I think there is always going to be bigger, better, shinier, flavour-of-the-month dog foods. I have recently had my girl on a 4 star dry food - for some reason I felt compelled to try it, perhaps because others were on the band wagon. The poos are bigger and alot more of them, so I am going back to 1 and 2 star dry food that I believe she was doing well on anyway. Plus she gets raw and sardines regularly plus other goodies.

My girl loves the new Joint Guard liver treats - she gets 4 a day. I am not sure what they cost as we got sent some samples (my girl is the poster pin up girl in a recent Joint Guard poster).

They are a nice camera, I was sad when one we had broke. It was a decent size (not small like the 350 and 400d), felt more like a 'real' camera to me. And didn't feel out of proportion when used with long lenses. I found the mechanism nice and gentle/quiet around wildlife too. Despite the way the dollar is some people may not want to import from overseas either.

Makes you wonder doesn't it Rubiton. Even some photo comps I am left scratching my head (others too). Forget horses....but photograph an elderly person in a foreign land (preferably with oriental looks) chain smoking and you might be on a winner! Must be smoking and must have lots of wrinkles though

Grrr! Nothing's Ever Straight Forward!

We always use card readers plugged into our computers, it is treated like an extra drive and then we just copy and paste the images over to the main computer drive. We don't bother with cords/leads and disks. (or maybe I am just naughty). What do others do? There is always more than one way to skin a cat..... -
She is running around like there is nothing wrong I guess I am just very aware of the redness even if she doesn't give two hoots. Atleast its on the outside of her toe so no pressure is being put on it. I felt around between the toes thoroughly and couldnt feel anything other than a bit of warmth from the sore toe.

I have just been trimming her other feet and that pad is definitely a bit more swollen. Never seen this before, so will bath it in salty water tonight and the vet tomorrow I think.
-
I just took this:
-
I will try to take a picture of it. Its not between her toes, its on the outside of her foot on the side. The area seems smooth, I can't imagine anything embedded? Be right back.

Yesterday I noticed a pinkish spot on Rosie's back foot, just above the paw pad. She didn't seem concerned at all and is walking/running normally. Today the spot seemed redder and covered in dirt. I washed the area and put a boot on her. Now Ive just taken the boot off and shes been licking the area and making it bleed! Boot is back on again and I am wondering what home remedies I could use to help, assuming its a hot spot of some kind? The area doesn't seem infected nor oozy but its pretty red and I have clipped the hair away now so it can 'breathe'. Would Betadine help or some kind of antiseptic cream? (though I am not keen to make it gooey). Anything else I could try? Thanks!

I think its called getting caught up in the moment ;) Anyone know what a broken 300d with working 18-55mm kit lens is worth? ;)

It shouldn't have been too hard, I remember there was a camera store on just about every corner when I was in NY years ago  My big thing was going and buying a leather jacket for a colleague from the Hard Rock Cafe there. I found NY a bit overwhelming and felt alot safer just killing time at Grand Central Station

I am thinking about getting my OH a 400d as a belated birthday present. Not sure what the prices are doing on the 400d but it seems I can get one with a 17-85mm IS lens for around $960 which to me seems like a really good deal. I could also get just the body but I am in need of a semi wide angle lens so thought that might be a economical way of going about it
-
Slide film - I have finished a couple films and half way through another I am more particular with what I use it for. Thanks for the prompt!
-
What about the 400d as an "upgrade"? Isn't the screen a bit bigger ie like 2 postage stamps instead of one Personally I don't think you are going to get a real accurate idea until you can get your images onto a computer anyway. Just think, atleast you have a screen unlike film cameras where you have to wait until you get the film processed.

Ripley: perhaps wait til you have a good play with the new lenses on the current body. You might be surprised. Another thing, I think you will find the 20d, 30d, 40d etc heavier, a much more solid camera to be using. Than what you currently have. Rubiton: I think I know what you are describing. Some would call it "materialism"
-
So, what is the main 'sales pitch' behind the 450? I don't consider live view important. Ripley: does the 350 have the cleaning system?

What a wonderful experience

They don't look like bugs Yes I agree - looks like it might have nice potential. You might not need to rush out and get the 'nifty fifty' now. -

I have lost the link but I did see some sample scenic (not close up) shots taken with that lens so it might suit other uses also, not just close ups of bugs and stuff. -

Some of the close ups at this link would have been taken with that type of lens (hummingbird etc): http://www.hiltonpond.org/TechnicalInfoMain.html
