How does Parvo travel? Is washing hands and removing shoes enough? Would visiting dogs have to be bathed or treated somehow before hand?

I Have Great Gear, But My Pics Still Suck!
chezzyr replied to ruthless's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Trying to think of other explanations. You said you had to brighten the shots alot. If you have accidently knocked the camera the exposure compensation might be out so that it might be underexposing the shots by a stop or more?? I have known these kinds of things to happen. -
Ripley: Will email you about the 17-70.
-
Is that a typo or are they really wanting to include TWO lenses of a similar focal length? eta: I don't know what 'kit' lenses the Pentax comes with
-
Thanks Ripley. I remember just watching the storm clouds roll in. I was out amongst it doing some bird watching. Saw very few birds but those trees made up for it. No, they wouldn't be snow gums, well I am guessing not because they weren't near a snow line. Sorry, still learning about trees/flowers/botany :D

I am on Redbubble also :D I recently ordered a big batch of my own cards and was thrilled with the quality. You can check me out here: http://www.redbubble.com/people/chezzydesigns

I know of photographers who use both. Not sure what they pay for film and developing though. Film cameras are probably cheap as chips now. I am not familiar with the EOS 50 (did it go by any other names?). Being eos you will probably find it quite easy to swap between. You just want to use that long lens don't you?

We can't come to terms with it either and that photo makes me cry the most because he looks like Rosie. Pretty just like his Mum RIP our little blue eyed boy Love from Chez, Gez and your mummy, Rosie

I am not going to say much because I am actually quite stunned. I am SO SO sorry. You know I 'see' him everyday. Thinking of you all.

I am finding this hard to believe but I am so very sorry to read this news, Cassie. RIP Oakley.

Thankyou for the suggestions, will keep looking. No potato flour, talc or degreaser here. The oil isn't all over her but its enough to be annoying. Might see if we can get her to a DIY dog wash. She sees her breeder on Sunday, can't have them thinking "WTF"? LOL

My fault for cleaning a deep fryer on the grass (was getting it ready for hard rubbish collection). Madam (Rosie) decides 'hmmm, this is good' and decides to have a good roll in the spilled cooking oil when I am not looking I am not able to bath her at home due to the water pressure at the moment so Id be grateful for any tips for getting the oil out of her coat until I can give her a proper bath. Can I use plain flour or will that make things worse? The place smells like fried chips with her walking around

Always helps to try the following (any, or all): 1) power off 2) change/check/remove battery (could be going low) 3) remove battery and card from camera for a little while then start afresh 4) camera or lens might be cold (??) I always consider these things first, could be something simple and can avoid expensive repairs

Yes, IS alone would bump up the price. The Canon 70-300 IS is still current - the DO is just a different version.
-
I have a EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM and whilst I wouldn't compare it to the "white" L series lenses its a pretty good lens. IS is a very handy feature to have. I might be selling mine because I prefer to use primes (non zoom) for 300mm and upwards.

Not all old lenses will automatically work with dSLRs and some will but in a limited capacity. Can't comment specifically on the focus issue. But I had a lens that I used with a previous Canon (film) SLR and it would NOT work with my digital SLR. Despite having same mounts. I have another lens that will only work if I pre-set the camera to AV and f5.6 (which is fine as that is what Id want it set at) - any other modes/settings and it will lock up. I haven't used Pentax dSLRs, they may well be okie dokie with old lenses. Are you able to take the old lenses into a shop and try them with the digital bodies?

8th July 2007 National Collie Obedience/agilty
chezzyr replied to InspectorRex's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Is the obedience and agility just a morning thing and are they run at the same time? Thanks. -
We get those Coles/cheapie ones too OH accidently bought ones in tomato sauce once :D Rosie loves em - I usually mash half a tin or a tin of them with her dry food. She won't eat dry food plain normally.
-
hey, she is doing her bit for the drought/water recycling
-
Not your little discreet trickle then???
-
Did both happen to you Sway?

I love to see handlers/owners enjoying their dog in the ring regardless, It can be such a serious place sometimes - some people look like they have a pine cone up their kiber
-
If a dog sat in the (show) ring and lifted its paw I would probably clap. It's nice to see a multi-talented dog . I do believe some clubs and training methods would 'allow' for show dogs - I wouldn't expect obedience trained show dogs to be velcro-ed to the knee or automatically sit every time the handler stops. I am sure there are different signals/words/commands. But then what would I know - I don't show or obedience trial
-
I am not a show person. When I have asked some show people previously about obedience they have said Oh NO, these are show dogs we don't do obedience with them (in other words looking down on obedience). Some think it ruins their chances in the ring, which is sad.
-
What about show people who won't do obedience with the dog because it will stuff up their chances in the (show) ring?
