Are you guys combining the nutraceuticals with PPS (Cartrophen, Pentosan or Zydax) injections? They work together very well.

Practical Solutions To Problems
Inevitablue replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Proof your dog to an inch of it's life! Nothing better than having a bombproof dog and giggling at futile attempts to put your dog off  -
Yes, the roller coaster ride that would be the pH levels in Missy's stomach! Everytime you change her diet from raw to kibble to roll to kibble to raw her body has to adjust. Her stomach acid has to adjust it's pH, her pancreas has to change enzymatic production and her natural defences against bacteria are challenged. Pick SOMETHING and at least let her body settle into some type of routine. :)

I still think Glyde is the best one available for a symptomatic dog. Overkill if just used as a preventative treatment for an active dog though. The one's with just glucosamine and chondroitin wont give much immediate relief as the ones with green lipped muscle added. Jury is still out on MSM (hence why it isn't listed as an active ingredient) How about also considering the Pernease Powder or the VAN Joint Formula? Both have GLM.

I think there is enough info for you to decide. I'm off to feed my lot (should take about 2min!!!) Honestly? Your saying 'I will feed some roo mince with some roo chunks'. Levels of oxidization from surface area is getting way to over the top for me

I was thinking of it a 5kg bag wouldn't last 2 golden retrievers,a whippet and a chihuahua long. plus 1 cup of the vets all natural mixed to a cup of raw meat seemed like alot of vets all natural mix to me, eg feeding more of the mix then meat. Read the instructions about it, 5kg dry should make 10kg wet. I don't think its 50/50, more like 80/20.

yes...thats been rendered at extremely high temperatures...then cooked again! Yes, your paying for the weight of a well and truly cremated animal! The only benefit is the protein, as not much else survives the process. It's "rid of any bacteria and toxins".... and also vitamins, minerals, amino acids etc. Don't just read what the marketing department wants you to read. Research and read from independent and, hopefully, unbiased sources.
-
Why don't you just buy the Vets All Natural mix you mix with meat??? would probably workout cheaper than what you are doing now.
-
Looking back a this thread, you had researched how to feed raw and set about making a raw diet. I thought your diet looked good. So Missy is liking the food and doing well on it. She vomits ONCE after a seemingly busy night, could have been anxiety related, car sickness, stress etc etc etc and you want to change her diet after one event?

MTS - go read up how meat MEAL is made. I'm surprised there is anything left after the heat treatments its been through. Bumping up the protein is all it can offer. If a dog didn't have a genuine intolerance to grains I would choose the RC over the EBH anyday, simply based off the first 3 ingredients.

17 times a day on average! apparently.... I'm too ladylike to ever do that...
-
Why do you say potatoes are better? Just curious...... If you follow the prey model of raw then a herbivore is far more likely to consume oats etc than potatoes.
-
Why do some people seem to think grain free = less filler? Fair enough if your dog has an intolerance to the grains but the grain free kibble has filler too......potatoes!

I asked Ffiona today if I could share these gorgeous photos she took of my girl and her obsession with sniffing their bums

People with known aggressive dogs doing nothing to protect other people's dogs from theirs.....even to the point where they still allow their dogs to eyeball others at the ring entrance.

A great big bone on the veranda

 typo! I'd actually prefer the use of a bra

No, but the ingredients list is what goes into the food prior to extrusion (unless, of course, something like beef tallow is sprayed on after extrusion - that goes on the ingredients list as well). The nutritional panel post extrusion isn't required, and some compounds have little to no nutritional value after going through the process.
-
If its Royal Canin your referring to don't freak out too much. Its actually omega 3 oil that's sprayed onto the food after extrusion. Its a good thing Not sure about Euk or Hills Im sure some other brands probably do spray with something like beef tallow.

Not always, my deaf dog was the noisiest dog I've ever owned, and many other people living with deaf dogs say the same thing. Making it even worse is the completely off key bark. I didnt use a vibration collar because I never thought of one back then, but I think they would be a great idea for a deaf dog. A zillion recall repetitions with the vibration. Another note with deaf dogs, if you plan to allow them free play with other dogs they REALLY need to learn more body language reading skills than other dogs. They can't hear the warning grumble and can sometimes end up on the receiving end of (to them) unfair snaps from other dogs.

Incidence Of Heartworm In Nsw, Qld & Sa

I'm trying to get the paper. That's the question Stormie, did we influence the drastic drop? When only half the population was ever on preventatives was it us, or the environment mostly responsible for the reduction from over 30% to 0.3% Interesting to say the least. I'm still getting bitten by mozzies in Sydney, so mine are still on their monthly tablets -
No, but in exchange for no irridation go look up the AQIS heating requirements for the food. Its scary, not many biologcal compounds can survive those temps. Australian made all the way here!
