them :p btw, congrats on your girl's litter!

What a hassle

No worries - I thought there might have been a new beaut point and shoot made just for KCC indoors
-
So you were getting good MOVING shots indoors at KCC with a point and shoot? I have taken dogs and handlers out into the rain at that place and got a better result than indoors. (These were gundogs though so didn't seem to mind the wet. And not everyone is game to do photos out in the elements!) Shots are possible indoors there when you know what you are dealing with but I sometimes feel shots lack a bit of punch.

So the images are to help promote/sell a product? So you are ok with her making money from the product but not selling prints from the files?
-
Good summary/wording Luke Kirislin: have you got reason to think she would try to stop you from using them yourself? I would be clear on what alterations Id allow. I had someone make some alterations on an image of mine. The alterations were not my 'style' so I asked not to be attributed as the photographer.

If a USB stick just acts like an external hard drive then you should be able to put any files on there providing there is the capacity to hold them. You need to find out how many gig the stick is (how much storage space it has left). I am used to using external hard drives all the time but don't think I have ever used a 'stick'. If I need to send files somewhere I normally use email - or for larger quantities or large files Id burn it to a cd or dvd.
