Lynai shit does happen and you are doing a great job.

So happy to hear!!!!!! How many days were they from mating when they were born?
-
Fav is Whippets. Least fav is Staffies as they make way too many snuffling, snorting, snoring noises and can also manage to sound like a dolphin being strangled on occasion too. Lovely bright happy dogs though. ETA: Husky/Malamutes are close to least fav too. STUNNING and would love one though I could never ever ever deal with that much shedding. I would have to buy it a vacuum lock suite or something lol.

Oh you poor bugger! I hope the alive pups are ok. Hopefully she wouldnt have gone into labour if the pups were not ready.

Yes please though only sometimes have time.

You take temps about 4 times a day and when you get a 1 degree drop you know you will whelp in 24 hours or so. http://www.debbiejensen.com/temp_chart.html

If we go off our last (and only) litter we have 5 days to go. Is anyone taking temps ect? Anyones bitches becoming restless? Grooming a lot, separation anxiety, whining a little or anything? I get paranoid and worry everything is a sign she is going too early. (Worry wart).

Thank you all for your replies. I will watch her like a hawk and be ready to get to the vet if things are not progressing quickly. -
Does Whelping Get Easier For The Bitch 2nd Time Around?
Merrirose replied to Merrirose's topic in Breeders Community
THANK YOU! Here is hoping at least the first one is facing the right way this time :-) -
My bitch (6yo) is due in 16 days and the first time she whelped (5yo) the first pup was breech and not coming out without assistance so ended up at the vet. I managed to get the first pup out on the way and couldn't revive her. The vet assisted her (pulled out) 4 of the 5 remaining pups. The bitch is a bit of a wuss and didnt want to push too hard though she was also quite tired I would assume by the end. The last pups to be born were getting tired too as she had been at it for a fair while by then. Thankfully all was well after we lost the first one. I asked the vet at the time if i should not breed with her again due to the difficulty the bitch had and the vet was of the opinion that there was absolutely no reason to not breed her again. Has anyone had a bitch that didn't do so great first time around that whelped easily the next?

WOOHOO!! Thats great!!! Ive got 16 days till 63 days from first mating. I start getting nervous and watching her for any sign of anything. She was lying on her back last night which she never does. She is starting to look big and appears bigger every day. I just hope it all goes ok!

Thank you!!

Im at the stage where we look bigger and bigger every day now. We are decidedly un whippet like in underline and we have very sprung ribs now. Every time she breaths funny I worry though I am a stress head. Can you please change my due date from the 1st to the 5th? Im pretty sure she wasnt quite ready 1st mating so she may be later than this by a few days.

A Most Disgusting Conversation Overheard

Hope the OP people were not serious. I threaten to put everything on ebay. Kids, cats, dogs ect. -
What times are you feeding her?

Extremist much? I have trouble listening/reading any literature which refuses to look at more than one angle. My dogs love their crates, they have the doors open (unless I'm out or its bedtime) and they will voluntarily sleep in their crates, come out for a stretch, lie in front of the heater for 30 mins or so and then back in their crates. If we get up they hop out straight away incase something exciting is about to happen. So many "serious and dangerous behavioural problems" there. NOT!

Beautiful pups to all!
